Villa Kerasy Hotel Spa

A beautiful, peaceful hotel in Vannes. High quality accommodation. Great sense of tranquillity yet located close to the train station. Easy walking to the centre of Vannes yet the station gives you a chance to explore the Brittany area further afield. Vannes is a great place to explore - the medieval centre plus numerous top class markets and places to eat. Villa Kerasy has a great team of responsive staff who look after you thoroughly and deal with any questions you might have. You certainly don't feel like an anonymous customer!

Our second stay, this time with our children! Lovely big rooms which were adjoining - ideal for a family of four. Lovely warm historic interiors. Only a few minutes walk from the old centre of Vannes and just across the road from the TGV station.

Despite the location right opposite the train station, Villa Kerasy feels like a garden oasis, especially if you choose one of rhe ground floor garden rooms with their own mini courtyard: sip your tea and listen to the birds chittering. Tea/coffee facilities in each room. The staff were - without exception - discreetly attentive and always smiley.

No complaints about this hotel. Our room which faced the back was quiet and had a private patio surrounded by a wall and fence keeping out any street noise. There’s a small parking lot behind the building (not big enough for everyone) but there is some street parking in the area. The Vannes train station is literally across the street which may be convenient for some. We never heard the trains from our room in the rear. The walk to the northern tip of old town is 10 minutes (20 minutes if you’re going to the port on the south side). I don’t mind walking but the it isn’t through a charming part of town. It’s not sketchy, but theres really nothing of interest. We declined breakfast at the hotel and instead picked up pastries at Boulangerie pâtisserie Lyautey, a 6-min walk south from the hotel.

The location is excellent: close to the old town (with wonderful restaurants), and close to the station. I suggest that you ask for a room facing the rear, as these are the quietest. The bed is comfortable - but the bathroom is a bit old fashioned, and the wooden floor in the bedroom is not luxurious. Secure parking is free - but you should pre-book. Breakfast is OK - but the water is not hot enough for tea. Coffee is from a machine. Overall, we would visit again.

We stayed two nights in Villa Kerasy and were thrilled. The hotel feels so loved and fresh and clean and professional and the mainly female owners/ managers go above and beyond to ensure you have a faultless stay. We were welcomed by Marie who was patient with me whilst I practised my French and who took us up to our sunlit room whilst explaining a little of the history of the hotel which was once a bra factory until it was lovingly transformed into a four star hotel with charm. Each room is named after a town which would have been a stopover on a trip from Brittany to India and is furnished in the style of its namesake country so there is lots of teak and bright fabrics. All food and in room teas and biscuits were of a superior quality . The inclusive breakfast with home made bread, cakes, eggs, fruit, yogurts and delicious freshly squeezed orange juice actually reminded me of a wellness destination -there is also a spa and hamman which we didn't have time to use as had a packed itinerary . The public areas are beautifully furnished in restful shades of green and blue with coffee and lemon infused water dispensers freely available Everything was thought, Maria even delivered a few more sachets of Tilleul tea to our room one night as I had ben asking her about it ( linden flower and very soothing) The hotel is situated in a residential street about five or six minutes from the gorgeous walled town. We could have stayed longer easily. Try the Tilleul tea and buy some delicious home made regional food from the little pop up shop near reception. Charging stations and secure parking were very welcome .
