I discovered that the hotel was contracted to house illegals. Hallways smelled, room was not clean, no housekeeping service. No breakfast choices, I was just handed a plate of food the first day of a biscuit, gravy and fried potatoes. There was a cold cereal and coffee, juice machine was out of order. The second day, all the tables in the restaurant were full and there was about 100 people in line to get their plate of food which that day was eggs, fried potatoes and a bagel. Did not eat breakfast there. The grounds were not maintained , lots of trash in the courtyard, the pool was green. Tried to call the front desk when the key quit working, no one answered. Outer door was propped open one night with a rock.

Everything was great except for a barking dog in a room close by, some children running in the halls, and someone pounding on their door to be let in because they forgot their card key, this was not the staffs fault, just people not being respectful of others. The staff was excellent, very friendly and helpful, even the cleaning staff was friendly. The breakfast food was very good, prepared hot with the cook maintaining the food and keeping it clean. The rooms were very clean and they tidied up the room and cleaned the bathroom and brought in all clean towels and new toiletries. When we next visit Tucson, I will use this hotel again. There was a fitness room that had everything that most people would want, but we were too tired to use it.

First of all, this is an older hotel. The bathrooms are set up with the the sink in the corner. This is how Hampton Inns were designed when they first started in the mid 1980’s. When I walked in, the first thing I noticed was an odor. It was most prominent in the bathroom, but I smelled it in the room itself. The odor didn’t go away and was very stinky. We stayed in a King room. There was a lot of room to move around. There was a comfy side chair so that I didn’t have to sit on the bed all evening. One of the positives is that the bathroom has a stand up shower instead of of a tub shower. (As a Senior adult I am always a little nervous stepping into a tub.) The carpet in the halls needs to be replaced. It was pretty nasty. Breakfast was a zoo. There were about 30-40 school kids staying at the hotel. They were monopolizing the waffle machine, so I looked for an alternative. There wasn’t a meat option. The only hot items were potatoes and egg white omelets. I had oatmeal, which was good. There seemed to be plenty of parking. I am a Hilton Honors member and I used points for this stay, so I hate to be very negative, but if I was choosing a place to stay in Tucson again, I would probably go somewhere else.

Wonderful location near the airport. The room was very spacious and quite comfortable. The pool is heat year round and was very nice to have available. The on site restaurant breakfast buffet was decent enough for the price. Complimentary cookies upon check-in was also a nice touch. Locked myself out of the room and it was not a hassle to get back in. Also, grabbing sna KS from the self serve kiosk and billing them to the room before swimming was super convenient.

This was the perfect end of my trip to Arizona for a 5 am flight the next morning out of Tuscon. Check-in staff were helpful and courteous. The hotel has a bar as well as a restaurant with a limited menu which just hit the spot. The bathroom was my dream bathroom. Due to a knee replacement that has not turned out as expected and both hips replaced, the walk in accessible shower with all the grab bars is what I would love to have in my house. And the mattress --- I would love to know the brand as it was nice and firm with no dips. I would stay here again in a heartbeat if I were in the area.
