Beautiful location. Unfortunately we had to wait over an hour and a half to check in, after being told multiple times our room would be ready in another 10 minutes. Restaurant ran out of key menu items. Felt understaffed but the staff that were there did their best.

The amount that was paid for the room did not match what was promoted. The fridge did not work and our frozen time melted. The bathroom smelt like sewerage. When we told them, they just noted it down and there was nothing done about it. The grounds are lovely but the rooms are really old and need updating and deep cleaning- dust and rust. The pool was great. But we won’t be staying here again.

I loved my stay! Beach was super close, rooms were nice and modern. The little take away cafe was affordable for a quick bite to eat. Would stay again.

Super disappointed, terrible stay. Would expect much more for a 4-star resort and for what we paid. I stayed here for 6 nights with my husband and 16 month old toddler in a Suite. So many negative things to say, would not recommend. - On arrival at 3pm, our room wasn’t ready, so we needed to wait. - The room was outdated and dirty. Spiderwebs in the corners, mirror had large specs of discolouration, doors would not open, close or lock properly. Reminded me of a camping cabin. - After our first night, we found a whole lot of bugs had come into our room underneath the door (and had died) and the floor was all wet. I tried to contact Reception and it took 6 redials before somebody finally answered. I voiced my concern and they didn’t seem apologetic at all, they just said they would send somebody to “fix it”. It sounded like it happens regularly. For the remainder of our stay, we had to put extra towels at the bottom of the door to prevent any more bugs from getting in. Sola Bar and the Pool area look beautiful, but was also very disappointed in our experience here. The menu selection and food is average. We were looking forward to the “Brazilian BBQ Special” on Saturday night. However when we went to order at 7:30pm, we were told that the special had already “sold out”. Ridiculous! So we decided to order two pizzas instead and a kids meal for our son. It took 1.5hrs to come out! I hope this Novotel undergo some big changes to ensure their guests are happy in the future.

Clean and comfortable. Good fanily resort experience

The hotel didn't have many activities, small pool area for the size of the hotel, dining options limited however staff is very friendly and helpful.

Love the full cocktail bar right near the pool so I could have a drink while still keeping an eye on the kids in the pool.

There was a huge line up at reception due to a Snap On Conference that we weren't advised of when booking. The room was good, the top of the fan was covered in thick dust, the toilet wasn't cleaned properly and the bathroom mirror had desilvering on one side. Apart from that, everything else looked clean. Breaky the next morning, again a huge line up due to the conference and when we got to the hot breakfast buffet it was cold. This happened for all three mornings of our stay. The coffee was also cold unless you ordered separately in which case you had to pay. Given our three nights cost us $2190 (breaky was $35pp per day included in the rate) I had higher expectations so was overall disappointed in our stay.

Dining options were very basic but an overall enjoyable experience

There was only one thing to like - leaving. We paid $640 for a night in a room that had cockroaches, white sticky patches covering holes in the bathroom tiles, no fly screens so mosquitos came in the minute you went onto the balcony, and no one to help with luggage. We lugged it along corridors that were similar to what I'd expect in a prison - brise block and cement, puddles of water full of old leaves, concrete staircases (no lift) - and for $640 a night? Maybe halve that and it'd be almost acceptable. Then there was the pool full of beatles - thousands of them. No staff on site to fix it. Then try calling reception - no one answers the phone. Then the restaurants and bars shut by 9.30pm. We only arrived at 8pm and couldn't get anything to eat. Instead we were greeted by a receptionist who informed us if we 'didn't wreck our room we'd get our deposit back'. We're a 50 something couple - did we truly need such a warning? This hotel has pretensions it cannot live up to. Charge $200 a night and people may accept the shoddy service, badly maintained rooms, and below par resort experience.

Hotel lobby, restaurant and pool area were beautiful, however as soon as you got past that the walkways were dirty, holes in ceilings, signage giving directions to rooms and laundries were faded or missing. Online map was inaccurate. Room was dated, however neat and tidy, but certainly not clean.

This property has so much potential but is terribly maintained and extremely dated. There are holes in the ceilings and walkways around the property. The rooms are very dated and not well maintained. The carpets are dirty and musty; and the bathrooms are unclean. The rooms are seriously akin to a motel; definitely not a 4 star hotel! The check in experience was unsatisfactory. We arrived at 3pm for a 2pm check in, only to be informed that our room wouldn't be ready for another hour. To the credit of the staff. they provided us with a drinks voucher. We came back at 4pm but was again informed that the room wouldn't be ready for another hour. When I asked for a late check out to account for the delay in checking in, they then managed to provide an alternative room to us. The food at the resort is ordinary and no where close in quality and selection to other Novotel hotels. The only good thing about the resort is the big lagoon and friendly staff who are doing their best to help customers. Hotel Management needs to seriously consider doing major upgrades to the rooms and facilities; and improve the food standards. They should look at what has been done to the resorts in the Gold Coast that have received major upgrades to rooms and facilities.

Rooms are old really old. Lagoon and very soft towels are the only good things.
