Heritage Palace Varos - Mag Quaint & Elegant Boutique Hotels

A special stay if you want to be in a Stonehouse. However, no lift so be wary of heavy luggages.. room is clean and decent. Price dived down at last minute .. :(

The Hotel is nice, clean, and comfortable. The staff were very helpful. I enjoyed the homey a**osphere. However, there are a few things one should be aware of before booking: The hotel is in the historic district just about 5 min walk west from the Prominade area. Taxis cannot drive in, so it is necessary to walk in with one's baggage. Also, any excursions will start with a walk out of the area to the main taxi stand. Navigating the area can be a challenge the first couple of times; one MUST have the ability to use their maps app. T-mobile - America has an international plan that give you up to 2G speed unlimited data and texting, but I highly recommend getting a local sim card. Look at the map of the city before choosing this hotel. There are a lot of nice restaurants within 2-5 minutes walking. Furthermore, the office closes from 11pm till 7am. Most importantly, they DO NOT take credit cards. IF you did not pay for the room online, you will need local cash, and you will need it to pay the taxes on the room, and for a taxi if you booked it through the hotel. Cash only. (They do have a zelle option, but I could not get it to work. I recommend cash. Speaking of cash, one should get it from an actual bank A** as the rates 11% vs the 22-25% some private A**s charge.) I give the hotel 4 of 5 for comfort, 5/5 for cleanliness, 3 or 5 for location. I'd give this hotel

This is a very quaint hotel with updated room amenities in a rustic building very near the historic sites of Split. It is situated on a very narrow street (alley) so difficult to access by taxi. {Leave the large luggage at home!]

The property was in a good location. Short walk to Diocletian Palace, restaurants and water front. The rooms are quite small and bathrooms are a bit worn and tired. Staff is quick to respond to questions.

We can't wait to come back again! Everything was better than planned, the hotel's facilities far exceeded our expectations since it was our first time in Croatia, and we honestly had no idea how we were going to do it. To begin with, we had the joy of meeting “Inna” who was like an angel for us at the hotel reception and welcomed us with a big smile and a hug and with such a special and contagious energy she made us feel like family from the first moment. She went beyond the call of duty to help us by giving us recommendations for places to eat and things we should do in Split. Inna is a special being who projects very good energy and was of great help to us during our stay.

Great location and looks exactly as it does on the pictures, also very helpful receptionists, will definitely recommend this little hotel

The staff is very helpful, especially Inna who is very quick to respond, very kind, friendly and eager to help. Nonetheless, we were disappointed with the hotel and the false advertising. There in No restaurant, there is No bar, our room was tiny, our bed was Not a Queen size (it was a short, narrow double), we had to walk too far with all of our luggage because taxis cannot drive into the pedestrian zone in which this hotel is located. This is Not a four star hotel, but rather a two star hostel. The breakfast is awful (grey hot dogs, cold old fried eggs, shredded cabbage, shredded carrot, bland cheese, white rolls). In summary, Inna and the staff are great, but the property is falsely advertised.

The hotel is a short walk to Old Town. The standard room is small. So, just be aware of this. Additionally, if you are similar to me in that you need a dark room to sleep, then you will have some trouble sleeping. There are green exit lights over the room door. The walls are thin between rooms on the same floor. But, otherwise a neat, little medieval type of room.
