Our stay at Meriton Suites Kent Street was fantastic! The location is right in the heart of the city — walking distance to Darling Harbour, Town Hall Station, and plenty of shops and restaurants.
The suite was spacious, modern, and spotless, with a fully equipped kitchen and laundry facilities that made our trip so much more convenient. The bed was very comfortable, and we loved having a separate living area to relax in after a long day exploring Sydney.
The staff were friendly and helpful, always checking in to make sure we had everything we needed. Having an indoor pool, spa, and gym on-site was a great bonus too.

The location is fantastic, located by the Darling Harbour, you can reach the Aquarium and Darling Harbour within 3-5 minutes. You can also access Sydney CBD (QVB etc.) easily.
For the staff, they are super friendly and helpful.
Despite I didn't request a daily room cleaning service, they tidied my room every day. If you don't want to have such service, you can definitely require not to too.
The view of my room is amazing, you can enjoy the view of Darling Harbour. And one more thing which I found quite important is that the room has a perfect soundproof. Since it's winter in August, it's quite cold in Sydney. The lobby has very warm temperature and cozy vibe. However, the room's air conditioning didn't provide a warm temperature that I satisfied, the room temperature remains between 18-20 °C during our stay, it would be perfect if it's like 23-25 °C. The hotel boasts a prime downtown location, directly opposite Hyde Park, with St. Mary's Cathedral just a short walk through the park. Sydney Tower, offering panoramic views from its revolving restaurant, is also conveniently across a side street. This makes it an ideal spot for city walks, as most major attractions and Chinatown are within easy walking distance. Public buses offer direct access to the University of Sydney, and a subway station is right across the road. Plus, there are abundant dining options nearby.
The front desk service was rather subpar. In the morning, I was confirmed and signed for a room on the 18th floor, only to be moved to the 14th floor when I officially checked in that afternoon. When I inquired why I was assigned a lower floor, I was told it was an 'upgrade' because my Ctrip booking was supposedly for a room below the 7th floor – a detail I couldn't find anywhere in my booking confirmation. The most annoying part was that I had specifically requested a room away from the elevators when booking, yet I was given one right next to them. As we had booked two adjoining rooms, a change wasn't feasible. Fortunately, the room was surprisingly quiet despite its proximity to the elevator. To make matters worse, essential items were missing from the room daily, requiring me to call for them, which then took 10-15 minutes to be delivered. On a rainy day, when I finally went out around 4 PM, I did notice a young cleaning staff member who was remarkably efficient, polite, and quick at her tasks.
The hotel breakfast was quite good (though certainly not on par with top-tier 5-star hotels in China). The prawn noodles were a particular favorite, but disappointingly, they were unavailable on our last day. For the first three days, the waitstaff didn't offer us coffee or tea after seating us. On the fourth day, we were finally asked, but the coffee we ordered never arrived, even by the time we finished our meal. Over the subsequent days, I observed that most other guests seemed to have coffee, but I didn't inquire about the discrepancy and won't speculate. On a positive note, the restaurant staff were generally polite.
Regarding other facilities, they were quite standard, meeting typical 5-star hotel expectations but falling short of a luxury 5-star experience.DariAED 664

Our living experience in the Hotel was great. The upgrading service in pent house provided a great view of the surrounding areas with a part of Darling Harbour. The best hostel for solo travellers. I was a bit hesitant at first given that the only available room was the mixed dorm. However, the room is clean, quiet, enough space for luggages. I'll start with the service, as I felt deeply disappointed and unfairly treated during check-in. It was our birthday on August 20th when we arrived. After mentioning this to the receptionist, not only did we not receive even a simple 'Happy Birthday,' but we were also told to buy our own cake from a shop as the hotel offered no special services or gestures. This level of service is utterly inconsistent with what one would expect from a Crown Hotel and left us extremely disappointed! We provided feedback to the front desk during check-out, and while they offered an apology and champagne, it was too little, too late. A birthday only comes once a year, and we were truly let down.
**Facilities:** The hotel feels very new overall. The shower had a handheld showerhead, which is very family-friendly, especially for those with young children (many hotels in Australia don't have these...). The bedding was very comfortable. Disposable toiletries, drinking water, and slippers were provided – a nice touch, as we usually bring our own since many Australian hotels don't offer them.
**Cleanliness:** The room was spotless. The bathtub was clean enough for kids to bathe in, which gave us peace of mind.

This is my 4th times staying at this hotel. This time I got room 2207 for 4 nights and continue with 1206 for 10 nights. 2207 has a very nice view. I got the sunrise view on my first morning. I love staying in this hotel because it’s very near to my son’s apartment, walking distance to Crown Casino area, and near to the tram stop. Very convenient. The front desk staff also very friendly and helpful. The only inconsistent thing is the cleaning service. The front desk staff at check-in and the luggage storage staff were both very friendly. I booked a king room while my friend booked a twin room on the same floor. However, the condition of the rooms was very different—our king room looked much older and more worn out. The biggest issue was the shower: the showerhead sprayed water in a very dispersed way, which made the water pressure extremely weak. Was a lovely stay which felt like home! Everything was clean and efficient. Arrived early by noon and was granted check in with a warm welcome of chocolates and a personal note! First of all, the hotel does not have a reception desk. You need to contact the service staff to check in later or soon. If you don't speak English well, do your homework in advance or choose another room.
Geographical environment: 8-10 minutes walk to crown business district (take a 6-year-old child). The Crown business district is full of food, shopping and casinos. There are many supermarkets in the downstairs for a minute or two. You can buy food and cook, and provide daily living supplies. Very convenient.
Room facilities: The hotel is a bit like a homestay. In a comprehensive apartment. You need to swipe the magnetic card to get in and out, which is relatively safe. The overall space is large, but both bedrooms are 1.5 meters small beds. The kitchen has pans, cutlery, a refrigerator, a microwave, and a dishwasher. But there is no seasoning. Cooking a light meal should be OK. Due to the folklore nature, there is no daily cleaning service. There is a swimming pool in the building.
Parking charges, $ 25 a day. Just come in and out. Friends who drive are highly recommended. City parking is too expensive. It's a good deal to take a taxi.
Disadvantages:
1. Give Ctrip. When booking, it was not marked clearly, I thought there was a hotel with a front desk. Stupidly arrived and found out that it was a homestay type. The current homeowner couldn't get through to the phone, and there was no place to stop and jump straight. Later, the host came and said that Ctrip only told us to check in at 5 o'clock, and did not give the host the contact information, so he was not prepared. Check-in at five is my time for Ctrip, but we flew from Brisbane, that is only approximate time. If Ctrip protects my personal privacy, I will not give the owner contact information, but at least I have to contact me Tell me how to check in, let me contact the owner in advance! !!
2. The overall health of the room is ok, but the smell is really bad. It feels like a guest cooking too much. Hope you can do a good job of ventilation.DariAED 1,574

A) Mohon ETA (Electronic Travel Authority) – Subkelas 601
- Semak kelayakan & sediakan pasport (masih sah).
