Adakah Rakyat Malaysia Memerlukan Visa untuk Melawat Australia?
Ya, bagi warganegara Malaysia perlu visa untuk melawat Australia. Untuk lawatan singkat (pelancongan/perniagaan ≤3 bulan setiap masuk), pilihan biasa ialah:
- Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) – Subclass 601
- Mohon melalui aplikasi “Australian ETA” sahaja.
- Caj perkhidmatan sekitar AUD $20. ( Caj perkhidmatan tidak boleh dikembalikan)

🗂️ Jenis Visa untuk Rakyat Malaysia Melancong ke Australia
Berikut jenis visa/permit paling relevan untuk rakyat Malaysia yang mahu melancong (atau lawatan ringkas) ke Australia:
Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) – Subkelas 601
- Untuk lawatan pelancongan atau perniagaan jangka pendek.
- Mohon hanya melalui aplikasi mudah alih “Australian ETA” (Android/iOS).
- Sah sehingga 12 bulan, membenarkan kemasukan berulang, maksimum 3 bulan setiap masuk.
- Terdapat caj perkhidmatan ~AUD 20 bagi permohonan melalui aplikasi.
Peraturan Penting
- Tidak dibenarkan bekerja atau menerima bayaran di Australia

Its location is absolutely superb, right in the heart of the CBD, within walking distance to Chinatown and Darling Harbour, and very convenient for getting to the Sydney Opera House and The Rocks. The apartment-style rooms are spacious and come with a full kitchen and washing machine, making them perfect for longer stays. The rooms are clean and bright, and high-floor rooms offer expansive city views. The front desk staff are polite and professional, though none speak Chinese. I booked the cheapest twin room on the 26th floor, offering a direct view of the Bell Tower from above. The room was incredibly spacious, probably over 50 square meters, and even had a bathtub. While the furniture was quite basic, the front desk service was absolutely excellent. I also visited the gym. The building itself is a former Sydney Post Office, so many people come to take photos. Upon entering the hotel, as soon as they saw my Chinese passport, a Chinese-speaking front desk staff member came over to help me check in. They only required a $1 deposit, compared to the Intercontinental which charged $300. The room layout and flow are very well-designed, and the facilities are quite new. The room clearly shows its age, but the unparalleled balcony view makes up for it, and it's spotlessly clean. The breakfast selection isn't huge, but there are plenty of fruit and bread options, fresh juice, and a good variety of coffee. The staff are very friendly and engaging!
**Highlights 🤩**: There's a water and ice dispenser on every floor, available 24/7. We didn't need to buy any water during our stay, and you can choose between water, half ice, or full ice 🧊.
**Pros**: Excellent location, incredible ocean views, and the service quality of a seasoned five-star hotel is definitely still present.

The hotel is in a great location. Central to circular quay and darling harbour. Very close to wynards train station. Although on a steep road it’s not too far to walk from York street. Everything about the hotel was spotless from having the doors open everytime you entered or left the hotel. The only disappointment for us was the breakfast. The hotel boasts an excellent location, right in the bustling heart of the city. Many attractions are within walking distance, including Hyde Park, and you can easily reach the Sydney Opera House on foot or by public transport. Check-in was handled in a very friendly and professional manner, and it was super fast. Compared to other hotels and apartments during our Australia trip, this one offered exceptional value for money. The bed was also very large, making it quite family-friendly. After checking out, we realized our child's plush toy was left behind. When we returned, the staff were incredibly friendly and patient, helping us find it and even packing it up for us. The hotel's amenities are really subpar; it's nothing like a 4-star hotel. Sofitel properties in China are much better configured. I stayed at their hotels in Sydney and Gold Coast this trip, and I definitely won't be staying with this brand again. The bathroom sink was like something out of a hostel – small, single basin, and so low and shallow that when you wash your face or hands, water splashes all over your waist and stomach. We arrived quite late on the first day, and the air conditioning wasn't central, it was very noisy, and the fridge also made a lot of noise. Plus, we were at the end of a hallway. I contacted Ctrip customer service; we couldn't switch rooms on the second day, but they moved us on the third. However, in the new room, the toilet seat didn't have a soft-close mechanism, so it would either slam shut or just fall down. The towels were placed on a tiny shelf – I don't know if that's a deliberate design choice by the hotel? Anyway, it's hard to put into words… all the rooms are at the end of hallways. I absolutely will not stay at any Sofitel brand hotels again… This is my second time in Australia this year, and it's winter, the off-season. Hotel prices were higher than what I booked in February, and my experiences in Gold Coast and Sydney were disappointing… Cairns was even worse, essentially a hostel-level hotel by Chinese standards, with twin beds less than 1 meter wide each… When booking a hotel, it really has to be an international brand, but Sofitel is a chain, and the one in Sydney was truly bad…DariTHB 5,664

