Hotel 4 bintang Venice

I have recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Indigo St Elena in Venice for 4 nights with my 18yr old son. He was due to come to Venice for a school art trip that was cancelled due to covid, and I'd always promised I'd take him. Having worked hard to finish his A-levels this summer, it was the perfect opportunity to visit and Hotel Indigo was the perfect mix of location and style we hoped it would be. Pros: *Cleanliness & Styling: The room and hotel were spotlessly clean. I adored the modern, cool contemporary styling. *Comfortable Accommodation: Though our inner garden room was quite compact, it was equipped with a very comfortable bed and a lovely bathroom. The provided toiletries, bathrobe, and slippers were appreciated touches. The garden, in particular, gave an exclusive feeling, which added to the charm of the place. *Fabulous Breakfast: The breakfast was an absolute treat! From pastries and cakes to meats and cheeses, the options were abundant, with hot options of scrambled eggs and bacon. The setting in the bar area for breakfast was also lovely. *Breakfast Tip: For Brits asking for tea, make sure to ask for milk, as it's not automatically served. *Prime Location: The hotel's location was fantastic and well-connected to the Vaporetto. St Elena is serviced by number 1 (the Grand Canel route, which can be very busy and slow but scenic), No.6, 4.1/4.2 (get to Murano on this one) and the 5.1 /5.2. We used it multiple times a day, going back and forth. The nearby Via Guiseppe Garibaldi street, with its local eateries, shops and mini supermarket, was a more authentic experience of local life seemingly popular with native dwellers with a lovely bustle about it, but not touristy like further down near San Marco. Overall I found St Elena to be a serene retreat from Venice's bustling streets. * Special mention: to the lovely older lady at reception who checked us in and out. Sorry, I should have noted her name. She wore a UK flag badge, and I think either German or Spanish one. Her English was great and she was very knowledgeable and helpful too. * Luggage storage: It was fantastic to be able to store our bags on arrival as we landed early morning. Check-in was 3 pm, but the lady (mentioned above) was very kind enough to call us to let us know the room was ready for us to access earlier. Likewise, on check out, our flight wasn't until 21.50 and we were able to leave our bags for the day and have a hassle-free full day out. Cons: * AC Issue: One downside was the AC which would only go down to 19°C, and running day and night at this temperature, the room never got particularly cool. Luckily we had some cooler weather days, but I suspect the room would feel quite warm with sustained hot weather *Tea & Coffee Refills: You are provided with two cans of water, a selection of tea and coffee and just two tiny pots of milk (1 per cup) - these we not replenished again when our room was serviced, and I had to ask multiple times for mor

Hotel stile tradizionale veneziano in ottima posizione in riva alla laguna, servizi gondola in zona, fermata vaporetto, e letteralmente a due passi da piazza san marco. Stanze ottimamente rifinire e insonorizzate con tutti i confort da 4 stelle, e ristorante sala colazione con stupenda vista laguna e riva degli schiavoni. Permette di accedere ai principali musei di venezia di primo mattino e di evitare lunghissime code. Raccomandatissimo.

We stayed four nights at the end of March 2023. Location was excellent, staff members were friendly, jr suite was beautiful. Enjoyed the breakfast very much, nice variety and delicious. Private tour and gondola booked through the hotel were fantastic. Our stay was nice, but I can't say it was fantastic. Here is why: 1) I booked a jr suite many months in advance, and was assured a certain jr suite via email, per my request. When we checked in, we were shown to a different suite, much less desirable. It was basically a room with a tiny, dark alcove, not directly over the canal, that was categorized as ”jr suite”. I was very disappointed, and referenced the email I had received that confirmed the other jr suite. Luckily, after a few hours wait, they remedied the situation and produced the room that had originally been promised. A rather disappointing way to start. 2) Upon checkout, I was presented with the folio, informed that I could leave a gratuity for the staff... and was directed to a line to fill in a gratuity amount, with an ”x” drawn next to it to call my attention to it. I inquired about who exactly would receive the gratuity, and was given a vague answer of ”all the staff” We stayed at several other luxury properties in Italy, and none of them hinted or asked for a staff gratuity. I was so taken by surprise by this request for a gratuity that I inadvertently and regrettably left more than I should have, as I did not have time to think. This left me with a somewhat negative feeling and impression at the end of our stay, which was a shame. No Globalist recognition.

