This Hyatt Place Hotel went above and beyond the normal overnight stay. It is clean, beautiful, and comfortable. The staff were so accommodating and helpful, in every department - check-in, breakfast, and the house keeping team. I HIGHLY recommend this hotel.

Almost our entire baseball team stayed at this hotel for our tournament a couple of weeks ago, and it was a great stay according to everyone, even the most picky (me). We travel often and stay in hotels often, and you just never know! Ample space, clean hotel and rooms, friendly front desk staff. Plenty of towels, nice amenities and a great breakfast that stayed on later than most hotels. I think it was until 9, and it was unique both mornings I went down. The only complaint I have is that the vanity is open to the bedroom, if that makes sense, so when I got up early to get ready the light bothered others that wanted to sleep in. It was easy to overlook since everything else was perfect. It's rare! Lots of places to eat nearby. Highly recommend.
Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Dallas Plano/The Colony

I booked a room through a Travelocity at Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Dallas Plano/The Colony on Saturday May 18, 2024. When I arrived at the hotel, I checked in with the front desk rep Jennifer. I said to her “every time I check into a hotel my room is always by the elevator”. Jennifer stated yeah that is because you booked with a third party and we do not like third parties. I looked up at her and said I do not always use a third party to book my hotel rooms. Can you please make sure I am not next to the elevator. Jennifer stated your room is not next to the elevator and if it is come back down to the front desk and I will move you. I was in a rush to get to my family and friends so I did not have time to go back and forth with Jennifer and the way she was talking to me as if because I am getting the room and a cheaper rate I should accept whatever room I get. When I got off the elevator, I immediately notice my room was in fact next to the elevator. Again I was too busy and didn’t want to be labeled as the angry black woman that booked on a third party app, because I can’t afford the rate without going through a third party. The next day when I checked out of the room, I explained to Alisha at the front desk what happen. She apologized for Jennifer’s behavior. Alisha stated that it should not matter how the guest booked their rooms. If we request not to be put in a room they can look in the computer to ensure that they are not in a room near the elevator or etc. if the rooms are available. I always stay at a Marriott hotel branch but after this experience. I need to look in to other options if I am going to be treated a certain way if I book through a third party. It should not be offered if the guest are going to be treated different. I hope that I do not have to deal with this ever again and if that is the true case. Marriott should look into other options to book their rooms to the public.

*lengthy review* I stayed there with my family/friends in late July.we had a total of 4 rooms. The hotel itself was very nice. But we had the worst experience I’ve ever had at any hotel in my life!!. While we were very excited to meet up with family in the area and We all got dressed and fancy up for a dinner outting. Had an amazing time in the Dallas area. To wake up to these disgusting little red bite marks ALL OVER OUR BODIES. I spoke to the manager via email about the issue to only be accused of getting hit by fire ants. FIRE ANTS!!! There’s NO WAY my family and I got bit by fire ants and DIDNT know. We were fine when we went to sleep and woke up covered in these Insanely itchy bites. When we got back home I was advised to wash everything we took into the room. I check our luggage with a flashlight Which there, I found a dead bed bug. A disgusting BED BUG!!! I’ve never in my life seen one of these or even been bit by these. The manager at this property obviously didn’t believe me and customer serve didn’t seem to care either. They just said a claim was made. The property supposedly had someone “check” the room to find “nothing” I don’t believe that at all. There’s no way we got bit by fire ants or anything else (all over our bodies) without knowing. It obviously happened in our sleep. I’m furious with the dismissal of our situation. I was a Marriott employee at the time and I thought soo highly of my company and how great we took care of our customers. UNTIL this stay. I wouldn’t recommend staying at this property to anyone. I find it absolutely unacceptable that whenever I woke to in the customer service center claimed WE were the ones that brought it with us. I have children at home and now have to pay an exterminator to make sure my home isn’t infected. I can’t imagine how many other people have had to deal with this and get the same response from there in-caring management.
