Parque Mourabel, Oásis Village & Pé do Lago

Another wonderful Holiday at Parque Mourabel. Thank you to all the staff. Reception staff courteous, helpful and cheerful. We had a small issue with our room - a weird knocking sound and Mr Cunha on reception 😀 got maintenance on to it immediately and sorted it. Many thanks. Rooms spacious, clean and comfortable 😌 shuttle buses and drivers are excellent - location works for us. We walk into town - only 20 minutes. Shop on site caters for all our needs and staff friendly. I have booked to come back next November and am looking forward to it already. I highly recommend. Parque Mourabel is a great place to visit, but many negative reviews and comments. This is my personal view. If you want 5* accommodation go to the marina and pay their prices, if you want 5* accommodation on a 3* budget don’t go to Mourabel but if you want a great value 3* hotel, it’s perfect. The walk to the marina is nice and flat and takes approximately 25 mins, or there is a courtesy bus 3 times a day, 9am, 11am and 4pm from the hotel. Within a 5 minute walk there is a couple of bars and restaurants so plenty of choice but we have always found the restaurant in Mourabel to be super, if you book the tourist menu clearly you have chosen that and the price reflects the choices but there is also an a la carte menu with lots on offer at reasonable prices and amazing service. The bar and entertainment in Mourabel is great, all the staff, literally all the staff are fantastic, it’s like a family. There is a well stocked supermarket almost opposite the hotel and a bus stop a few minutes walk away. There is also a land train that stops right outside the hotel. The reception staff will call a taxi for you if required or there is Uber. You definitely do see the same faces on a regular basis which says it all really, it’s a great place to visit if you are realistic with your budget and choices, you can also upgrade to a superior room which I would advise. There is also a large, free car park. One last comment about the barking dogs and building noise, although unfortunate, the hotel will always try and move you from any loud, inconsiderate noise if they can but it totally depends on booking capacity, personally I have stayed close to the said apartment and have never heard the dogs or lost any sleep but clearly others have. Regarding the building works, all hotels are not allowed to do major works during the most popular months but October to March you will get some noise anywhere, maintenance, changes etc…… need to be made. Oh, and I have always found the grounds and pool very well looked after. Hope this review is helpful, it’s just realistic and honest. Well done Mourabel and all the staff 👏👏👏👏👏 great job!

Another great stay at the Mourabel 5th time at this hotel and we have just booked for Christmas week, we always book a Deluxe apartment T1 , everything you need is supplied, all staff friendly room clean ,big walk in shower and a lovely pool view, entertainment good , they must be doing something right when you meet people there you have met before year after year.

Basic hotel, tired room, towels that didn't dry me properly, lack of towels and toilet roll (sparse supplies) shower over the bath with a shower head that didn't fit the wall attachment so it kept moving, shower curtain which I hate, grounds not well kept/spare grass, muddy grass around the pool area, pool had lots of dead flies floating in the water - never seemed to be cleaned properly. Good points - lady on reception was helpful and the bar was cheap, and the staff were friendly. Buffet breakfast was okay, nice pastries and scrambled egg. 15 minute walk into town or free bus 3 times daily, flat walk into town.

Apartments are clean & the small upgrade for a renovated one in the main block was worth the small fee. They are extremely well equipped we had washing machine, full size fridge freezer, iron & board, hair dryer, extension lead (very few sockets) & loads of pans, even a casserole dish. however we both found the beds too firm & uncomfortable. Drinks are cheap at 3€ a pint & 2.60 for soft drinks. Snack bar food was nice. The only real thing we missed was having no terrace to sit out on. You either lie on sunbed or sit indoors. There's nothing around the area, no nice walks etc. Couple restaurants & a bar down the road that's it. Taxis everywhere, but I suppose the location is reflected in the price. Shuttle bus 3 times a day is great.

Apartment really nice and very clean. Hotel is a little out the way with a 30 minute walk to the Marina. Don’t go half board, it’s a set menu and the food is awful. 3 choices of a starter which includes fruit juice, 3 options for main, meat, fish or pasta and either the desert of the day or a coffee ( not both) Food was often cold and guests were opting to eat elsewhere.
