Smooth check-in process having uploaded passport details prior. Very friendly staff who took us to our room explained breakfast, mini bar, safe, wifi, door codes etc. Room 104 street view with balcony, spacious bathroom & walk in closet & AC. Lovely comfortable bed, spare pillows & duvet. Breakfast on roof top was plentiful, with amazing. Must mention Alesandro on internship from his school in Italy who was very knowledgable on the Maltese breakfast dishes & spoke fantastic English & an alround delight to talk to in general. Also the Manager took time to chat about the history of the building, which was ineresting. Location was perfect for us, amazing restaurants & live music bars in the vicinty. We loved Valletta & will definately return ❤️

It's hard to fault this amazing hotel. It's in a great location, close to the centre, but on a quiet side street. Have never been to a hotel where every single member of staff was so helpful - they really made our holiday! One small example - we casually asked what was happening on Victory Day and one of the staff did some research and printed it all out while we had breakfast. There is a very funky little bar with certain drinks (wine, prosecco, beer) free for residents from 6-7pm, along with treats such as tiny pasties, pizzas, cheese and olives. It was a lovely way to start the evening and get to know our fellow guests. We stayed in room 403, which has a large terrace with a hot tub. It was wonderful to have our own private outside space. The hotel are currently installing a small pool and bar on the rooftop, which we are told has amazing views, so it should be even better in the future. The location is handy for the ferry to Sliema, from where you can take a harbour cruise. There is also a small convenience store 2 minutes walk away. Had some excellent meals out, but would strongly recommend booking restaurants in advance as many of them were turning people away. One of our favourites was Rubino - very personal service, great food and very good value for money.

Perfect stay. Beautiful room, very spacious and had everything we needed. Was more like an apartment with fitted kitchen, small living area etc. was lovely to return to after a busy day, smart tvs so access to Netflix prime Disney etc. rooftop pool was stunning and although small, we always got a sun lounger and parasol. Very relaxing and stylish. We had family in the area so we had access to a car so cannot comment on the immediate area much. Short taxi ride to sliema or Valletta. Use bolt taxi app as cheaper than Uber (about €7) reception staff were lovely and really wanted to make sure we were happy and had everything we needed. Very secure hotel. Small cafe in road facing hotel had best English breakfast and very friendly service would 100% recommend a visit. There is a bus stop round side of hotel and I believe Bugiba and mellieha bay are reachable from here, or bolt taxi €28 to ferry for blue lagoon comino island. All in all fantastic place at a brilliant price 😊

The room was modern and clean. The construction of the room was not very good, in the morning you could hear people coughing and flushing the toilet in the next room. The indoor pool was dirty and the spa was cold- the jets were spraying cold water. In the middle of the day, maintenance decided to demolish something in the room next door which made a lot of noise, had to call them three times before the noise was stopped. In general very noisy hotel for two reasons; no1. constant drafts which made the room doors slam. No2 a big group of youth which were running an talking loudly in the corridors until midnight. Overall the location of the hotel is very good, but if you want to have a quiet relaxing holiday this is not the place.

Excellent place to stay in the heart of St. Julian’s. Had a very pleasant stay after a horrific experience in a nearby hotel (Carlton Hotel). Anna the receptionist was a wonderful person, I asked to see the room prior to booking it and she did plus all her help for me during my 4 days stay. The room was outstanding with a beautiful big balcony right on the bay with wonderful views. The room was well maintained and super clean with everything you can need. Large king bed with fluffy linen and good pillows. There was hair dryer and water heater, coffee & tea. Also a mini fridge and modern furniture. Bathroom was small but very clean and modern with no issues. Elevator is small but fairly new. Breakfast was also included. Palmena the manager was also very welcoming. Vishnu the male receptionist was very nice upon my checkout and held my bags as I was leaving town later in the day. Special thanks to Anna as she made sure everything was comfortable and that I’m happy with my stay. Definitely coming back and very highly recommended.

The hotel has a perfect location. I will come back ,I loved it. However improvements are needed: Breakfast:Fruit juices are terribly diluted to make things worse served on 10Cl glasses. Better pastries would be welcome. Room needed repairs broken floortiles. Elevators have seen better days. A 4 E coke at the pool is rather extensive. But still I loved the hotel.

Starting with the information - we stayed at So City as a young couple (who arent particularly into nightclubs/bars) to see Matla for the first time over a week. I have given this a 'benefit-of-the-doubt' rating due to the hotel being incredibly new. We picked So City Hotel because of the value, it was incredibly well priced. I'd imagine this is a strategy due to it being so new but it was certainly well worth the price we paid. On to the hotel as a whole - I feel this is definitely aimed toward capturing people coming to Malta for some night life. Its positioned so that no more than 10 seconds from leaving the lobby, you can be in a bar, and their are some nice bars surrounding. That said, we werent there for that - but this location also meant that finding an evening meal, or a quick early night drink was incredibly easy. Exploring the island was also very easy from here, Valletta was a very short journey, and as we had opted to rent a car, there was a carpark about 5 minutes walk away (Pengardens) which is reasonably priced for over night parking, and we never struggled for a space. The room was very comfortable, and the mattress was perfect and bedding very soft and comfortable. Our upgraded room was also incredibly spacious. The theming is a nice touch and makes the room a bit more characterful and individual. Staying on the 7th floor, there was minimal noise at night, altough id be concerned if we needed to keep the window open.... The black out curtains were also amazing for keep the room dark for a little bit of extra sleep. Constructive criticism for the room would be: The shower tempurture is difficult - the hottest setting is insanely hot (my other half loves hot showers but this was too much for her also) and it wouldnt go cold, just cooler, it also seemed to get colder through out the shower and you found yourself adjusting. There is not a lot of storage at all for longer stays. This is perhaps a by product of it feeling aimed towards 'nightlifers' who might stop 3 nights or so. I would perhaps ask reception for additional hangers if you have plenty of clothes for a longer stay. The mini fridge, altough useful, is not big enough to put larger water bottles in, which can be annoying. The aircon unit is situated in a place which means it blows directly at the bed. I tried to play with the control but there was no way to adjust it that I could find. Im trying to cool the room, not refridgerate myself. The timer on the aircon also didnt seem to work, so setting it the blow for 30 mins whilst i went to sleep just didnt seem to work. The TV is not a full smartTV which is a shame. Just channels and an internet browser, which are never nice to navigate around.... On to other notes: Breakfast is just what you need. Its not an all out buffett where there is everything you could dream of, but there is more than enough and a few items cycle so you can expect a slightly different breakfast each morning. When we arrived for check in we had problems with the booking as we was given the wrong room type by the supplier as we booked partial sea view room and we was checked into elegant non balcony room. The room was not what was expecting and we was disappointed and it ruined our stay at the hotel and the hotel was fully booked so we couldnt switch to the room we payed for. But we did get alot of help from Theo who worked in the reservations department. He tryed his best to accommodate us to the right room he was very friendly and polite and kept us updated all the time on the process, but unfortunately the hotel was fully booked, Though it wasent the hotels fault it was trip.com/expedia he offered breakfast for free during our whole stay at the hotel as a consultation for all the hassle during the stay. Trip.com did offer to reimburse the money we had lost paying for the pricer room type while we was staying in a lower cost room, but we was disappointed in the compensation trip.com offered us and this ruined our whole holiday. And apparently this has happened on many occasions to other guests so my suggestion is the definately call the hotel of your booking agency to confirm your room.
