The Hamptons Apartments - St Kilda

First unit we utilized the 2-bed, 2 bath unit. It was top notch! If you are looking at booking, it is the unit with no balcony. However, you do have a nice, sunny living area, with wrap-around windows. It also had double layer shades to only block sun, or block sun and light. We had plenty of hot water for showers with three gals enjoying a travel-for-wedding vacation. One notation, if you are going to a wedding, don't be an ***** like me, and assume St. Kilda Townhall (across the street) is the same as Melbourne town hall. If your wedding is at Melbourne townhall, you have a 20 minute uber ride to tackle. Being from the Rocky Mountain region in the US, I enjoyed the sounds from the tram moving by the apartment. It was novel. You may want to consider this if you are a light sleeper though (only in 2bed/2 bath. The other unit we rented was on the rear alley side of the building, so no trolley noise there). The unit was exceptionally clean. Next, we stayed in the unit displayed as 2 bed/1 bath. Upon move in, we found there was actually a tiny powder room in the hallway with a toilet. So there were two toilets, one shower. The balcony was massive, with a 6 person table, and entire living space with outdoor sofas. If you are there in the summer, this unit would be amazing! It was still slightly chilly in mid November, so we did not utilize it much. But it was all clean and in nice repair. One of the bedrooms has a walk-in closet, as well as a door to the huge terrace. A few things to point out about both units overall: They provided a generous amount of starter coffee, tea, dish detergent, washing machine detergent (at least enough for 2 loads on both). There was a tidy ironing board, iron, air drying clothes rack, vacuum, and hair dryer. We realised you must leave the closet open when using the tumbler, as it vents the moisture back into the apartments, not outside. We came back to water everywhere, not realising it would blow the moist air back into the closet. Just leave the closet doors open, and it will not create condensation dripping on the floor. I would recommend the property get spatulas for making pancakes and eggs. They did have a corkscrew, that was nice! There is only one wall style mitsubishi heater in the apartments. so if you are there in the winter, you may want to buy/pack blankets, as the heater does not do much for the bedrooms. even the living space was a bit chilly on cold days. That said, in November, I thought the bedding was very cozy and warm. Just glad I brought a blanket for the sofa. Location was awesome! Dominoes pizza is next door & open late (and has gluten free pizza). Loads of cool vintage shops on Carlisle Street, about a 5 minute walk away. There are also multiple big supermarkets on Carlisle. Plenty of nice bars, Asian restaurants, & coffee shops too. Uber costed about 15-20 USD in November 2022 to get to Downtown Melbs. Walking to the bay and fun park on the water took about 20 minutes. Only stayed one night to work in quite and great for that. Apartment was spacious and had everything you need however it had an odd lay out . A coffee station near kitchen but mire in lounge then a weird desk that was used as a pots and oan cabinet closer to lounge as well . Huge amount of pots and pans but not ione knife. Just nit thought out from perspective if patron. Tga stret its situated on is amazing. The church opposite is special. Infact every building was old and architecturally beautiful.. great place to stay in autumn with the shedding leaves for effect.. it was quiet and was nice but decoecboring, drab, and oddly laud out. I like to feel a warmth and inviting energy when I enter a hotel this was just there to give you twhsy u need to stay away from home for a night in a 1 bedroom apartment in a picturesque street in stkilda....

The hotel has Great staff , our room was clean , nicely set out and appointed. The parking once you find it, is awesome. The downside was the aircon was a bit noisy and the bedding suitable for arctic , But is the best I have stayed at in the area.

0/100 0 STARS HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED! On Sunday 27th March at 5:30pm I spoke to the Manager. I had booked and paid for three nights accomodation through Agoda. I had a booking email, Booking ID and Booking paid receipt as well as my bank statement proving I had paid and had a valid booking. She refused to accept my booking. She said I would need to pay triple the amount if I wanted to stay there. She said they didn't even advertise on agoda but when I showed her that the hotel was on agoda she denied it. It seemed like an elaborate scam to make u pay triple the price. Really bad experience. Buyers beware stay aware from this place. 0/1000 Highly not recommended.

A really nice hostel, with a lot of sympathicly supporting program. But: in the little things unfortunately more appearance than reality. The rooms lack ventilation/air conditioning. The protective curtains are mostly torn out. Cleaning in the corners is sporadic. The kitchen is cleaned too irregularly, so that food remains dry in all places. The shower does not provide a constant water temperature and brown mold forms. The staff is generally quite nice, but room for improvement is nevertheless also. The Selina Hostel brand can improve it, and better.

Booked this because the price was reasonable. Studio Apartment is misleading as it's a tiny room with a TV, carqvan fridge and microwave. The ironing board was useful as a dining table. Good sized bathroom, terrible water pressure, bed was okay and the room wasn't serviced, not that it really mattered. We were warned about the construction works but couldn't use the tiny courtyard as it had been pulled to pieces and the sliding door was taped up and covered with grotty, torn plastic. Thought we'd have a sleep in as checkout is 10.30 but was woken early by someone banging and crashing around the sliding doors with a broom cleaning. The day before someone was dragging and peeling the plastic off the sliding door, and other guests using the shared entrance can be noisy. Check in was very good, helpful receptionist who made our room a priority for preparation as we were getting in earlier than check-in times but a $100 securiry deposit for the room was taken off my credit card. 5 seconds to take it but apparently takes 5 business days to release it. Still waiting 8 business days later. Bonus is Aldi downstairs, a short work from trams etc. They'll book taxis for you which is very useful. There are rooms for the budget conscious but don't expect anything special. I'd probably pay more for a better room if I were to stay again but this fitted the budget at the time.
