Bloomestate Swellendam

We stayed here for one night and enjoyed it! The host and hostess really do everything to make the guests feel comfortable. Fantastic service, and a delicious breakfast. Beautiful garden with lovely pool. The host also gave good tips to make our route even more beautiful. We would really recommend everyone to stay here if you are in the area!!

This was an over night stop on the way to Knysna. The hosts were delightful and very welcoming The room was spacious and well equipped. We didn’t use the pool but it looked inviting. The breakfast was delicious and they used homemade jams etc Calvin was knowledgeable regarding S African travel and enjoyed helping us travellers Thanks

A fantastic place to stay , great hosts , lovely comfortable rooms, well stocked and large shower and bath. Nice gardens with lots of space and pool, fantastic breakfast ,it is pity we only stayed one night . I would recommend this place to stay

We stayed just one night in this gorgeous property. The owners were super friendly and helpful. They booked the local taxi lady Sonja for us as well as the dinner reservation. In the room there was free home made Lemonade, lovely bathroom and comfortable bed with a/c. For breakfast there was fruit, yoghurt, seeds, home-made jams, fresh orange juice, delicious fresh roasted Swellendam coffee and cooked breakfast options..plus mini tarts, croissants and other delicious treats. The best breakfast so far in South Africa. There was a well stocked honesty bar available 24/7, lovely setting, pool, gardens. Just beautiful and we wish we could have stayed longer. There were three gorgeous doggies on site who were so soft and friendly. Thank you guys, love Nikki and Russ, northern England xx

We stayed for 2 nights in this trendy, modern, designer boutique property. It is very much on the outskirts of Swellendam so a car is needed to go anywhere other than the pizza establishment next door. The room itself was very large and bright with patio doors opening on to the immaculate gardens and pool. Having chairs, even fold up one, on the patio would have been a good idea as the alternative was either sitting on the dividing wall bench or inside. Everything was spotlessly clean. The sunlounges round the pool were very comfy and the owner has a bell in the building which sounds every 20 minutes to remind them to come and clean the fallen leaves from the pool – that’s a new one on me! There was a large guest lounge with honesty bar, microwave, crockery etc, a good selection of games and dvd’s. Breakfast was all home-made produce from the owners and was excellent, there is a large orchard on the property which you are welcome to walk round, and this provides the fruit for all the citrus products.

All perfect, the room, the surroundings, the help and support, and the brilliant fresh breakfasts. Host Chere could not do enough for us. Looking forward to the lemon cello when we get home. There is a lot to do in the local area and some great restaurants.
