We stayed the Victoria Hotel for one night before traveling further. We arrived early and were able to access our room early. The room was very modern and comfortable, the bed cozy and the shower excellent. Breakfast had a great variety of options. Booking tours was effortless ad walking to the Victoria Falls from the hotel was easy and safe. Loved the colonial feel.

The location of the hotel is very good and convenient to walk around in the little town. Our room was big and spacious but the furniture is quite old and basic. The room didn’t have any international plug in ports so it was a struggle to get my devices and equipment powered up.You might want to come up with your own adapters. The bathroom was clean but it’s a little small, kind of feels crowded. I didn’t get a change for meals but I’m sure I would have loved their pool menu.

Had quite a wonderful experience, staff was friendly, rooms were tidy and the meals were quite good. Very enjoyable stay. Couldn’t fault it. Loved the dining experience outside by the pool and the cultural entertainment. Beautiful site. The rooms were spacious and felt very private amongst the surrounding woodlands

Our family of 17 arrived at Ilala on Christmas Day. We had 6 regular rooms on the first level off the pool (some might complain, a little too close to the pool, but the teens staying with us didn’t mind) and the larger room with adjoining double room upstairs to accommodate one couple with 3 kids. We were greeted by staff and given paperwork to complete. Everyone was very nice and friendly. The rooms were clean and nice, especially the classic suite which was large and had a twin bed tucked away in an alcove for a young child to share the room with parents. Conveniently located to Victoria Falls and the river cruises (we did both while we were there) with meals provided in the Cassis restaurant and at the pool bar. Walking distance to 3 Monkeys, Victoria Falls Distillery and a lovely photographers gallery! You could venture across the railroad into town but you will be approached by locals looking to sell you things. We had hippos visit the watering hole the second evening before bedtime which was exciting. The dinner food was fine - not our favorite choices on the limited menu but all in all we had a lovely holiday stay. Highly recommend if you’re visiting the Falls.

Despite the price was a tad steep, everything was excellent during our trip. The driver of free shuttle service was so attentive to introduce each stop snd reminded the pick up time on our way to Victoria Falls. Room itself was small yet clean with spectacular waterhole view. Shortfall was our room was too far from the waterhole itself. Nonetheless their service and breakfast were of top notch and view from the restaurant was unbeatable. What a mesmerizing stay!

We stayed here for the final 2 nights of a 16 day safari, and it was the perfect way to end our trip. After days of sleeping in a tent, we were treated to plush beds, a hot rain shower with great water pressure, delicious (and adorable) food and drinks, and out of this world customer service. There was also a giant bath tub in the room, although we didn’t end up using it. A huge thank you up top to Thandeka, who works at the front desk. Say hi to her from Will and Laura if you visit. I hadn’t known that I would be proposing to my [now] fiancée until we were sitting at the hotel restaurant on our first evening there. The ambiance from the entry way to the room itself was incredibly relaxing, which is exactly what we needed. After I made the decision, one of the restaurant staff covertly gave me Thandeka’s personal (!) cell phone number to make the arrangements. After I texted her what I was hoping to do, Thandeka absolutely ran with it, creating a moment I never could have (and managed to keep it a secret from my significant other, which was incredibly difficult). The details are below, but basically I cannot recommend this place enough, primarily due to the legendary hotel staff. TLDR; Thandeka arranged for us to have a sunset cruise with Zambezi Vista, which came with a four course meal, an open bar, and more incredible customer service. On board, the captain (his name is Evidence) acted as the ultimate wingman, separating my fiancée and me long enough to give me flowers (also arranged by Thandeka), set up a cake, and get the champagne ready. He also filmed our moment. Once we got back to the hotel, Thandeka had arranged for another bottle of champagne in our room, more flowers, and a hand written note of congratulations.

I particularly appreciated the attention to detail in the decor, which reflected the local culture and history, without sacrificing comfort or luxury. The hotel's staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, always going above and beyond to ensure that my stay was a memorable one. Whether it was arranging for transportation to the falls or suggesting local activities and attractions, they were always available and eager to help. The food at the Azambezi Hotel was truly exceptional. The restaurant offered a wide range of delicious local and international cuisine, and the presentation was always impeccable. I particularly enjoyed the breakfast buffet, which featured a variety of fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Finally, the hotel's location was simply unbeatable. With its proximity to the Victoria Falls, I was able to explore the area easily and take in all the breathtaking natural beauty of this world wonder. The hotel also offers a range of activities, from river cruises to guided tours of the falls, ensuring that there was always something to do and see. In summary, the Azambezi Hotel is an outstanding destination that I would recommend to anyone looking for a luxurious and unforgettable experience in Zimbabwe's Victoria Falls. With its beautiful setting, exceptional service, and top-notch amenities, it truly exceeded my every expectation. Also if you are lucky you will see some animals roaming around the garden as I spotted this elephant at night in the car park!
