Hotel Vila Real de Santo António dengan Gim

Vila Real y Monte Gordo son dos destinos interesantes para practicar deporte (running, bicicleta, golf, etc.) y este Hotel reúne las características idóneas para ello. Localización cercana a las instalaciones deportivas, habitaciones preparadas para un buen descanso y un desayuno con opciones sanas, de calidad y adecuadas para deportistas.

Second time I’ve visited this hotel. It was clean and the staff were friendly and very helpful. Location is excellent with the beach a 10 min walk and the square a 5 min walk. There is also a spar 2 minutes away and lots of restaurants near by. On both occasions my room was spotless and there was a safe, free of charge which i thought was really good. The pool area was small but there were ample beds available due to the time of year. Sometimes I even had it to myself. Also very clean. Breakfast was simple but nice. A variety of cereals, breads, cheeses, meats and fruit. Then a small selection of hot food. (Eggs, beans and sausages). It’s definitely my go to hotel when I’m in Monte Gordo.

Very dated hotel but very clean. Not a lot of atmosphere for us, and staff although present were not friendly or inviting in any way. We were BB and the breakfast Buffett was very good. Lots of choice from cooked bacon, eggs, sausage and eggs to fantastic fruit, yoghurts, pastries and fresh bread and toast. We had lunch one day at pool bar, tuna salad for 2, very nice. The resort was very quiet, lots of bars and restaurants closed, even though our tour operators stayed open until end of October! We ate out most evenings but food repetitive, although some we would recommend. Tip we paid extra for Davies, it was worth it. Beach fantastic with a full wood walkway. Down size not much to do in MG, we visited Villa Real and took ferry to Spain, also walked to a town near by and got Uber back to MG only £4. Sorry won’t be back but enjoyed the break away.

Basic hotel, rooms nice and clean, bed made every day. Staff not particularly friendly, food basic and boring went out most days. Pretty central for what we wanted, it was a place to sleep. Beach only about 5/10 minute walk which is beautiful.

Another secret I’d like to keep to myself but my first visit to this oasis of luxury has to be complemented. The resort is beautifully presented with incredibly friendly helpful staff, It felt like I had the place to myself. The golf suites along the edge of the course are 6 star. I stayed in 822 and if you want a spectacular view this one is great. My three nights included two rounds of golf and use of the practice facility which was incredible value for money. The course is a Jack Nicklaus master piece with a wonderful selection of varied holes and a handful of spectacular par 3’s The course has suffered terribly from the drought in past years and there are one or two dry spots. However it looks like it’s on the mend and certainly didn’t affect my enjoyment. I will say there are multiple tees on each hole and my tip is to play from the one that suits your handicap. Neil is the head golf professional and did wonders for my aging game with just two hours coaching, he will advise you which tees will enhance your enjoyment. I really can’t say enough about this place and I’ll be heading back soon with my wife.

Have just returned home after a week at this hotel. I noticed it had mixed reviews. My personal opinion of this hotel is it was perfect for my needs. The hotel is very clean and spacious. My room and bathroom were spotless. Free air con, free safe. A very decent size fridge that kept contents very cool. Free wifi all over the hotel and no problems with it. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. As we’re the bar staff. A “hi” to Martin who was super sweet. A huge dining area that was very clean. Lots of choice for breakfast. Cereals, yogurts, fruit, breads, cakes, cheese, meats, preserves and honey etc. There was also cooked bacon, sausages, fried and scrambled eggs, beans, mushrooms etc. Toaster at hand for toast. The bread rolls are baked fresh in the kitchen each morning and are delicious. My one and only negative is the choice of teabags. Needed three to produce one cup of weak tasteless tea. There’s a large sunbathing area with good quality sun loungers. The pool was stunning too. I would most definitely return to this lovely and well run hotel.

We are just nearing the end of our 10 day stay here, we have had a wonderful holiday, yes its 90% german citizens here and TUI should probably make that clearer when booking but part of me is glad they didnt as it may have made me book somewhere else, i have attended fitness classes in german but the staff made every effort to explain things to me in english and i enjoyed them just as much, my husband joined the tennis tournament and he had a great time, the german people he played with all spoke good english and they were laughing and joking together, my kids made some good friends too. The silent disco was wondeful having 3 channels on the headset, german, english and house music, it was so much fun. The bands and robins singers in the evening have been great. I havent struggled to get a table in the evening, in fact we have got the same table every night and our waiters have been wonderful. The food is world class and fresh. I was dubious about coming all inclusive as we normally go on villa holidays, but we have had the best time and wish we could stay longer. This is definately a 5 star resort, if you are booking just go with the flow their isnt really a language barrrier if you just put in the effort to speak to people. En mi opinión lo mejor fue el desayuno. Nos cambiaron la habitación diciendo que era superior pero la que nosotros teníamos reservada estaba reformada y con ducha, y la que nos dieron no. Y aunque bajamos y explicamos que la reservamos así por la dificultad de no poder usar bañera pero decían que no tenían otra. Por lo tanto un gran punto negativo. Y en cuanto a las instalaciones, decir que tienen piscina exterior, interior...(esta forma parte del spa que hay que abonar y no lo dice en ningún sitio, sino cuando llegas allí. Al ponerlo dentro de las instalaciones como la exterior y no tiene coste, intentaron convencernos que en la web del hotel lo decía pero todos comprobamos que no era cierto). Deberían poner que lleva coste (como otras partes del hotel o actividades) y no captar clientes omitiendo cosas esas.

We love staying here! The staff are all friendly and welcoming. They are very helpful and speak good English. The breakfast is plentiful and tasty with fresh fruit, cereal, pastries, a selection of breads and cold meat/cheese/eggs/yoghurt. The apartments are clean and comfortable. With a large balcony they are also very spacious with plenty of room to relax. The bathroom has a bidet (perfect for rinsing swimsuits etc!) and a powerful shower over the bath. WiFi this time was good in the room but it’s always strong in reception! This is not a luxury hotel! It’s a clean and comfortable apartment that makes a perfect base whilst exploring the beautiful beaches and surrounding areas here in the Algarve. Highly recommend!
