Hotel berhampiran Kapuziner Park, Speyer

Schon an der Rezeption empfängt das Team mit sehr viel Freundlichkeit ihre Gäste. Als privat geführtes Hotel steht die freundliche und familiäre Atmosphäre an erster Stelle. Wir wurden von Isabelle (Tochter des Hauses) und Melissa empfangen, die wirklich gleichzeitig überall waren und den Gästen (trotz Schutzmasken!) die Wünsche von den Augen abgelesen haben. Auch in „Stefans Restaurant“ sieht Isabelle alles mit nur einem Blick. Das idyllische Städtchen Limburgerhof ist noch ein Geheimtipp, denn der Ausgangspunkt ist einfach nur ideal. Ausflüge zum Beispiel nach Heidelberg, Speyer, Neustadt an der Weinstraße, oder mal kurz ins Elsass sind nur wenige gute Ziele. Meine Frau und ich waren an einem Tag im Elsass, was wirklich ein tolles Erlebnis war. Übrigens ist der Holidaypark Haßloch nur 17 Kilometer vom Hotel entfernt. 130 moderne, freundliche und behagliche Komfort- und Superior Zimmer, sowie Suiten vermitteln Ihnen ein zweites Zuhause. Eine Sauna, ein Fitnessraum, Hotelbar, Terrasse und acht Konferenz- und Seminarräume runden die Ausstattung ab. Das Vier-Sterne-Hotel ist ein anspruchsvolles Haus mit einer Spitzenküche und ausgewogenem Ambiente für Feiern, Geschäfts- und Individualreisen sowie Tagungen. Wir haben an zwei Abenden in „Stefans-Restaurant“ gegessen, was sehr gut war. Das Frühstücksbuffet war ebenfalls absolute Spitze. Alles was das Herz begehrt. Alle Zimmer sind Nichtraucherzimmer und sehr sauber, mit Dusche, WC, Telefon, Flachbildfernseher, W-LAN und ein kleiner Kühlschrank, den man einschalten kann. Wir waren Mitte September für drei Tage hier und sind uns aber ganz sicher, dass wir spätestens im Frühjahr 2022 wieder im „Residenzhotel Limburgerhof“ sind. Parkplätze sind ausreichend direkt vor dem Hotel vorhanden.

We travelled to Ludwigshafen for business and looked for hotels near to the work premises, unfortunately the 'Excelsior Hotel' was first in the list. At only 90 euros a night (including breakfast) it is no doubt a 'budget' option, but it isn't budget in the respect of a Travelodge or Premier Inn, instead it's a lost hotel in a pretty unpleasant area which has been left to decay. The hotel is a short walk from the railway station, graffiti-covered walls surround the hotel, and the first impression of the hotel visually is not a positive one, it's hard to even find the way in, amongst scaffolding and concrete jungle. At night, it's a fairly unsafe-feeling area, with people 'hangin around' looking suspicious. The one positive aspect upon booking was the 'Skybar', however digging deeper into reviews, it's clear that it's been closed long before the 'pandemic', infact 4 years ago, and upon arrival we were informed that it's still closed with no future planned. There is no restaurant onsite, nor bar besides a mini-fridge sat on the reception desk with a few bottles of beer available. Upon check-in, I was also asked for my 'date of birth' and home address, which often feels irrelevant, I refused to give such details. Once in the room, via the lift which takes about 5 minutes to arrive and to move, there's no air conditioning which during 32c weather was painful, but fortunately there was a fan. The room size isn't bad at all and the bed was comfortable, but the presentation of the room, as a new guest, wasn't considerate. A pile of electrical extension and cables was next to my bed, not tucked away out of sight. The internet connection was virtually useless in the afternoon/evenings after guests start to utilise it, I resorted to using mobile data instead. There are balconies, but they're just concrete and far from cosy, although the view over the city isn't at all bad. There is no furniture and in addition from a security aspect someone could easily go from their balcony to yours, therefore always be sure to lock and chain the balcony door when not in the room, or at night. At night, you can hear noise from neighbouring rooms, above, below and to the sides, I am also fairly sure that I had 3 'bed-bug' bites from my two night stay at the hotel. Breakfast was included in my 90 euro rate and the breakfast restaurant isn't bad, the service is friendly but the choice is limited, a few cold options and minimal hot options, no bacon or sausages unfortunately. It was a little off-putting to see mouse-traps being laid around the restaurant while I was sat trying to enjoy my meal. While away from the hotel, I left the 'Do Not Disturb' sign on the door, despite this upon return later that afternoon the cleaner had been into the room and cleaned, this is not acceptable when the message is clearly made that the room should not be disturbed. First off, understand that Ludwigshafen is not a happening place. I was here for business, for which I feel the place would be adequate for a day or two stay, but not the week I was here. I titled this as ”try hard”, as that's what I hear my kids call someone who is tries hard and fails, which I feel fits since the hotel tries really hard to be modern and hip. Moxy is Marriot's new brand aimed at the youth and the copies board games, lockers, random graffiti and whatnot scattered around the lobby would imply they are going that way. Considering most of the time it was filled with old businessmen like me would say they might want to consider having this in a more appropriate location. Moxy Lu is a very spartan hotel. No restaurant to speak of - on Sunday I asked if they had any lunch offerings as nothing is around there and they told me their one and only oven, used to cook breakfast, was broken and wouldn't be working for at least a few hours. There is a very solid Italian restaurant next door but you don't want to eat that every day. There's also right now a Christmas market nearby but the opening timing for it is very variable. It's also next to the Rhine mall but understand that German business hours are earlier than American so it closes early and is closed entirely on Sunday. Rooms are clearly advertised as capsule types and they are very reminiscent of Japanese capsule rooms - a bed, bathroom, a chair, and that's it. A hook on the wall and 4 hangers is all your clothes storage, a 6 inch wide, 2 foot long glass panel sticking out from the wall is your ”desk”, and that's it. No safe, no shelves, no coffee machine, nothing. Definitely not where I wanted to spend a week, but that's not their fault. The hotel is very new and is very clean overall. Also a plus that it is very quiet. I've been in hotels where I could literally hear the person walking around next door. All that said, why 3 stars? Well, as clean as it was, there was a long black hair at eye level in the shower when I first stepped in. As I'm folically challenged, I'm certain it wasn't mine. Secondly, one of the elevators broke multiple times while I was there, once trapping a person in there for 15 minutes while I was in the lobby. He eventually tumbled out, angry, scared, and half-clothed (took off some clothes as he was feeling very hot). Said elevator was not flagged as being out of order for at least an hour after as I was in and out. Eventually it was. It had an out of order sign still on it on my second day despite being in use...assumed this was an error before the guy got caught in front of me. Not good management of an issue, I feel.

