We stayed in our hired campervan for 3 nights. It is a very clean and well maintained site with nice views over the lake, a 15 minute walk from the facilities of Te Anau. The shower blocks are very clean and warm and well equipped with hairdryers etc. Staff were extremely knowledgeable and helpful, for example for our walk to the Kepler Track nearby, and in booking a Milford Sound Cruise for us at no extra cost.

Bailiez Cafe & Bar fantastic breakfast, it was delicious. Excellent value for money. Lots of options on the menu. Great location and lovely dinning room area. Nice and relaxed. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Would definitely recommend

This motel is run and operated by a lovely couple, Mary & Nigel who take care of your every need before you arrive during the booking process, and then once you arrive at their motel they offer warm, friendly service. The room was absolutely lovely. Very large king studio on the 2nd floor. It was quiet, very well appointed, and super comfortable. We have found king beds rare in NZ so it was a very nice treat for us. The location is great. A very short 1 min walk to the lake, and about 3 mins walk across the park into the town centre. Nice to be able to park the car and walk to bars and restaurants. Would certainly stay again and highly recommend.

Fantastic staff and decent accommodation. Rooms and buffet breakfast were as you’d expect, nothing amazing but still good. The staff were friendly and super helpful. Our hotel manager even offered to drive myself and a friend to the start of the Kepler track so that we could fill our afternoon with a hike. Fast forward 6.5 hours and he also came and picked us up, saving us about 10-15km worth of extra walking along the roadside.

We stayed at Aden Motel just one night after returning from Milford Sound. The apartment was extremely spacious, comfortable and had well appointed amenities. The beds were comfy and my favourite part of the room was the heater that was facing the shower area, when we were in Te Anau it was around 9-10 degrees Celsius so we were freezing and because we had the heater while showering I felt so warm and at home. In the morning we were greeted by resident dog Molly and her friend Rocky who were so friendly my daughter can’t stop gushing about them. Will definitely recommend!

We stayed here as a base when visiting Milford Sound. Our room was a twin studio and was excellent. There was loads of space and was furnished to a great standard. The shower was powerful and the whole unit was exceptionally clean. You can park right outside your unit and it's a couple of minutes walk to the lake shore or into the town centre for the restaurants and supermarkets. It was very good value and we booked direct to get a 10% discount. Highly recommend.

Big regret. Extremely unhappy with condescending attitude, lack of hospitality, and unprofessionalism of owners Rodger and Tilly. We made a booking on the website and selected 10pm ETA (this time option was available on the website, and was clearly written on our confirmation email). When I realised night of that they hadn’t let me know late arrival arrangements, I emailed well within reception hours to ask what to do and over some correspondence received a series of very condescending emails with a snarky attitude. After charging us $40 simply to access a key lockbox, the owners wrote back in a condescending tone ”Most people just pay attention to our confirmation email ... The confirmation email clearly states 8pm for reception closure, but you decided to ignore that for whatever reason... We can’t wait up for people at all hours of the night… No other job works 12 hours per day…” Our email said 10pm ETA, since that option was available on the website. Further, after our stay, they sarcastically thanked us for leaving rubbish on the bathroom floor (not true at all), and seemed to accuse me of lying when I let them know our schedule was delayed because we were told Homer Tunnel was closing that night, saying it wasn't closed and asking how I managed to communicate if I was in Milford Sound the previous night since there is no cell service there (even though the restaurant and hotel at Milford Sound has wifi to send emails…). They also weren’t there in reception at 9:30am for checkout. The room was comfortable, but the immediate snarky attitude and subsequent unprofessionalism was so off-putting it made me regret giving my business to this place.
