Ulasan Guam Reef Hotel

I like this place and often book for the infinity pool but I was a bit bummed with this recent booking. The weather wasn’t great, not the hotels fault so I didn’t swim but still enjoyed laying in the pool area. I had upgraded my room this time thinking the beds would be better since they all seem outdated and the higher priced room wasn’t any different. Just had a beach view that I liked. My major is issue was upon check in and how very unnecessarily slow the process was. I’ve worked at hotels before, no one should take this long to check in their guests, especially when the entrance doesn’t turn on their AC for their guests. On top of that I had important dinner plans that were delayed bc I couldn’t get ready in a timely manner due to the outlets being broken and broken hair dryer. I had to blow dry my hair over the toilet. I was happy the manager spoke to be next day she seemed very sweet and I am hoping I am somehow compensated in the near future. I was very disappointed that I booked this stay and hope the hotel can redeem itself.

This review is going to be "unfair" because we checked into the hotel after the Super Typhoon hit Guam and the hotel was basically destroyed. But I did want to write a comment and review regarding the hotel staff. During a very difficult time, the hotel staff was really nice and helpful and understanding and supporting. For example, we had booked the hotel for 2 nights but because the airport was damaged, all fights cancelled, we had to stay in Guam longer. Despite not having a booking the hotel allowed us to extend our stay for two more days until the airport reopened and commercial fights available again. So for this wr are very appreciative of the hotel and their staff.

It was my first stay in 15 years, but perhaps due to COVID-19, there were fewer staff members and the building was showing signs of aging. Room cleaning was not thorough, and towels were often forgotten to be replenished. However, the hotel was empty, so I was able to stay relatively comfortable.

The pool was the best part, and the water server was great too! There was some noise from the server and the ceiling, but it was only temporary, not constant.

Good location, friendly staff, everything was good. Just a little bit old feeling..

The service at the front desk is the best. I checked in a little late, but I was upgraded to a suite and stayed in a large room. A little disappointing was that they gave me a robe on the first day, but they stopped giving it to me on the second day. They even took it away, which was disappointing. Also, they forgot some towels and cups and didn't provide them, but the service was good otherwise. The facilities are old because they are old, but they put in more effort to manage and provide service, so I will stay at this hotel again on my next family trip. The pool is nice and it's quiet.

It's been a while since I last visited Guam. Since I was traveling alone, I stayed at REEF, which is close to downtown. The hotel is old and not very sparkly. The room and the bathroom are clean. The restaurant's drainage was broken, so I booked a room with breakfast included, but I decided to eat at Eggs 'n Things, IHOP, and another restaurant. However, I could use the meal coupon at any time, so I was able to eat lunch there too, which was good. I was alone in one room, but I paid for breakfast for two people. So I was lucky to get a meal coupon for two people. I only had to pay for dinner, so I saved money! The pool is always empty, so there's no need to fight for a seat. If the weather is good, you can see the sunset from the infinity pool! DFS, JP Store, etc. are just a short walk away. The trolley stop is along the street, so it's easy to get around. Only Kmart is a little difficult to get to.

The hotel is located in the center of Tumon, and you can see the beach from the rooms! There are shopping malls and restaurants nearby, so it's a very satisfying hotel. When I checked in, there were no staff members who could speak Japanese, but I think they were able to explain things clearly because there are many Japanese guests.

Second visit. I think I will come here again. The location is good, the price is good, and I am very satisfied with the room upgrade during the off-season. I don't think I will go anywhere else.

Still have a nice view of the beach. The facilities are relatively old, but there is a smart toilet.
