Clean hostel with friendly staff. Rooms were spacious with large lockers for each occupant and personal plugs and bed side lights in a great position. Showers/toilets on each floor and I never had to wait to use them. Downside is that you can hear the music from their basement club even on the 6th floor until late into the night. Didn’t bother me as I was only there a few nights and I managed to get enough sleep. Kitchen is WAY too small for amount of guests in the hostel. The social events put on by the hostel were a good way to meet people as a solo female traveller.

The location of Mercure is very close to the Central Station, which is very suitable for families like us with elderly and children. The staff at reception is very nice and helpful. She suggested us to sign up as a member so we could park at a discounted rate of $45 a day (the original seems to be $49). We were charged $1 which seems to be a deposit when we registered Check-in there. There are swimming pool and fitness facilities on the 14th floor. During our stay, we called the reception for the services. The staff came to our room quickly to provide services. In addition, maybe we stayed during the Christmas period, there was a draw. Were were lucky to win the prize. My child was very happy to win a toy remote car, which added more joy. We had a good experience with our stay. The hotel staff we met there are very nice and helpfiul. If we go to Sydney again, we will consider Mercure again! 🙂🙂

I was attending Australian Fashion Week and was looking for somewhere to stay that would be comfortable. I was not looking for student type accommodation Adina was the closest to Cariageworks and really surprised me. I have never had someone take my bags to my room in Australia! I offered a tip and they wouldn’t accept. The room was immaculate, I felt I was the first person to use it. I found the room very quiet even though it overlooked the pool. I mentioned that I don’t drink water out of the tap and when I returned there were three tins of still water on the kitchen table. I can’t rate Adina highly enough. Congratulations I will be back !

This hostel has the best family feel of any hostel I’ve stayed in on my travels. The kitchen/bathrooms and common areas are clean and tidy. I would say the kitchen is a little small, but it makes up for that by the fact it’s full of appliances I’ve not seen at any other hostels. The hostel events include free food, quizzes and music bingo with prizes of alcohol. Showers are really good. I would recommend staying here and I will be returning.

Very central and clean hotel. Whoever put the pictures on of the reception area looking untidy was really unfair as I never once witnessed any mess. The continental breakfast was really nice and the bed was so comfy. The only thing I'd have liked was a room with a view but other than that I couldn't fault the place and I don't think there's anywhere in Sydney where you'll find a cheaper hotel,

Incredibly polite and helpful staff. Rooms were clean and spacious and the mattress felt like a cloud! The booking process was very easy and we snagged an excellent deal. I can't wait to return in December!
