Strahan Beach Tourist Park

Great amenities although toilets and showers in seperate buildings. Awesome camp kitchen with a lounge area to relax and have a free coffee. Bays were a bit small and caravans per packed in. No vacancies on line so called into the office and the manager was able to get us an unpowered site. The next day we booked an extra night and did not have to move.

I stayed in a one bedroom cabin. There was a lot of timber panelling & the decor is probably a bit dated. However, it had everything I needed & it was warm & comfortable. The grounds were clean & tidy. It was the off-season when I was there so there were not a lot of guests, but the staff member I met was available (either in the office or via SMS) & she was very pleasant & helpful. I'd definitely stay again.

What a fascinating town Strahan turned out to be, and we were so pleased to stay for four nights on a powered site. Great park in an excellent location for walking into town with its various shops, cafés, restaurants, etc. You will definitely need at least four nights here to fit in all Strahan has to offer; cruise, train trip, fabulous play, and plenty of options for meals from take-away seafood to excellent restaurants. Make this your base for your stay.

We stayed on Powered Beach Site 1. The sites were separated by a hedge and were quite level. Easy access to beach at the back of this area. The amenities were nice and clean with great hot showers. The grounds were clean and well maintained. They sold firewood and filled gas bottles (yeh! no swap and go where you get an old battered gas bottle). The check-in is all done via text and they were very accommodating with our arrival time. Park is in a great location with an easy walk back into the township of Strahan for the boat cruises, bit of a longer walk to the wilderness train.

Booked a Cabin for 4 nights. On arrival { no contact with manager except via TXT } Cabin floor was sopping wet from recent mopping when we arrived at 2pm., needed thoroughly drying out with all windows opened before we could move in. Not sure why we were put in this particular Cabin, but it was down the very back of the property in a dingy, deeply shaded, mossy location with an untidy creek/swamp/mud pit out the back. Maybe other Cabins were better located where they received some sunlight, but ours felt more like a cave ? No outdoor seating of any kind..... Worst thing ...... Bathroom/toilet was terrible with shower water 1cm deep over much of the floor, and it never drained away. In particular around the toilet where it was deepest, which meant sitting on the toilet with your feet paddling. Lots of black mould rising from floor, especially behind toilet, and skirting lifting away from walls.. Does not look healthy, and I would doubt it would pass any hygiene inspections. Cooking facilities were poor, old and a very rusty single element atop a cheap toaster oven. Heating struggled to warm the dewy room. No mop or sweeping tools supplied in Cabin and the couch was most uncomfortable. Disabled access ramp was bouncy, suggesting rot under the planking. Disappointing too was the lack of any sea view, we were hoping for more. To be honest the only good side was it was fairly close to township attractions and the bed was reasonably comfortable.
