Adakah Rakyat Malaysia Memerlukan Visa untuk Melawat Australia?
Ya, bagi warganegara Malaysia perlu visa untuk melawat Australia. Untuk lawatan singkat (pelancongan/perniagaan ≤3 bulan setiap masuk), pilihan biasa ialah:
- Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) – Subclass 601
- Mohon melalui aplikasi “Australian ETA” sahaja.
- Caj perkhidmatan sekitar AUD $20. ( Caj perkhidmatan tidak boleh dikembalikan)

🗂️ Jenis Visa untuk Rakyat Malaysia Melancong ke Australia
Berikut jenis visa/permit paling relevan untuk rakyat Malaysia yang mahu melancong (atau lawatan ringkas) ke Australia:
Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) – Subkelas 601
- Untuk lawatan pelancongan atau perniagaan jangka pendek.
- Mohon hanya melalui aplikasi mudah alih “Australian ETA” (Android/iOS).
- Sah sehingga 12 bulan, membenarkan kemasukan berulang, maksimum 3 bulan setiap masuk.
- Terdapat caj perkhidmatan ~AUD 20 bagi permohonan melalui aplikasi.
Peraturan Penting
- Tidak dibenarkan bekerja atau menerima bayaran di Australia
- Pemohon mesti memenuhi syarat kesihatan dan rekod jenayah (character requirements)

Dislike: be aware of what street the room facing. It’s loud at night, ppl talk and laugh can hear very clearly.
Services: overall are good, I’ve been staying meriton many times in many locations, but this one Meriton on Kent was disappointing. I’ve asked baby amenities before my trip start but never got any as they promised they’ve been noted and prepared.
Special note: at the checked in they gave us a small room facing loud street and construction site( we booked a higher price of room and staying 5 nights)。
They had originally agreed to change our room. However, due to a communication gap among the staff the next day, it took quite a long time to resolve the misunderstanding before the room change was finally completed.

I booked the cheapest twin room on the 26th floor, offering a direct view of the Bell Tower from above. The room was incredibly spacious, probably over 50 square meters, and even had a bathtub. While the furniture was quite basic, the front desk service was absolutely excellent. I also visited the gym. The building itself is a former Sydney Post Office, so many people come to take photos. I had a wonderful stay at Sofitel Sydney Darling Harbour. From the moment I arrived, everything was well taken care of. The room was clean, comfortable and beautifully appointed, with a great view of Darling Harbour.
The location is excellent, with plenty of restaurants, attractions and transport options within easy reach. The hotel itself has a very welcoming atmosphere, and the staff were friendly, professional and attentive throughout my stay.

I arrived at the hotel at 10 AM for an early flight, and to my surprise, they already let me check in! This is the first time in dozens of international trips that I've been able to check in so early, which left a fantastic first impression. I booked for four nights. There was a construction site right opposite my room. For the first two nights, which were the weekend, they only worked during the day, so my sleep wasn't disturbed. However, on the third day, a weekday, to my utter disbelief, this thundering Sydney decided not to do construction during the day in the CBD, but instead worked all night long!!... I couldn't sleep a wink and called the front desk to ask for a room change. So, for the last night, they even upgraded my room type. Overall, the hotel's location is excellent, within a 15-minute walk to most popular spots, and not far from Circular Quay. The building's architecture strongly resembles the Wukang Building in Shanghai, which gives it a familiar and comforting feel. All the staff were incredibly friendly and kind. I had an excellent stay at Hyatt. It’s definitely one of the best choices if you’re looking for comfort and convenience. The rooms were clean, spacious, and well-maintained, and the staff were professional and very welcoming.
The location is a big advantage—everything you need is nearby, including restaurants, shops, and transport options, which makes getting around very easy. The overall experience was smooth and relaxing, from check-in to check-out.

