Hestasport Cottages

Keys need to be collected at Hestasport Reception (navigation). It is a drive away from the cottages! We arrived late night (after first making our way to the cottages and realising that reception was at another location) however was cheerfully met by reception and a very friendly dog! 😊 Pleasantly surprised to find unit aesthetics exceeding our expectations irl. It was comfortable and cosy. We managed to soak in the hot tub after an early breakfast as we were too tired and too cold when we checked in. It was amazing, though slightly windy it wasnt as cold as we had expected. We also managed to catch a beautiful sunrise. Definitely recommend early morning soak as it is calm, quiet and most probably less popular time. Hope that you will have an awesome time at Hestasport as we did!

入住辦理交鑰匙的地方和入住的木屋有2公里遠，儘量在有人時取鑰匙，不然你找不到你的住的小屋。小屋環境不錯，如果有極光用小木屋做前景拍照很好。幾個木屋圍繞一個温泉水池，可以泡一泡，房間裏廚具齊全，有微波爐，有烤箱。我們在阿克雷裏小豬超市買的醃好的羊排烤好吃的很香。房間電暖器温度可調。

太推薦這個小木屋了，太美好了，房間很大很温馨，有廚房設施，鍋碗瓢盆一應俱全，屋裡有四組暖氣，非常給力，屋外十米有公用的免費泡池，巨大巨好，太享受了，注意辦理入住的地方在一號公路旁邊，和駐地不在一起。

環境不錯，遠離馬路，方便第二天去參加藍冰洞

Hestasport cottages was our favorite stay in Iceland! The cottages are adorable, clean, well-stocked, and the beds are comfy. The hot tub is incredibly lovely - they keep it quite hot and clean. I cannot more highly recommend this place - we actually changed our trip around to be able to spend another night here. We found it to be so beautiful and quiet, while still very easy to get to.

Hestasport cottages are not just a place to stay, it's a whole world of experience. It's a truly magical environment of a few good size traditional wooden cabins nestled on top of a hill above the village with a hot tube in the middle. We rented the biggest one and I highly recommend it for a family especially of you stay for a few days like we did. The cabin was very clean, nicely decorated, high ceilings and full of natural light. We cooked at home every evening and found the kitchen to be very well equipped. Finding the place was very easy. Like they told us, as long as you understand that the reception is not where the cottages are, not a problem at all. Communication with the management was very smooth. We too initially had booked for 2020 but had to cancel due to to covid and they graciously refunded us. Finally we managed to stay and we loved every minute of it. In the area I highly recommend to visit the 1238 The battle of Iceland museum and virtual experience, have a cold one in Retro Mathus in Hofsos, visit the stunning waterfalls of Reykjafoss, Glaumbaer traditional houses etc. We didn't do horse riding but saw a lot of riders and looked like fun. There is also white river rafting nearby. The area is so beautiful, plenty to do and staying in this stunning place is a truly authentic experience.

The location is perfect for admiring the northern lights. Our cottage was so comfortable, spacious and cosy. The hot tub is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy some outside time in the snow. We also loved the little forest close by which offers lovely walks to the top for a beautiful sunset view over the Fjord. The highlight was meeting the horses and enjoying a magical outride to the Reykjafoss Waterfall with the kind & knowledgeable team of Hestasport - Sara & Felicia made us feel so welcome.

We were looking forward to staying here on our tour of the ring road, the setting is lovely and a great area for horse riding but we did not enjoy our stay, The kitchen and bathroom were clean but there was thick dust on the blinds and shelves, we had one small hand towel for the bathroom each, one old lumpy pillow each and the hut had several hanging sheep skins which in view of the dust were not great. There was a hard sort of sofa which I guess was a sofa bed and two foldable wooden chairs outside which were ok for a short time. The kitchen was well equipped but the vegetable knife was blunt and wouldn't slice the onions. The shower was fine but everywhere smelt of sulphur which was overpowering at times. it was fine for one night but we wouldn't recommend to friends.

Excellent cottage, we where a bit said that we only stayed one night. It is at easy distance from ringroad 1, we cooked our own meal, and we enjoyed the hottub late in the evening, bathrobes provided. The surroundings are nice to look at.
