We were very lucky to get a last minute cancellation, so off we drove from Stockholm (about an hour's drive). Arrived too early to check in, but registered our car for the free parking. Checked in after our long lunch at "Fina fisken" nearby. Our impression was that the room we received (120) had possibly been renovated quite recently. Compact bathroom (same sort of size we have at home, so not a problem for us). The ONLY possible comments I would have about the room would be the lack of coffee/tea making facilities (not a big deal, but nice to have). In addition, I'm wondering whether the bed had possibly seen its better days. They were SOFT (with a capital S). Having said that, we WILL be back, but next time, I'll question the bed softness. Anyway ..... later, time for dinner. I have to be honest, after our lunch, I can't say we were hungry, but some times you have to make a sacrifice for king and country. Our waitress' name was Nenya and she was BRILLIANT. My wife had a problem with her main course (the meat was tough as it can be sometimes). It's always interesting with hotels/restaurants when they receive a LEGITIMATE complaint (which this was). No discussion, just replace it with a new dish. Afterwards, we decided to eat our desserts with coffee and rum outside. Nenya and her colleague came out to us and were SO apologetic about the main course and treated us to both coffee and the desserts. Now, I consider that really good service (in reality, we tried to say that it wasn't necessary and that they had handled the whole situation impeccably, but no, they insisted). Till Stadshotellet. Ni har jätte duktiga medarbetare. We look forward to our next visit there.
