Was booked as a birthday treat. If you like organised activities and timetables then it's for you.
On arrival they asked for passports, out to the car to get, then voucher, out to the car to get, then a copy of my credit card.
Really was not happy with that and thought it unnecessary as they had details from booking as the room was paid for,it made me very uncomfortable.
The main swimming pool was large but had only one place to get in so was a long walk.
We ate outside the hotel at one of the many less expensive restaurants. Our view from our room in block 13 overlooked a dilapidated roof of the Thai themed restaurant, didn't compel us to eat there. The room itself was comfortable and clean and we loved the dressing gown, it's our thing. WiFi around the resort was good. Sunset memorable.
A great place for families that like a package holiday. Not for us.

Despite being a long way out of Khao Lak, (one of the last hotels, 15 mins out) it’s worth going the extra distance. Staff so friendly and helpful; everyone in the hotel. Our poolside room was wonderful-space to relax and slip into the water and also spa jets whenever we liked. The big pool with bar near the beach was also a pleasure to be at. The food for breakfast and dinner was delicious and they catered for my food allergies very well. They gave options for level of spiciness for the Thai food. I had an injury and the late checkout til 6pm they provided for me was a final bonus. Highly recommend

Stay in this beautiful resort only if you’re ready to be spoilt by the amazing hospitality of their staff. It’s located in the middle of nowhere, but that doesn’t matter as the resort itself has everything you’ll need. We took the all in package. Rooms are luxurious, very clean, very well kept. The resort itself is very well kept, pool, beach, bar, playroom. Very family friendly. Stayed here twice, both during peak (March) and low peak(June), both occasions felt very different, i personally preferred the peak, however one thing that did not change was the hospitality of their amazing staff! A special shout out to Kwan for professionally handling the tantrum of a hungry 35yr old (me). Great selection of food in their restaurants too. And when you need a laugh, Sit@Aon will crack you up. Will always come back.

Overall a fantastic holiday experience.
Rooms are nicely done up, clean and relaxing .
Staff are warm, welcoming, super helpful and friendly . Especially Nu who took great care of us . Great breakfast selection and super yummy.
Great setup at kids room which also catered to older kids with Pingpong table , ball machine, arcade games and other selection.
Staff at beach station were super helpful, all ready to help , SUP , boogie boards and kayaks available for use without charge. You really don’t have to go anywhere , just relax at the beautiful Sandy beach. Kids also played volleyball almost every evening with other guests .
Impressive fire show one night
We will definitely come back here .

We travelled with 3 families (6 adults and 4 kids 8-12) and stayed for 2 weeks. This was our second visit to Mai Khao Lak and we were equally as happy. Stayed in the top section (pool access jacuzzi suite). Modern, clean room with a separate living room, which doubles as a kid's room. Walk off the balcony into private spa area which joins massive swimming pool. There are no shortage of wet options with 5 pools from the beachfront area to the peaceful adults only pool area at the top of the resort. Loads of choices for bars and food. The new Thai restaurant by the beach is very comfortable with great food. At the kids pool area there is another kitchen and bar with great lunch options. The staff are always friendly and helpful. There is an hourly free shuttle bus from reception to town which is convenient, otherwise walk to the beachfront and you can get a tuk tuk (if you order through reception it will cost more!). Breakfast buffet is easy to navigate, with a huge selection of coffee / tea, fresh fruits / yoghurts, cooked food, cereal, pastries, cakes and sweets, loads of bread choices and cold cuts & cheeses. This was a big highlight for the kids and great way for us to all gather and catch up to start the day together. The beach and ocean are very nice, and the many options of beachfront bars, restaurants, laundry services and massage places are all within a 1-5 minute walk from the resort. We visited most of these during our stay and never had a bad experience. Kids club is awesome with plenty of fun and varied activities to engage the kids. If I had to fault something - the internet inside our room was poor, but in most other areas of the resort it was fine. So the 2 big questions... would we go back (a third time)? YES! and would we recommend it to friends? YES! Thanks to everyone at Mai Khao Lak for another memorable experience! See you next time!

Огромный отель, прям не типичный для Таиланда. Разные корпуса, показалось что дальние поновее. Жили там вторую часть отпуска в номере с выходом в бассейн и джакужи (в самом бассейне). В спальне не понятная ванна зачем нужная около окна. номер двух комнатный (гостиная и спальня) вход в ванную есть и оттуда и оттуда, но опчему то не закрывается что не удобно для семьи. Завтраки очень хорошие. На пляже отличный променадик с кафешками.

