I was feeling uncomfortable with the front desk service on my check out day. I just asked the front desk staff for a late check out request at 12:00 pm. The front desk staff asked my room no without a smiling face. After I told her the room no, she said a £20 will be charged for late check out. My request is for extension of one hour only. You can say something like… oh I am afraid we wont be unable to fulfil your request as our room has been fully booked today…. But if you really want to extend your stay for a few hours, you could pay a late check out fee if you’re willing to do so….

Great hotel and friendly staff. The room is well Wai with a kettle and even a microwave. Would recommend to stay and would return. There is a vending machine in reception for any snacks you may require.

I have stayed at this Premier Inn more times than I can remember. Never had a bad experience, rooms have always been well equipped, the staff are always friendly, attentive and do their best. They have two buildings, the main hotel which is attached to the restaurant and a separate building. Either building is perfectly fine to stay in, albeit the showers in some of the rooms in the separate buildings have slightly smaller bathrooms. The only real improvement I can think of for the hotel is to upgrade from double to king-size beds. As the pre-built bedside tables are clearly built for a king-size bed. However, this is only a very small gripe and is obviously a personal preference rather than anything actually wrong with the beds themselves. All in all, it is a very good hotel, which I have and will continue to use every time I stay in Stockport.

We had our wedding recpetion here. The staff were incredibly friendly and the food and drinks were great. Everyone had an amazing time as we danced to music provided by a DJ. The room was well kept and the beds incredibly comfortable. Breakfeast the next morning was perfect as well.

Havig been staying at this Premier Inn each year since 2015, I feel competent to write an honest review. Firstly, the hotel part is a looking little tired. The service this time was not good. Mark, who has been there all the years we have been going, seems to spend his time apoligising for other peoples mistakes. the housekeeping is non-existent. I spoke to a housekeeper about cleaning our room (I had already arranged for it to be cleaned each day during our 3 day stay), I left the tag on the door handle,and on arriving back at the room on the second day, tied and looking to shower, found the room untouched! I gave up on asking for any further cleaning as I felt I would be ignored. Mark on reception had to find towels for us & of course apologised on behalf of the company. I also noticed large cobweb hanging from the celing - so much for room cleaners!! In the restaurant, on the first night, my wife ordered beer battered fsh & chips and I ordered a beef and ale pie. The fish looked like it came out of a supermarket box and certainly did not look battered, and her mushy peas were actually cold! this was returned virtually uneaten! My pie, although tasty inside, had pastry so hard I could not get my knife through it! Having paid in advance for 3 meal deals we were a bit stuck with having to eat here during our stay (had we not, there would have been no way we would hae eaten here again). We managed to find edible food on the remaining two nights - but not one meal was anywhere close to what we had been used to. it appears cost-cutting measures have been put in place. the menu was vastly reduced since we last stayed a year ago - even the available drinks on the meal deal had changed. The restaurant in the evening was operated by one man - Chan. How he managed this I do not know. Having to cope with all tables on his own was a work of art - he deserves a medal! BUT - the end result is that everything was late - drinks, starter etc. When add this to the sub-standard food the Chef was putting out - his job was unenviable. How he remained so professional in this environment was a credit to him. I was bemused, in that here were more people serving breakfast than the eveing meal. All they had to do was to take one order, and serve one plate of food - the rest was self - service! I learned that the restaurant was due to be demolished - to be replaced by a smaller restaurant and more hotel rooms - maybe this accounts for the lack of interest at present. Walking from the hotel into the restaurant you have to pass through the ”pub part”. This has been closed down since June 2024 and I have seen cheerier graveyards. I can only assume that the owners, Whitbread, are not actually bothered about whether people like us book in their hotels or not. working on that premise - we will not!
