Fantastic Sunday Dinner and the home made deserts are to die for. Exclent friendly service, couldn't do enough for us. Have been a number of times and the food is delicious ever time. Well worth a visit, gets busy, so I advise, ring and book a table well before your visit. 😋❤️ Can't wait to go again.

My husband and I stopped here for just one night, what a little gem of a place. Living just outside London, I had forgotten that pubs like this still existed. We stayed in Room 5 and the bed in there was just the best. I had the best nights sleep in a long while. Breakfast can only be described as 'the breakfast of kings'. The welcome and service was great but the meal we had was very mediocre. I had the steak and ale pie and the meat in it was quite tough like it hadn't been cooked long enough, the puff pastry lid was nice and there was plenty of gravy. The seasonal veg was very bland and limp looking. My husband had the fisherman's basket which was a mix of squid, prawns and fish bites which he said was OK. We both chose chips and these were nice. I had sticky toffee pudding for dessert and whilst it was nice it was just a plain sponge and didn't have any dates in it which is the traditional recipe. Hubby had New York style cheesecake which again was OK. All in all the staff were very pleasant but the meal was disappointing which is a shame as it is a nice pub!

Fantastic meal with family. The food was really good, and the sticky toffee pudding was Devine. Thoroughly enjoyed banter with Dean. Rob was so nice, and John saw to our every need. (Sorry John , forgot to leave tip) Shaun was very entertaining! The only downside: I wasn't allowed to take a souvenir.

Last minute booking, will 100% recommend this place, friendly welcoming staff that go above and beyond no matter the time of day! After a fair few hours of driving this is what we needed to be welcomed with open arms and a drink at the ready. Will definitely be returning in the future! Would just like to write a review on the Thornton hunt Inn that we visited earlier today for our little girls 2nd birthday meal. We had the most fantastic time and the staff made us feel so welcome from us arriving to us leaving. The atmosphere was lovely and the setting of the establishment was beautiful. The gardens were well maintained and after the meal we enjoyed sitting outside in the beautiful sunshine. Our little girl can sometimes be a little weary in new places but the staff couldn't do enough to make her feel at ease. The food was absolutely delicious and the portions were very generous. We were checked on throughout the whole meal and were given the opportunity to make any comments but all of our party had nothing but praise throughout. We were a large party and all meals came out at the same time and everyone really enjoyed their meals. The experiece was made so personal and we enjoyed spending time with the owner of the business who made every effort to ensure we had a great time. Shaun the dog was a brilliant extra, especially as our little girl loves animals. She had so much fun playing with him in the garden. Nothing at all was too much trouble and it was such an enjoyable experience from start to finish. Staff even joined in to sing happy birthday with us. Will definitely visit again as this is one of the nicest places we've been in a long time. An absolute hidden gem. As much as she didn't want to wear her hairnet at the meal, she had plenty of fun with it when she got home 😂 so the last picture is for the owner 👍
