Struan House B&B

Located right on the Quay side at Tarbert Harbour. My room had a beautiful view of the bay marina. The en-suite room was perfect. Clean, comfy and well appointed. Breakfast was excellent and served by the owners who could not have been more charming. Many thanks. Richie.

YES this is the best accomodation in Tarbert. It was perfect for our needs and the couple we had with us from NZ. Great breakfast served with good conversation to get our day started. We stayed here for one night prior to catching the ferry to Islay. The B&B is situated on the harbour-side and you can park your car for free nearby. The owners are very friendly, chatty and helpful. Our room was nicely furnished and had an en-suite shower. Tea and coffee were available with fresh milk on the landing. The decor is lovely with prints and paintings on the wall. We had a great harbour view from our room. There are places nearby to find an evening meal (best to book in advance) and the breakfast at Struan was delicious. It is good value and only a few miles to the Islay ferry terminal.

Amazing hospitality and a perfect sleep. Would highly recommend. Lovely room with beds that gave for a perfect sleep and a brillient shower. Breckfast was divine with plenty of choice including their speciality dish of Mexican porridge. Highly recommended for a perfect stay with a lovely view of the harbour. Thanks so much :)

Arrived late evening due to ferry disruption but the host Mark greeted us warmly. After two ferries on that day and several miles of driving, the cosy room and spotless comfortable bed was just what I needed. Breakfast was tasty and well cooked served by the lovely lady, the Mexican porridge was divine. I would certainly recommend Struan House and would stay there again if in the area

This is a quality, good value, place. The hosts are really friendly. I had a lovely clean comfortable room with excellent shower. Good breakfast I Would definitely return and happy to recommend. I was on a cycle tour, and Mark was very accommodating with the bike.

I had to come up to Tarbert to take care of something and spent the weekend at the Struan House in a lovely harborview room. Comfortable bed, TV with extra channels, and private bathroom. Breakfast was amazing. I'm a light breakfast eater but I had enough food put in front of me that I didn't feel like eating anything else until late afternoon. There were fresh blueberries, strawberries, and melon. Several choices of yogurt, and fruit juice. Normally that would be good enough for me. But I was also served eggs, avocado, mushrooms, and tomatoes. Plus vegan sausage. And if that wasn't enough, two slices of toast. Mark is a great chef and this was probably one of the best breakfasts I've had in a very long time. Everything was perfect. Great location to explore the town and ruins of the castle up the hill. I highly recommend staying at the Struan House. For sure I'll return if my travels take me back to Scotland.

Made us feel very welcome from the start. Helped us get an evening meal by booking a table at a local restraunt. Spacious and clean room with lovely view of the harbour and fresh milk for our coffee!! Mexican porridge to start breakfast a must. Delicious, as was the home made jam and marmalade. Highly recommend!

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Struan House. Marc and Aby made my stay just perfect. There is plenty of roadside parking on the quiet Harbour Road. A 100m walk into the village where there are a dew restaurants and bars. The single ensuite room was very comfortable, and the large shower was extremely good. Breakfasts were amazing, freshly cooked, and good conversation with the wonderful hosts. Recommended.