Wir waren schon mehrmals in diesem Hotel. Trotz langer Vorausbuchung bekamen wir ein Zimmer zur Küche hin. Da es sehr heiss war, hörte man das Abluftgebläse bei offenem Fenster sehr laut. Nach Rücksprache in der Rezeption wurden wir von der Dame professionell behandelt. Trotz Vollbelegung wegen einem Konzert bekamen wir ein ruhigeres Zimmer. Das ist Kundenservice und das bei einem Hotel mit 330 Betten!👍 Das Frühstück ist überaus gut und perfekt organisiert. Bravo an das Management.

Das Hotel kann mit Qualitäten glänzen wie kein Anderes. Zumal darf man bei einer Wahrscheinlichkeit, dass eine Stehlampe funktioniert, von 50 Prozent ausgehen. Des Weiteren wiesen die Handtücher nicht nur Flecken und Löcher, sondern auch einen köstlichen Duft von Arsch auf. Neben der architektonischen Missgestaltung des Hauses, besaß mein Bad eine stilistisch, klug, falsch eingesetzte Fliese. Ebenfalls traf ich, in diesem 10.000 cm^2 Bad, auf zwei weitere wunderschöne Überraschungen. Zum Einen durfte ich eine nutzlose, herausgeschraubte Armatur begutachten, zum Anderen traf ich in der Dusche auf vereinzelte entzückende Schimmelkolonien, welche mir ein Lächeln aufs Gesicht zauberten. Als ich mein Zimmer betrat war ich erleichtert, dass ich nicht der Einzige mit einem Schaden bin, sondern auch die Wand meines Zimmers erquickte mich mit einem vorzüglichen Wasserschaden. Zugute kam dem Hotel einen, an meine Stube angeschlossenen Balkon, welcher mir einen Ausblick des Grauens bescherte. Denn der Innenhof, auf den ich blicken durfte, war von einer durchgehenden Grundbeschissenheit ausgestattet. Aber nicht nur negative Aspekte beschatten das Hotel, sondern auch ein einziger guter, nämlich das Personal. Dieses wies eine überdurchschnittliche Freundlichkeit auf, welche wahrscheinlich auf einer regelmäßigen Drogeneinnahme basiert. Durch die liebevollen Worte „ Danke Bruderherz“ des Personals und der wahrscheinlichen Drogenabhängigkeit, schließe ich auf einen Wohnsitz nahe des Frankfurter Hauptbahnhofs. So kann ich dieses Hotel nur jedem empfehlen, zumindest jedem der von seinen niedrigen Erwartungen enttäuscht werden möchte. Vielen Dank Best Western!

Nur eine Nacht, jedoch sehr erholsam. Die Betten sehr bequem mit qualitativ hochwertiger Matratzen ausgestattet. Fenster sind zum Selberöffnen. Das Bad zweckmässig, jedoch sehr sauber. Die Lage, mitten in Wiesloch, gut gelegen, um die Umgebung zu Fuß zu erkunden. Wir waren zufrieden und würden gerne wieder hier übernachten.

The hotel was easy to reach from the Autobahn and there is enough parking space by the hotel. The parking is free and the rooms are nice, modern and big enough. The breakfast is OK and enough variety. We booked a second night, the staff is very nice and helpful. There is a tram nearby to get into town. We walked wich was a nice walk but far - therefor the old town is spread out a long woy. We took a ”lime scooter” back to the hotel - wich was fun - there a plenty room on the bikepathes. The hotel is nice and quited and the beds where good there I would recommend it. There is 24 hours check-in available.

The hotel was undergoing an upgrade so the room we checked in to was new and refreshed. The hotel cafe had a good spread for breakfast. The staff were very friendly and gave us recommendations to visit around the area. Volk was particularly helpful.
