the best houseboat in srinagar, the room was great food was nice and the service was awesome bilal help us arrange the trip in kashmir and trip in ****** too i would definitely recommend this houseboat to everyone who are coming here to srinagar

This might not be your typical luxurious stay, but that is definitely the destination and experience you need to have when visiting Srinigar, Kashmir’s magic not only in the marvelous nature but truly in its people. Bilal, the owner of the houseboat and his father gave us a sense of home which we haven’t felt anywhere else in Kashmir! They are SUPER kind, VERY hospitable and DECENT people to be around, I was never at a hotel where the ***ager knocks on my door before bed to make sure I was alright and didn’t need anything! They always offer tea and bring the best of craftsmen of cashmere to the door of the boat for best Kashmiri quality products, like saffron, shawls and silver. I found my two night stay to be an amazing experience. Please do come and visit and support local businesses and heritage sights like New Bombay Heritage houseboat. Because the boat, the view, the rooms, the room service, everything is great and spot on. Thank you Bilal and family for the perfect hospitality, I would never choose any other houseboat or any other hotel in Srinigar but you. And big thanks to the father that gave us insights about places to visit and prices that saved us a lot of money and was nothing but enjoyable. 🙏 THANK YOU I***

Stay at this place was very nice and comfortable and homely feeling. Owners are awesome and helped me plan the whole trip in srinagar. Apart from owner, (Bilal) is also very nice person and always there for us. & for everything he said 'Bilal he na'.. Amazing people and hospitality.. Also Danish confirmed everytime if we are doing good in whole our trip, made the car available at time... I would like to stay at this place again and would recommend to other people. My sister and I stayed here with our five cats for three nights. All of us had a wonderful time. The place is very cat friendly and the people loved us all. They were very accommodating and friendly. The location of the place is also great. I shall definitely visit here again. Thank you!

My suspicion is that the good reviews here and on *********** are written by the owners. This place does not deserve to be more than 1 star. They promised wifi, but it was not working. International plans don't work in Kashmir. The room they gave me was smelly , especially the bathroom. The owner refused to accept that the bathroom was smelly and angrily told me that I was wrong and its the smell of Pine wood. The rest of the boat did not smell like that. I wanted to leave right then , even after paying the full amount and more in cash, even for dinner that was supposed to be part of the package. But he kept pressuring me to stay. Despite my reservations, I decided to stay. However I caught Bilal, the caretaker going through my things. That is when I decided this place is not safe and I cant take the chance of staying overnight in a place where there is not even a proper lock to the bedroom door and there is a sliding door in the bathroom that you open from outside They however wouldn't let me leave till I forced them to call me a boat to take me ashore. They did call the boat but held on to the boat till I gave them my booking PIN number. I suspect they used that to write a fake review for themselves , because when I tried to write a review on ***********, the site said I had already submitted this review. I strongly suggest you avoid this houseboat.

I've had a very hospitable & accommodating stay. Great communication, smooth experience. Helped plan out my entire stay. Felt safe as a solo female traveller. If you're coming to the region, definitely worth staying at a houseboat & appreciate the experience in a ro***tic location to be enjoyed as a solo person, couple or family/friends.

My friends and I stayed this houseboat hotel last week while in Srinagar, Kashmir. Bilal, his family, and his staff could not have made our stay more wonderful than they did. Not only were the houseboat, location, and rooms gorgeous but the staff constantly went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed each moment of our stay with them. Bilal even arranged shikira boat rides for us, airport transfers, transportation and a guide to go see Gulmarg, and a driver to take us around to local attractions. Additionally, the food at the houseboat was delicious, and Bilal even adjusted menus based on what we all liked. I cannot recommend New Bombay Heritage Houseboats enough.