The hotel is ideally situated being just a short walk away from St Marks Square but in a quiet area with a few restaurants. It is perfectly accessible by water taxi. The hotel staff are what make this outstanding as they are all helpful, cheerful and go out of their way to fulfil every need. Special mention to the principal barman ( Runi?) who showed true interest in our day and suggested drinks to try. Breakfast was excellent with a good assortment of food and beverage. Our room (406) was small but comfortable with a safe, tea/coffee making facilities and comfortable twin beds. Will most certainly come back to this hotel as it was truly excellent.

Stayed at this hotel with my family from 11-13th of may 2023. I had chosen this hitel on the basis of the ratings on tripadvisor. These are my observations Advantages- Good location to major attractions, Palatial rooms with antique looking furniture and murano glass chandeliers Drawbacks - When we checked in we were told the rooms will be ready at 2 pm. So , we went and came back at 2.30 pm. The receptionist did not even speak to us. The key was given to the porter directly without telling us a word. Very rude and impolite for a hotel of this stature. - Though we were a family , the room was given next to a bar. None of us drinks alcohol. - There was only one charging point in the room much away from the bed. - Room service was very very slow. Only one bartender in the kitchen. We were told. - AC contol was not working. Preset to 21 deg. After complaining they reset to 24 deg but display showed only 21 deg I am a regular traveller. But this kind of a service for such a hotel was unexpected. Please avoid this hotel. There are many options in the same area.

The reviews of this hotel express the pros and cons very well. The location is excellent, close to San Marco but very quiet and in picturesque surroundings. It's extremely clean, and the decor and furnishings are in an elaborate Venetian tradition. We wanted to take the beautiful gilded mirror in our room home with us. But ... the breakfast really wasn't adequate to the hotel standard. Firstly, the room couldn't accommodate anything like enough people to serve the number of guests. A waiting time of half an hour was not unusual. Secondly, the food offerings (apart from the scrambled eggs, which were excellent) really weren't adequate. A few rather elderly-tasting croissants, jam dispensed by a plunger and thus completely liquid, no pastries to speak of, and tinned fruit (plus some melon pieces). It's hard to understand why it's so poor when the shops are bursting with wonderful produce. We had a Superior Room in the hotel itself, and it was very good - exceptionally comfortable bed, lovely furnishings. Having read the reviews, we insisted in advance on changing our Deluxe Room, which careful reading of the website revealed was in the annex, for the Superior in the hotel itself. We didn't go into the annex, but passed it every day. It's a good 100 yards from the hotel, in a quiet - indeed usually deserted - square, very dark in the evenings and with just a keypad entry for guests (no reception). It looks most unwelcoming, and could feel unsafe. So in summary, in the right room in the right section of the hotel, and planning to find breakfast outside, this is an excellent place to stay. But choose carefully....

Perfect location, near St Marco place and near water bus stops! Room was spacious, nearly refurbished. Nice design, comfortable and newly refurbished bathroom. I would add more sockets and change the plastic cups to usual porcelain. Also the card for making the bed should be visible! We missed our bed changes. The king bed was going apart constantly as it was made out of two single beds. I could not find any English channels on TV. In general the hotel is clean and staff is helpful. Breakfast is very basic but satisfying.

You can tell this ‘Palace Hotel’ was probably a premier hotel back in the day….but not so much anymore. Front desk staff was hit or miss. They spent a lot of time away from the desk. Shower in our room did not have a shower curtain or proper divider to contain water so bathroom would flood when you took a shower. Not good with marble floors. Instead of fixing the problem, they provide bath slippers. 1970’s blow dryer provided in room. The best part of the stay was the staff who worked the breakfast room. They were friendly and attentive.

We had a lovely stay at this hotel. I am honestly a little surprised by some of the negative reviews here. We stayed as a family - 2 adults and 3 teenage boys. We had a family room overlooking the canal. We opened the windows and listened to Venice go by. It was lovely. The hotel was small which was nice and very clean. Breakfast on the canal each morning was so nice. Staff were helpful and even walked us to our water taxi stop on the morning we left.
