Casa Malca is a Romantic, high end resort that catered to all our needs with superior attention. The food was delicately and beautifully presented. The staff were personable and friendly. The massage was out of this world. Diana Saldamando had magical and healing hands. My back aches restored and fixed with gentle and pointed attention. I highly recommend her! It was my birthday, and the staff treated me like a king. Our dining table was decorated with rose petals, spelling “Happy Birthday”. Philosophy’s restaurant manager offered us complimentary drinks and cake. The Concierge Manager offered us an upgrade with balloons and a bottle of champagne in the room!

I love Nueva Vida de Ramiro, can't believe I haven't reviewed it before! This was I think my fifth stay here (I have stayed at many different places on the Tulum beach in the past 20 years), and I'm trying to pull plans together for another visit this fall. It is truly the last of the old-school Tulum properties. Super laid back, quiet, rustic, family-owned. It's mostly a leave-you-alone place in general, but Ricardo is always available and happy to help when needed. The widest stretch of beach around, which gives plenty of elbow room even if the hotel is completely full--and they'll set up your chairs/shade how you like it and keep it that way. Even if it's during a time of sargassum (generally spring/summer), the depth of the beach allows you to still sit up and enjoy the beach without being too close to anything smelly--or you can dip in the cute and refreshing little pool. When there is sargassum, the staff is up early raking it up to keep things as nice as possible for guests. When there isn't sargassum, it's also nice to have a wider part of beach so people aren't walking right by your feet all day. Right now they don't have a beach bar or restaurant, so the beach is entirely for guests, which is becoming rare in Tulum and you'll notice the difference. This is still a place for enjoying the sound of the waves and the wind in the palm fronds, not thumping DJ music (or even ”chill” DJ music, lol). Total relaxation. No high heels (seriously, you'll sprain an ankle)! The breakfast across the street at Tamarindo is really great, though as someone wrote about earlier, there are a few recent quirks along the lines they mentioned. But the food is still great, and the space is a very cool place to start your day. Each room has a dedicated parking space, which is unusual in Tulum. They're tight spaces, to be sure, so don't plan on renting an Escalade, but for most normal small rentals, plenty of room. Nueva Vida also takes their environmental duties very seriously, also now sadly becoming unusual in Tulum. They'll be happy to tell you about what they do, but there are little signs around in the gardens along the paths to point some things out. Some folks in earlier reviews have mentioned loud music from a club across the road. It's my understanding that bar has been permanently closed, and the NVR owners are determined no one like that takes that space again. Trying to think of other things to say--comfortable beds, large rooms, a/c on the overnight in several rooms (check the website for which ones), big decks, hammocks, Adirondack chairs, easy walking distance to lots of other restaurants, and even the ”party zone”, thankfully far enough away not to be heard. Oh, and don't miss the ”Tulumunchies” food truck/bar spot across the road and south/left a few hundred yards (across from La Zebra). Beautiful looking hotel in a convenient center town location. Rooms are small but have everything you need. Food and drinks are great when they get to you because service is a bit slow so order with enough time. Nonetheless we were treated nicely by the staff. The rooftop pool and the view from there is gorgeous.

Great place with a great location. Right on the road to the beach and yet very close to the city centre. Staff are very very helpful polite and professional. Rooms are big and clean! We stayed 2 nights and decided to extend for another night. The restaurant on premises has excellent food. We've ordered ceviche everywhere we went on our 3 week trip in Mexico and this was top 3! Good value for money too. Our server Carlos at the restaurant was amazing. Very good energy and super attentive. We highly rate this place 👌🏻

Bungalow direttamente sulla spiaggia, arredato con gusto, molto accogliente e pulito. Ci ha ricevuti Massimo ed è stato davvero gentile, amichevole e professionale, con consigli, suggerimenti e un cocktail di benvenuto. Colazione ottima e anche i piatti che abbiamo assaggiato per pranzo squisiti! Ceviche super! Massaggio con Perla consigliatissimo! Uniche due cose che si possono mogliorare: la location del massaggio e l'acqua della doccia non sempre calda.

Really appreciated that the hotel is centrally located and isn’t gated and sequestered from the local people of Tulum. During our stay, the staff was awesome, they were welcoming and helpful and we really enjoyed the space. Thank you Zendero!

I usually don’t leave reviews, but after this wild experience, I had no choice. I was absolutely disgusted by the treatment I received at this hotel. I booked the hotel for a women’s retreat and interacted with 3 different people over the course of my time at the hotel. The first person checked us in and I informed him that Oke of the participants had COVID and wouldn’t be attending and the other person would be staying with me to nanny for my child. He said okay he would let the manager know and they would remove it from the bill. He took a deposit for the 5 rooms ($50 per day). He told us breakfast was served at the sister hotel, Zenses and we should eat there after yoga in the morning. He also informed us that while the website says bikes are complimentary, they don’t offer bikes and the beach is actually an hour away, not 30 minutes! What the hell? The next day, another woman asked for the remaining balance on the room. I asked if that was customary because I am used to paying that upon departure and she said yes, so I paid the balance. The day before our departure, I interacted with a 3rd woman who was very rude, impatient and said she was charged two rooms that weren’t even in my party for breakfast. I told her breakfast was included. I asked for her name. She refused to give it to me so I sent a screenshot of her to the manager and he failed to respond. She called the manger and both of them very rudely said breakfast was not included and told me they would be charging me for the room my nanny didn’t use and for breakfast, even though it was included. I requested a print out of my payment. They couldn’t provide it for a while and finally provided a document that was inaccurate I challenged them and questioned them over and over and they failed to address the issue or provide any type of resolve. I also advocated for bikes and when we took them out, the pedal fell off and we had to rely on the help of strangers to get us back because no one at the hotel was willing to come get us or support the issue. In addition, our rooms were not cleaned daily, despite the multiple requests. I had to come and get tissue, washcloths and empty the trash. Absolutely terrible service! I have been going back and forth with the “owner” for a while and he has ceased responding because there is 0 accountability. There’s also construction across the street constantly and wild dogs running around, it’s just not worth it. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!!! IT’S NOT WORTH THE HEADACHE!!