My stay at The Pod Sydney was generally positive, especially considering I was traveling solo and staying in a mixed dorm.
The Location deserves a perfect 5/5. It is truly exceptional—right in the heart of the city and just steps away from public transport, making it incredibly easy to get to all the main attractions.
Cleanliness was also very good (4/5). The common areas and bathrooms were well-maintained and tidy.
However, I rated both Service and Facilities as Okay (3/5). While the staff was courteous, the check-in process felt a bit slow, and I didn't feel the communal facilities truly stood out. For instance, the common room felt small for the number of guests.

Booked a deluxe one-bedroom twin apartment. The room design was nice, but the twin beds were quite narrow. The fridge was empty, not even basic coffee or milk was provided. I had requested a river view and a higher floor to celebrate my daughter's birthday, but not only did the hotel fail to provide it, they didn't even politely explain why. There were also no birthday amenities or greetings. The next day, I called customer service hoping for some milk and also mentioned the birthday issue. She only said ”sorry, the room couldn't meet the request” and that for birthdays, they only offer a ”sprinkle” (I assume she meant something like a complimentary drink or small gesture, but the original text is a bit unclear here, and it seems like it wasn't provided). In the end, she didn't follow up on it either. This left us with an impression of unfriendliness; the customer service attitude was rather cold and unwelcoming. Compared to other five-star hotels, the service quality here was quite disappointing. Additionally, the hotel has very few facilities apart from the gym. The hotel's location is also a bit inconvenient and it's not easy to hail a taxi. On the positive side, a gentleman working at the lounge downstairs had excellent service, was very polite and friendly, and took great care of guests. Since this is an express hotel, they don't provide disposable slippers, which was a bit inconvenient. We booked a King Standard hotel for this trip as we have the special rate from Trip.com. Before we arrived we received an email from Trip urging us to write an email to ask for early check in as we also booked an airline ticket thru Trip. When arrived in hotel ard 9.45 am we were offered a room ( with immediate availability ) but with a payment of AUD 50. When I asked for a twin bed room as usually King and Twin Bed will have same rate, but not this hotel. If we were to change the bed style we have to pay AUD 30/night for 5 nights 😅😅another AUD 150. Enough for all the morning communications so we just ignore the bed details and went straight to our room after the payment. On the day we checked out we came to know that the front officer recharged our hotel fee even when Trip.com confirmed that everything was fully paid.
What a money maker hotel!! Front officer told us they will refund us the amount though.
However the room is small and nice and everything was up to international 4 standard but Crown Casino Tower has a much more beautiful and bigger room. Though both have stunning nice view of the Yarra River as in attached.DariTHB 5,255

I recently stayed in a 1-bedroom apartment and was generally satisfied with my experience. Upon entering the room, I noticed the bedroom fan was already running, which seemed unusual given it was winter. After checking the air conditioning, I discovered the control panel wasn't working.
I contacted reception, and a technician was promptly sent to inspect the issue. The technician confirmed that the air conditioning was not operational. Customer service handled the situation well by personally escorting me to a different apartment, which turned out to be a spacious 2-bedroom unit. This was a thoughtful gesture and was greatly appreciated as an apology for the inconvenience.
Overall, I enjoyed my stay and was pleased with how the staff resolved the issue. However, the situation could have been avoided if the room had been properly checked before being assigned to a guest. Ensuring that essential appliances are functioning prior to check-in would help prevent similar inconveniences in the future.

