Hotel Villino Gallodoro

My wife and I went for a meal here just sharing a Lasagne between us. We had a glass of white wine and Rossi. We initially wanted to eat inside as it was cold but the waiter manager should us a room that was not set up. So we sat outside.The food arrived and we cut into it and found it to be tepid. We called a waiter over who did not apologise just took it away. The food came back but not a fresh piece of lasagne our origanal all mashed up and still not heated sufficiently. They also brought out a basket with three pieces of sliced bread which they charged us 5 euros for. No apology nothing. As we left I said to the manager you won’t be seeing us again and he hunched his shoulder. We have suggested to people we met to avoid this place, lovely view but disgraceful treatment of customers.

My review is for the restaurant of this hotel!! The food was good, but me and my friends who went to eat dinner had a very bad experience with the staff. Since the begining the looked like “did not had any nervs” to take our order. And all the dinner they was making faces. When we left they said to each other that, they have been here for two hours, finally they left( coz me and my friends understand italian, they thought we dont). We would never go back there again, mabye if the change their staff who really knows how to treat a customer.

The location of the hotel is absolutely unbeatable, with the views over the bay just making it feel quite magical, especially for sunrise or sunset. The staff were very friendly and helpful. It was useful that there was onsite parking, though there was an extra fee for this. The breakfast was outstanding, especially by Italian standards, but really a very good range of breakfast options and out on the balcony with a gorgeous view over the bay. On the down side, The bedroom was small and the bathroom was really tiny. One morning there was no water pressure at all in the shower, which was annoying, but this was resolved the following day. However the size of the bathroom was really not very good, we thought - it was quite difficult to take a shower comfortably in such a narrow cubicle. That said, I think we got the smallest room in the place, as we were only there for two nights, and other rooms seemed to be larger, so it is worth asking for a larger room! The restaurant at the hotel (for lunch and dinner) was ok, but nothing special in my opinion, food-wise. The breakfast was definitely the best in terms of food. However, overall, I would still definitely recommend this place, as it was so well located and the views just so beautiful, as well as the person on reception being very helpful. Also only a 5 minute walk to the cable car up to Taormina, which was a really fun experience in itself and afforded some amazing views on the way up!

Abbiamo prenotato questo hotel poiché booking lo consigliava per la bellissima vista mare e per il prezzo conveniente. Arrivati sul posto abbiamo capito che non era così. È caratterizzato da diverse casettine totalmente estive. Arrivati, nonostante ci avessero chiesto l’orario, abbiamo trovato le finestre aperte e il condizionatore spento, a dicembre. Non cambiano gli asciugamani e non passano a rifare i letti.

Hotel situato in posizione strategica, con due passi si arriva alla splendida baia di Mazzarò sottostante (munirsi di scarpette da scoglio) ed alla funicolare per salire a Taormina. L'hotel ha una convenzione con il lido Delfino molto ben organizzato. Siamo andati tutti i giorni presso tale lido e siamo rimasti soddisfatti, il mare è molto bello. Il soggiorno è stato buono, stanza con arredamento minimal, bagno funzionale, colazione da migliorare per qualità e quantità dei prodotti offerti, servita su una splendida terrazza con vista sulla baia. Possibilità di parcheggio interno a pagamento. Personale cortese e disponibile. Inutile parlare della bellezza e della magia di Taormina! Hotel consigliato
