Stayed for 2 nights and had a lovely time. Overall, the place was clean and looked new. Room was clean and relatively spacious. There were only a few, small issues that prevented this from being an all 5 star review. Firstly, sound proofing was bad. I could hear what my neighbours were watching on TV at night, and as we were facing the pool, we could also hear when people were running around there. Secondly, the lifts were really slow and narrow for a seemingly new hotel. The first day I arrived, 2 out of 3 lifts were not working. And the lifts themselves were very narrow and uncomfortable to be in when there were more than 5 persons in the lift. Lastly, the kettle provided in the room was faulty, it didn't stop boiling unless you pressed it manually, making it a bit dangerous for guests who are unaware. But like I said, these just irked me, and other guests may not feel the same way. Overall still a very pleasant stay and good amenities all around.

We stayed at Grand Mercure Malang Mirama for our honeymoon for 3 nights and 4 days, and honestly, it was one of the best hotel experiences we’ve ever had. My wife absolutely loved everything about this hotel, and so did I. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was exceptional. We were welcomed by Wike from the front office, and she truly made our stay extra special. She was always smiling, respectful, kind, and very helpful throughout our stay. She even offered us free activities and vouchers, which was such a nice touch. The biggest surprise was that we got upgraded to the Executive Suite, the highest room category in the hotel. Huge thanks to Wike for making our honeymoon unforgettable! The room itself was unbelievable. Beautiful views, a huge living room, separate bedroom, and an amazing bathroom with a bathtub overlooking the view. Everything felt luxurious and very comfortable. Since it was our honeymoon, the room was also beautifully decorated and we were welcomed with a fruit basket, which made us feel really special. Breakfast was another highlight. The variety was insane so many options that we honestly didn’t know what to choose. Everything we tried was delicious. One thing that really stood out was the staff. I’ve traveled quite a lot, but the service here felt different. Every single staff member we met smiled, greeted us warmly, checked if everything was okay, and helped immediately whenever needed. You can really feel the genuine hospitality here. We also received a complimentary photoshoot from the hotel, which was such a lovely experience. The photographer was great, and we even got a printed photo in a frame to take home as a memory. The only disappointing part during our stay was the Teppanyaki experience at the Japanese restaurant. Unfortunately, it did not meet our expectations at all. The chef only cooked in front of us without any interaction or entertainment, and when I tried making conversation, she seemed annoyed. Considering how expensive it was, it honestly felt very underwhelming. I personally wouldn’t recommend the Teppanyaki experience there. Other than that, everything was truly amazing. Even though I don’t remember everyone’s names, thank you to every single staff member who made our honeymoon so memorable. We absolutely loved our stay and will definitely come back again. I booked Hotel Tugu Malang for my friends as a surprise honeymoon gift, and they absolutely loved it! From the moment they arrived, they were impressed by the beautiful setting and warm hospitality. The hotel exceeded their expectations with its luxurious ambiance, exceptional service, and stunning design. They mentioned how comfortable and relaxing their stay has been, making it the perfect place to unwind after their wedding. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a memorable stay in Malang—whether for a honeymoon or just a peaceful getaway. Will definitely consider it again for future gifts!

The hotel itself is in the city centre and within a mall which is convenient but it can get very crowded (and jammed) on weekends. The staff are polite and understanding. We had to pay 100k IDR deposit for our rooms but since we were carrying sleeping kids, they let us check into the rooms first. Room is clean but old and basic. The room does not have safe deposit box, unmovable shower head. Basic amenities are dental kit, sanitary bag, shower cap, and lotion. Shampoo and shower gel are 2-in-1 and stuck on the wall. There’s only bath towel (no hand towel). Sound-proofing can be improved since the corridor is not carpeted. Breakfast is free for kids 5 and below. Taste-wise it’s ok. Apart from egg station, salad, waffles and bakery section, the rest are very much Indonesian style.

If travel for this hotel still OK, price competitive, breakfast is standard breakfast. Too many students when I check in, but overall is ok. For business trip.

Good location as it’s located near the Alun Alun (City Square), the Malang Railway Station, and some legendary local culinary spots. Breakfast was decent with many choices. While the general cleanliness in the room was alright, the furnitures and amenities in the room are a bit outdated. All in all, if you’re just looking for a strategic resting place after a day exploring Malang area, this hotel is perfectly adequate

The room is just the right size for a couple or a small family of 3- 2 adults and a child. The bed is comfortable. The shower is separated from the toilet bowl area. The TV is not a smart and no Netflix or YouTube. The swimming pool is not big so be aware if you and your family want to swim, choose the right timing to avoid crowds. The gym is facing the pool. There are several food options surrounding the hotel. The carpark is small too located at basement. Overall, it is an okay place to stay. Clean and comfortable.

Overall, this hotel provided a very pleasant experience. The food was of good quality, with an excellent breakfast selection. Service throughout the stay was professional and attentive, and there were no major issues. Although we experienced a minor problem with a leaking air conditioner, it was resolved promptly. Complimentary welcome drinks were offered, and the room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. Apologies for the limited number of photos, but I would highly recommend this hotel and would be happy to stay here again.

Hotel nearest with convenience store and take 5 minutes walking to Malang Kotalama train station . To go 'Kota warna warni ' around 20 minutes only by transport . Recommended hotel in Malang City .