I'm writing this review in English so the staffs can understand what I wanna say. First of all I wanna thank the male staff on duty everyday over the entire stay of mine and the two girls on their shifts when I checked in. You guys are fantastic, very helpful, friendly and highly efficient. My apologies for not remembering your name, but I do wanna give you my heartfelt thanks. However, there was this female staff, seems to be latino or something, on duty when I came back to the property to get my luggages in the afternoon of Feb.22 aat 3:45pm. (I'm sure you can find out who was it because there were only two staffs at the front desk at that time). She was INSANELY LAZY AND RUDE. I asked for my luggages and she took my tags but said to me, rolling her eyes, ”I think the door to the luggage room is open.” She was very hospitable when dealing with the other guests, who were white, before me. I insisted she needs to go get the bags for me, and she said I'll have to wait. I waited, but apparently she didn't have anything legit to do. First of all, the hotel does not have a reception desk. You need to contact the service staff to check in later or soon. If you don't speak English well, do your homework in advance or choose another room.
Geographical environment: 8-10 minutes walk to crown business district (take a 6-year-old child). The Crown business district is full of food, shopping and casinos. There are many supermarkets in the downstairs for a minute or two. You can buy food and cook, and provide daily living supplies. Very convenient.
Room facilities: The hotel is a bit like a homestay. In a comprehensive apartment. You need to swipe the magnetic card to get in and out, which is relatively safe. The overall space is large, but both bedrooms are 1.5 meters small beds. The kitchen has pans, cutlery, a refrigerator, a microwave, and a dishwasher. But there is no seasoning. Cooking a light meal should be OK. Due to the folklore nature, there is no daily cleaning service. There is a swimming pool in the building.
Parking charges, $ 25 a day. Just come in and out. Friends who drive are highly recommended. City parking is too expensive. It's a good deal to take a taxi.
Disadvantages:
1. Give Ctrip. When booking, it was not marked clearly, I thought there was a hotel with a front desk. Stupidly arrived and found out that it was a homestay type. The current homeowner couldn't get through to the phone, and there was no place to stop and jump straight. Later, the host came and said that Ctrip only told us to check in at 5 o'clock, and did not give the host the contact information, so he was not prepared. Check-in at five is my time for Ctrip, but we flew from Brisbane, that is only approximate time. If Ctrip protects my personal privacy, I will not give the owner contact information, but at least I have to contact me Tell me how to check in, let me contact the owner in advance! !!
2. The overall health of the room is ok, but the smell is really bad. It feels like a guest cooking too much. Hope you can do a good job of ventilation.Breakfast

Permohonan laman web rasmi: https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/, Anda boleh log masuk ke sistem ETA di laman web rasmi Jabatan Imigresen Australia untuk memohon.
A) Mohon ETA (Electronic Travel Authority) – Subkelas 601
- Semak kelayakan & sediakan pasport (masih sah).
- Muat turun aplikasi mudah alih “Australian ETA” (iOS/Android). Semua pemohon ETA wajib guna app ini.
- Sediakan telefon dengan kamera + NFC & lokasi diaktifkan, serta e-mel aktif (disyorkan oleh Suruhanjaya Tinggi Australia di KL).
- Isi butiran dalam app, imbas pasport & swafoto mengikut arahan.
- Bayar caj perkhidmatan ~AUD 20 dalam aplikasi (tiada “visa application charge” berasingan untuk ETA).
- Terima keputusan secara digital – ETA dipautkan kepada pasport anda; tiada pelekat visa.
ETA lazimnya sah hingga 12 bulan, kemasukan berganda, maksimum 3 bulan setiap lawatan.
B) Mohon Visitor Visa – Subkelas 600 (jika tidak layak ETA / perlukan tinggal lebih lama)
- Pilih aliran yang sesuai (contoh: Tourist stream (outside Australia) atau Business Visitor).
- Cipta/Log masuk ImmiAccount dan mulakan permohonan atas talian.
- Sediakan dokumen sokongan (pasport, foto, bukti dana, itinerari, surat majikan/cuti, undangan jika ada, dsb.) mengikut arahan di laman Home Affairs.
- Bayar yuran yang berkaitan dalam ImmiAccount.
- Biometrik (jika diminta): anda akan terima surat arahan biometrik; tempah janji temu di VFS Global Kuala Lumpur dan hadir untuk cap jari & foto.
- Pantau mesej dalam ImmiAccount untuk sebarang permintaan maklumat tambahan & keputusan. Visa (jika diluluskan) dipautkan secara elektronik kepada pasport anda.
Tips penting
- Jangan beli tiket/tempah hotel tidak boleh dikembalikan wang sebelum visa diluluskan. (Amalan selamat semasa memohon.)
- Transit sahaja? Semak Transit visa (771) atau TWOV (transit tanpa visa) jika layak.
