Service was acceptable but there was only one person who was running the show. At least from the communication. Few things could be improved:
1. Description can be misleading. The apartment is ran more like a airbnb than an apartment. There is no lobby for the service apartment. All communication is via mobile
2. Room cleanliness leaves much to be desired. We got assigned to an initial room on another floor and after sharing our concerns - we got moved to a smaller unit which was better kept - but still not too clean. There were tonnes of things in the cabinets (both units), fridge that had smells from previous use (even use oil packets) and used tissue in drawers. Some towels had spots.
3. Unit is aged and required upkeeping. One unit (the first one we were assigned to) even had a broken peephole where tissue was stuffed into it. The toilet had blinking lights, walk in wardrobe without lights and the plastic guard to the shower area was falling off. The entire unit had marks of painting being tested off the wall and looking bare and horrific. A unit someone left behind after moving out and repurposed- that was the vibe we got. The PIC running the show tried to pass it off that he gave us a bigger room than what we booked but that was also not accurate. Cause we booked a 2 bedroom unit which promises a bathtub, living area, dining and a small kitchen area… and so on so forth. So essentially- we were given what we booked - just a super run down version. And when we asked for another room - we were first ignored and after persisting, was told that we’ll get an upgrade (which we said to give us another similar room that we booked). New unit assigned was not as run down but also didn’t met what we booked online (only thing was - it had a ‘river view’ and is more pricy, nothing we cared for). Assigned new room also had a much smaller room than advertised- supposedly a queen but at best it would be a super single) disguised as a queen.
4. Room amenities also were not accurate- no iron available (we also didn’t ask it’s just no where to be found in the room), detergent not provided (where it was part of their amenities), no floor towels and wouldn’t provide any (be wary of u have old folks travelling together - first room didn’t even have enough towels.
5. Location is near JinJi Lake but it’s the opposite end of where the tourist attraction is
6. Apartment is setup to be more like a love hotel where both rooms had a mini vending machine for condoms and all - one was parked next to the WiFi scanning and all. Not entirely laid out to be family friendly unit.
7. Last but not least - no storage facilities. Was told they have an ‘office’ where our items was stored. Also not accurate. It was left in the same corner where we left our room. We had some difficulty retrieving our bags initially but it turned out okay. But - am not entirely sure whether they change their passcode as we used the same passcode to enter the room after checking out to retrieve our things.
Positively the PiC was trying his best to be helpful - but that doesn’t change the flaws. Too many to compensate with whatever small merits there might have been.
