Ulasan Taishan Gaoye Hotel

There was no main overhead light in the room, just table lamps, making it rather dim at night. On the plus side, the bathroom did have a bathtub.

Located in the old town, this place is convenient for everything. There's a big supermarket downstairs, and plenty of restaurants and other services nearby. It's also connected to a pedestrian street, making everyday life super easy. The only downside is that it needs a renovation; while the room facilities are still functional, they are quite old.

We chose a non smoking room but can still smell smoke from other rooms. Should keep the smoking and non smoking rooms in different levels.

The reception staff are very helpful when we asked for directions and restaurants. Hotel's restaurant is closed therefore no breakfast arrangement ,and the Spa for massage was closed too. These are having negative impact to a hotel. Luckily the rooms and beddings are very clean.

The room was spacious and clean, parking was convenient, and it was easy to go shopping.

Room was big with view of the Pearl River. Nice amenities, nightly distribution of fresh fruits, 24hrs front desk and very central location to shopping areas, restaurants and other shops.

During our stay, the bathroom door broke, and a guest got locked inside.

More than 10 years ago, I stayed in Taishan Gaoye Hotel and was impressed by this hotel. It is a well established, well equipped hotel and within walking distance to the pedestrians mall and shops. I highly recommended this hotel for its convenience. It will be great if the lighting in the room are adjustable as it is a bit dark in my allocated room. The WC has better lighting than the room itself. I will still return to this hotel when I’m in Taicheng.

It was just okay; the overall conditions left a bit to be desired. There's no robot delivery for takeout, so you have to go downstairs yourself to pick up your food.

While the room type was acceptable, the hotel is quite old with outdated facilities. The moment we entered, there was a strong musty smell from the carpet. The front desk staff had absolutely no concept of customer service; check-in was painfully slow, they were abrupt, and incredibly unwelcoming. In the middle of the night, I couldn't access the upper floors. The front desk attendant was practically asleep and completely dismissive when I sought assistance. They only provide one key card per room, even for double occupancy, and since a card is required to access the upper floors, this was extremely inconvenient. Dining options around the hotel are very limited, with hardly any places to eat nearby. Parking spaces were also insufficient. When my child lost a key card, we were immediately charged a 50 RMB replacement fee. I suggested it might have been lost somewhere within the hotel, but the front desk staff completely disregarded my comment and insisted on the 50 RMB charge. Overall, it was a particularly terrible experience.

The hotel is showing its age. However, the facilities are still quite decent. The staff were very friendly and exceptionally polite.

The hotel was a lil only. wallpaper were falling apart at certain spots. But service was great. Location amazing. Right around the corner was the night market and shopping district. Have HongKong tour bus direct drop off. Will rebook this hotel next time.

Convenient location, decent cleanliness, and excellent service.

The hotel was largely satisfactory: clean, quiet, and minimalist. However, the facilities and amenities were definitely showing their age. What was truly frustrating was Ctrip. I've been using them for over a decade, but their notorious 'loyalty penalty' system is truly effective. For the exact same room type, on the same day and at the same time, it was tens of RMB more expensive than booking elsewhere. It looks like it's time to cut ties with them.