PPaul_HKBeautiful location and hotel grounds are absolutely stunning. On the surface the rooms look good but they are a bit dated with some impractical features and water was dripping from the AC vent. The toilet is semi private which is a bit strange - it sort of connects with the shower area which is not ideal when you are with your partner. Also there are no wardrobe doors even though the shower area is right next to it.
The staff are generally nice and friendly but service is very average for a hotel of this nature compared to other boutique hotels, with staff constantly forgetting things from food or drinks orders at the restaurant.
Flexibility of breakfast was fantastic though and in general the food was excellent. Encountered some issues with room service on our first evening which were resolved promptly the following day.
End of stay was disappointing - we appreciated the hotel were able to extend our check-out by 2 hours to 2pm (and able to use a shower room to get changed later in the day), but they made it abundantly clear that if we wanted the room to 7pm then we would have to pay for another half-day occupancy even though the hotel was definitely not full. If the hotel was at full capacity, we would have completely understood the situation. It all felt a bit ‘budget’ from a 5 star hotel.
To make matters worse, during a rainy and cool afternoon, we ended up killing time on sun-beds on the beach before we could use the their shower room. The bizarre thing was that the shower room turned out to be a different guest room identical to the one we had been staying in. Surely it would have been easier to let us stay in our original room for a few extra hours, it would also have saved the hotel from having to clean two rooms.
Given that we had arrived very late on the first night, it was not like we were trying to take advantage of them and maximise our stay - we were just killing time ahead of our evening flight. It was all quite a weird end and so not sure we’d go back or recommend this hotel even though the setting is incredibly beautiful.
There is a lot of communication provided about the ethos of excellent hospitality while staying in the hotel. This specific action and policy seemed in opposition to these communicated values.

PPengguna TetamuWe spent 10 nights at JW Marriott Khao Lak for our honeymoon and it was absolutely perfect for our needs! An utterly beautiful hotel with clean rooms and facilities and the kindest, most helpful staff I've ever come across in a hotel. Our room was spacious and beautiful, with direct access to the 2.4km pool - this was a great feature and it felt like we had a bit of private pool whilst being able to swim all the way to the main pool. The pool also adds to the feeling that you're in a village community rather than a commercial hotel, as we made friends with our ”neighbours” and would see them from time to time when we were out swimming. The hotel's beach is clean and stunning, the sun beds are thickly padded and comfortable, and we made use of the bodyboarding and kayaking equipment on our stay. The restaurants at the hotel were incredible! The main ones are Ta-Krai (Thai), Sakura (Japanese), and Olive (Italian). Before arriving I was a bit sceptical at how authentic the restaurants would be but the hotel has ensured they've brought in the best chefs who could bring authentic cuisine to Khao Lak. The sushi at Sakura was probably the freshest and tastiest I've ever had (albeit, I've not been to Japan yet, but it's still better than all the London sushi places where we live and even better than Nobu). We loved Olive restaurant too, in particular their Sunset BBQ evening where you're spoilt for choice on meats, seafood, sides, salads, and a full-on Italian cheese and ham bar with really delicious, authentic selections. Chef Enzo there was dishing out cheeses to us and making recommendations what to pair each cheese with and was so helpful (and the cheeses were incredible). We opted for the Breakfast and Dinner package and we're really glad we did as we loved going back to those restaurants over the 10 days. For lunch we'd eat at the hotel cafes, or out at excursions, or at local restaurants adjacent to the hotel, such as Phen's (delicious!). We also bought a spa package at Quan Spa in the hotel and booked in lots of treatments throughout our stay. The spa is beautiful and the massage therapists were excellent; it's a bit pricier than outside the hotel but the spa environment is worth it for that luxe feeling (and still cheaper than in the UK!). Overall, I don't think we found and faults with our stay at JWM and we will definitely come back in the future, perhaps for our anniversaries! And we would highly recommend it to all our family and friends!

PPengguna TetamuThis is our 3rd time stay at La Flora, This time we stayed here for 3 nights from 17-20 May 2023, Everything excellence as always, the room was spacious and comfortable with high quality cleaning. The breakfast here was so good with many choices and also testy, the staff very attentive and provided excellent service especially ladies who clear up our table. Special thank to front team and appreciated with very kind for upgrading our room, and surprise birthday cake with beautiful bed decoration which made our stay very very special. Over all very impressive, Look forward to staying for the 4th and next, next, next time!!!

PPengguna TetamuWonderfully peaceful and laid back hotel. The staff are wonderful each and everyone we met. They truly cannot do enough to make your holiday special. We had a Grande Deluxe room on the top floor overlooking the swim up pool. It was perfect! The bed was huge as was the bath. Bottled water was replenished every day. The room was also cleaned spotlessly daily. Breakfast was a choice of fruits/yoghurts, eggs/bacon/tomatoes or Thai stir fry. Something for everyone! Bars are dotted around the entire resort. Obviously they charge hotel prices but they all have their own happy hour (actually it’s 2hrs!!). Time it right and a bottle of beer is 70baht and cocktails 130baht. It’s a 10 minute walk into Khao Lak and the start of a 1.5km ***** of shops and restaurants. Alternatively there will always be taxis waiting outside the hotel entrance. You can get these for 100Baht (£2.20). It’s 200Baht if you fancy a trip to the market which is a couple of km further. We left early at 5am and were provided with a breakfast box to take with us which was a nice touch. Overall we loved this hotel and will definitely return. Kha Lak is the perfect place to visit and Moracea is the perfect hotel to base yourselves. Thank you for making our holiday special.

