This is a modern, elegant hotel about 3km from the Korat old city. It's also set back a little distance from the main road passing through Korat, so that it's quiet, and set in a backlane. It's just a few hundred metres from the largest shopping mall in Korat. The hotel is a low-rise building with an inner atrium with plants and swimming pool. My room was spacious, modern and comfortable, with the odd exception of a small wardrobe board for an otherwise well furnished room. Breakfast was excellent in the airy high ceiling'd dining area, with the usual solicitous service. Ideally you should have your own transport but if not, the hotel can call a car for you. This is a haven of peace and luxury when visiting Korat

I was in Nakhon Ratchasima visiting friends when my visa was set to expire. I went to the immigration office and was told that the requirents for extending hai visa in this province were very strict and depended on establishing residence or housing while on extension. The immigration office recommended that I check into a hotel or go into Bangkok and file for the extension there. I checked into the Imperial Hotel. EM, the Front Desk Manager, who speaks excellent English very patiently worked with the Immigration office and completed the requisite forms. Upon return to the Immigration office, they called her three times to verify my occupancy at the hotel. EM very professionaly represented me during this stresful time and I was ultimately awarded the extension to my visa one day prior to the Songkran holiday when the offices would be closed beyond my visa expiration date. Em is a very professional and experienced Accomodation manager who deserves recognition for her role in helping me meet the Immigration requirements. She is an asset to the Imperial hotel. I will recommend this hotel to my friends based on the way that Em managed my situation.

Service at front counter was quick was given a room I believe at the old building first problem encountered was a keycard reader failed to read keycard thus have to walk back to front desk to get technician to resolve to quite a while for it to be solve, next bath tub was rusty, aircon metal clattering sound unsure what’s happening followed by a musty smell and then there’s a smoking smell, light by the bed not working overall still can live with it as I lowered my expectation

PPengguna TetamuStayed here overnight while passing through Korat, because of its location (close to The Mall). Friendly staff. Took a ”VIP” room which was actually like a studio: 2 spacious rooms, incl kitchenette (halogen stove + microwave), big cooler, 2 airco”s. Clean & everything in good working order. Enough power plugs + small bedlamps. Only odd thing is that the shower/bath is next to the bedroom, while the toilet can only be reached through the ”living room”. Ample parking in front of the hotel. 2 minutes walk gets you in The Mall. Very good deal.

1177pierreOn this trip, I decided to explore Thailand more and travelled inland to Korat (aka Nakhon Ratchasima) in the north-east Isan region (about a four-hour, 209 baht bus ride from Bangkok) for a week. Because it is a long way from the sea and a lot hotter (41 degrees), I was looking for a hotel with a pool. The Romyen is very conveniently located, about 10 minutes walk from the centre, but off the main street so it proves an oasis of calm. The pool, surrounded by trees, has lovely warm water and towels are provided. The hotel cost more than my usual budget but it was worth it for all the quality. The large rooms were very impressive with crisp modern lines and an uncluttered Japanese/Zen-like simplicity (there seemed to be a lot of Japanese influence in Korat, with cafes, restaurants, karaoke and a GINZA area). A quiet efficient air conditioner, a big fridge, free water, a kettle with tbags and coffee sachets, a flat tv with many channels and a balcony all added to the comfort. As the food in two of the three Isan restaurants we tried had disappointed, we ate mainly in food courts (The Mall, with its spectacular waterfall and beautiful fish ponds, and Terminal 21 both offer excellent cheap local food -- this is the same Terminal 21 where there was the recent terrible massacre) and the hotel restaurant which was consistently excellent and reasonably priced. We enjoyed their gyoza dumplings, their wontons stuffed with prawns, their spicy pork and chicken dishes. My only suggestions would be safes in all rooms and a bookcase so that travellers can swap books. All in all, highly recommended.

Basic amenities, including two complimentary bottles of water, met the expectations for the room type booked. However, the location is somewhat isolated, necessitating the use of a rideshare service to access nearby stores and restaurants.

SSeattleBasedVagabondAfter touring the Kwanruen PARK, we decided to stay at the Kwanruen RESORT. The PARK has a great lobby, but needs some serious work in the rooms and hallways (e.g. replace the carpet, etc.) The RESORT had connecting rooms that are sold together on *********** as a ”Family Room”. It was just what we needed and was good enough for our one-night stay. The beds are a bit softer than many hotel beds in Thailand (though still fairly hard), so just workable for this big farang. The Resort was reasonably priced...and the more we got to know the place, we understood why. The walls are thin, and the doors couldn't keep out a fly, but we had no issues with noise or safety. The included breakfast buffet was good enough, though I doubt we would have returned to it a second morning. Among the various hotels we visited in Nakhom Ratchasima, this one was the best.

PPaulHotel is good budget hotel with good breakfast. Car parking is good, and resturant has a good menu of affordable food. I have stayed here 4 times.
