Standout was the unique rooms which are extremely private, spacious and beautifully designed along the lagoon. Personally I didn’t quite understand the ‘Butler’ concept and found some of the comms style a bit frustrating. The other standout was the ‘Day of the dead’ celebrations. The property was decorated beautifully and very well organised. The opportunity to also participate was great as we felt emerged in the festivities. It would have been nice if the dinner package also included the face painting. More broadly the property is set within mayakoba so you can explore the grounds including the other hotels and it was fun to explore on the bikes. The only other thing to be aware off is also this is the more premium / exclusive hotel in mayakoba it’s still geared towards families or at least there where quite a few kids around. Finally don’t have high expectations of the beach it’s tiny and there isn’t much space. If you want high end luxury visit Maroma.

Abba Suites is sweet! Great downtown location. Right in the middle of it all on 10 & 10...We stayed here a total of 10 nights on our month long family beach vacation. The rooms were great...very nice and newer...full kitchen minus the oven which you dont really need on a trip to Mexico...seperate bedroom from living area which was nice for mommy and daddy 😄🙌. The absolute best rooftop swimming pool view...were we could watch sunrise & sunset! The standout stars were Denise & Nevida! They are just great and made this stay extra special for us. Everytime we walked in the building they were so welcoming and helpful with any questions or suggestions we had. Honestly we could easily just talk and hang out with them. Nevida turns out to be very good at rubik cube solving and our 7 year old son took a liking to him right away and even with how busy he was he took the time to teach our son some super helpful tips and encouraged him to keep practicing the rubiks cube. Keep being Awesome you guys! See you again next time we are in Playa 😄👍

The hotel location was really great. It's just one street away from a very lively and loud street, so the hotel is in a calm location during the day. However, at night, during the weekends it still gets noisy until 2 am. It's only a five minute walk to the beach which was full of sargassum the time we were there. The room was a good size in the bed was very comfortable. We also used the gym which was fairly equipped and the pool look good, although very narrow. Our stay included breakfast, which was à la carte where you choose one main dish/person and 3 drinks (which only included black coffee, juice and tea). Not really worth it for a short stay in my opinion. First day we had an issue with the breakfast order and the restaurant staff handled it poorly, but it was ultimately resolved with the reception staff, Alma, stepping in. I have to thank Alma for being so understanding and kind to us, every day during our day. We also had an issue of missing some cash, and I think the manager handled it really well; the investigation, giving us the update, all of it.

Great Stay at Riu Playacar We enjoyed our stay at this clean, well-organized resort with spacious, quiet rooms (ours had no balcony, but it was fine). The minibar was a nice touch, and the bathroom was spotless. Highlights: ✔ Food variety – Multiple à-la-carte restaurants (dinner reservations not needed) and buffets with good lunch/breakfast options. ✔beach – Plenty of sunbeds but no umberalla so bring your sunscreen, though pools get crowded les sunbeds. ✔ Access to sister hotels – Party lovers can visit Riu Tequila’s club nearby. ✔ Convenient location – Mini-market across the street, and Playa del Carmen (5th Ave) is just a 150-peso taxi ride away. ✔ Easy airport transfer – ADO bus (250 pesos/person, 45-min ride + 5-min taxi 150 pesos next to ado turism station). Minor drawbacks: ✖ No elevators – Tough for guests with mobility issues. ✖ Entertainment hiccups – The host sometimes forgot to switch back to English after Spanish announcements. Perfect for: Travelers who want good value, variety, and proximity to Playa’s nightlife.

The buffet was great with lots of options, and the staff throughout the hotel was consistently friendly and welcoming. However, a few things to note: there are very pushy salespeople around the property who are constantly trying to upsell timeshares and spa packages. It’s understandable, but it did get a little tiring at times. The hotel is directly on the beach, but the beachfront isn’t ideal for swimming since it’s very rocky and shallow. You need to walk about five minutes down to find a spot where you can comfortably swim. The overall vibe of the hotel is a bit outdated and cheesy — definitely a mixed crowd of younger people looking to party and older guests, giving it a bit of a “cruise ship” atmosphere. My husband and I had never done an all-inclusive before, and although we got an amazing deal, it’s probably not something we would repeat at this property. As for dining: • The buffet was solid — lots of choices, decent quality — I’d rate it a 7/10. • The two à la carte restaurants (that required reservations) were subpar, so we honestly preferred the buffet experience. • The sushi swim-up bar was a bit of a letdown; the sushi wasn’t great (but understandable given the location). Our only real disappointment was the hot tub — it was very tiny, difficult to find, far away from everything, and when we finally reached it on our last night, it was lukewarm and not fully functioning. Final thoughts: If you’re looking for a budget-friendly all-inclusive with great staff, decent food, and a nice view — this is a good choice. Just know it’s not super luxurious, and swimming directly in front of the hotel isn’t ideal. It’s located right in the heart of Playa where there are lots of partying going on, if you want that sort of scene. We’re glad we tried it, but we’ll probably explore other options and quieter locations next time.

The place is convenient if you're going to Playa del Carmen for a short time, the location is perfect, close to everything and at the same time far from the noise, the Walmart next to the hotel it was a plus, it is close to the ADO but you need to check first, if you go to ADO turista it will be far away, like 15 minutes walking and if you go to the other ADO terminal if will be just a few minutes.

No full length mirror in room. No fridge. Every every time I try to amend my booking or add something to my booking it would not let me via the website they always declined anything that I asked for example I wanted to extend my trip by one day they said booking was not available however I was able to book online. They would not upgrade my room. Kept saying everything was unavailable and it was not. Website says there is an iron and a hair dryer in the room but you have to ask for it.

Sehr schönes Hotel mit vielen Pools und Grotten, aber leider etwas unübersichtlich und kein direkter Strand Zugang. Sehr gut geeignet für Familien erst recht wegen dem Zugang zu den umliegenden Parks.