PPengguna TetamuActually, I haven't expect anything much for hostel with the price of 200-300 Thai baht. Just sleep for one night with safe and clean room.
However, This hostel make me feel very comfortable like stay in my neighbor's house.
The room and bed is nice and clean. It is not luxurious but every stuff is prompt for guest like you are in your own home.
You can get hair dryer, drinking water, snack, microwave, bowl, glass, knife for share to every guest.
There is no staff in the hostel but you can contact owner or staff by phone. They are very kind and nice.
I saw a hostel staff ride a motorcycle come to hostel to refill drinking water in the tank in the night since a guest told owner that water is nearly empty.
There should be next time for sure to come back to this hostel. Very recommend.!

KKande58We stayed for five nights at Hotel Gahn during our stay in Khao Lak. It is a very attractive hotel. Our room was comfortable and clean. The king sized bed was firm but very comfortable. We were on the 5th floor in a deluxe room with a balcony overlooking the pool below. Small, but lovely pool. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Down the street, a short walk away, are restaurants, convenience stores and the night market. This hotel is on the main road and as such we could hear the traffic in our room, even though our room faced to the south overlooking the side roads. It wasn’t terrible but you could definitely hear it. The traffic was quieter after midnight but it started again around 6 am. We had sliding doors to our balcony which were not sealed well so the traffic noise was pretty much the same in our room as it was sitting on the balcony. But we managed to sleep well at night despite the noise. Our stay included complimentary breakfast every day. The selection included one choice of three mains - eggs (cooked to your specs) and two Asian dishes. There was white and brown bread for toast, jam, some cereals, fruit, a few more Asian dishes, juice, coffee and milk. Overall it was a pleasant stay.

PPengguna TetamuWe upgraded from 2 suites from a package TUI booking pool villa 838 costing about 42K THB for 14 nights in November and December 2022. 2 adults, and 2 kids age 17 and 10 so the privacy of a private pool was one of our highlights of the holiday. This is such a peaceful resort with beautiful surroundings and very helpful staff. Notably Emme, Gift, Mark, Tee, Big, Yuda, Tar, Pecky and Winai. This resort is not within walking distance of town / Biang Nang market area, and a taxi to go there will set you back 300 THB each way from the guys on the beach outside the gate. That's the going rate both ways so don't be conned by a chancer. In the resort there's 2 restaurants, one's a buffet and the Napalai on the villa side of the river and you can eat from both if you upgrade. There are 2 swimming pools, several bars and organised trips to temples, islands, local markets, animal sanctuaries offered from the front desk or holiday rep so you aren't cut off from civilisation by being in such a remote area surrounded by beach and jungle, which is actually a plus point if you're a surfer, nature or beach lover because this resort scores a 10 if that's what interests you. We didn't travel to Thailand for the nightlife, just to chill in some winter sun. There's ample entertainment just 10 minutes away from the resort, in town or Memories bar, but if you want boom, boom, boom and all night drinking go to Phuket instead. I'd definitely return, but not with children.

Seaview Resort Kaho Lak sits right in the middle of average for resorts. It's got some nice features, the pool is lovely and the beach access is great. Other than that it's just another resort. We got the Deluxe Ocean View room which was nice but didn't have a view of the ocean, just another room in front. Room size was good and it was very clean. Breakfast is average, the staff aren't the most friendly but not unfriendly, the location is ok but not great. If you're planning on spending most of your time at the resort it's absolutely fine. I just can't find anything to recommend as standing out. Wifi is very hit and miss so if you need to work from the Hotel I be prepared for it to be slow at times. The mosquitoes are insane so I'd strongly recommend if you have a ground floor room to bring repellent and spray, you're going to need it. This isn't the hotels fault, the area just has a lot of mosquitoes. If you can get it for a good price then I'd book it. Otherwise there are plenty of other average resorts around.

PPengguna TetamuMy family had a great time here, being right next to the beach was perfect, good size rooms for a family of five. My youngest daughter loved the outdoor toys, shame the swimming pool was out of action but it didnt really matter as the sea was 5 min walk away. Service was very good and the breakfast staff put extra effort to give us a great breakfast before we left. Overall highly recommended and good price too!