The hotel is in a great location. Central to circular quay and darling harbour. Very close to wynards train station. Although on a steep road it’s not too far to walk from York street. Everything about the hotel was spotless from having the doors open everytime you entered or left the hotel. The only disappointment for us was the breakfast. The hotel boasts an excellent location, right in the bustling heart of the city. Many attractions are within walking distance, including Hyde Park, and you can easily reach the Sydney Opera House on foot or by public transport. Check-in was handled in a very friendly and professional manner, and it was super fast. Compared to other hotels and apartments during our Australia trip, this one offered exceptional value for money. The bed was also very large, making it quite family-friendly. After checking out, we realized our child's plush toy was left behind. When we returned, the staff were incredibly friendly and patient, helping us find it and even packing it up for us. Hotel location is perfect. Walking distance (5min) to main shopping street (Pitt Street Mall) and QVB mall is just opposite.
Hotel provides only basic amenities like towels and hand soups etc. this is a good base to do sightseeing around Sydney. I booked a triple family room with queen bed and single bed. I like the room design - the single bed has a wall and door to separate from the queen bed and there is privacy for family with kids.

The hotel's amenities are really subpar; it's nothing like a 4-star hotel. Sofitel properties in China are much better configured. I stayed at their hotels in Sydney and Gold Coast this trip, and I definitely won't be staying with this brand again. The bathroom sink was like something out of a hostel – small, single basin, and so low and shallow that when you wash your face or hands, water splashes all over your waist and stomach. We arrived quite late on the first day, and the air conditioning wasn't central, it was very noisy, and the fridge also made a lot of noise. Plus, we were at the end of a hallway. I contacted Ctrip customer service; we couldn't switch rooms on the second day, but they moved us on the third. However, in the new room, the toilet seat didn't have a soft-close mechanism, so it would either slam shut or just fall down. The towels were placed on a tiny shelf – I don't know if that's a deliberate design choice by the hotel? Anyway, it's hard to put into words… all the rooms are at the end of hallways. I absolutely will not stay at any Sofitel brand hotels again… This is my second time in Australia this year, and it's winter, the off-season. Hotel prices were higher than what I booked in February, and my experiences in Gold Coast and Sydney were disappointing… Cairns was even worse, essentially a hostel-level hotel by Chinese standards, with twin beds less than 1 meter wide each… When booking a hotel, it really has to be an international brand, but Sofitel is a chain, and the one in Sydney was truly bad…Dari€ 175

If you have any standards, I honestly wouldn't recommend staying here. It's clearly an old building converted into a hotel, and the renovation is basic. The window glass isn't very soundproof; you can still hear traffic outside even when the windows are closed. Cleanliness is lacking; there were several hairs on the bathroom floor. However, the staff were polite and immediately arranged a room change once they understood the situation. The hotel's location is genuinely excellent. Booked a twin room with breakfast (including breakfast for two children) through Trip.com. The front desk initially claimed there was no breakfast, then gave us a room on the lowest floor. When checking out, it was pouring rain, and we had a ton of luggage, plus elderly and children. The concierge not only didn't help with an umbrella, but was also hesitant about lending one for us to get to the car.
I called the hotel's customer service through Trip.com, and the breakfast issue was resolved. As for the other 'software' aspects, it's really an issue of quality for an old five-star hotel. Chinese guests booking through Trip.com likely face discrimination and difficulties at this hotel.
The location is on the row closest to the Opera House, facing the Harbour Bridge in the front and the Botanic Garden in the back. The surroundings are right in the heart of the tourist hustle, but I personally prefer the garden view side. Breakfast is purely Continental, a la carte.Dari€ 254

The hostel is a lot smaller than expected, I was shook upon arrival. Fortunately the rooms are large enough with ample sized pods. Shower stalls are designed well with a sectioned space for putting clothing/phone and there is toilet seat sanitizer in the bathroom. It’s not the most quiet hostel but the bathrooms and rooms are cleaned daily which was nice. One thing to note, when coming from the airport, I suggest to use a bus service instead of taking the train if you have luggage, because the nearest train station (Museum station) is old and has two long staircases. Because of this I took a DART bus to the airport on the day I left, they offer hotel pickups but it needs to be reserve online 24 hours ahead of time- otherwise the closest pickup spot is right in front of the Vibe Hotel on Goulburn street, which is a very short walk from the Pod Sydney.Dari€ 40

Booked a deluxe one-bedroom twin apartment. The room design was nice, but the twin beds were quite narrow. The fridge was empty, not even basic coffee or milk was provided. I had requested a river view and a higher floor to celebrate my daughter's birthday, but not only did the hotel fail to provide it, they didn't even politely explain why. There were also no birthday amenities or greetings. The next day, I called customer service hoping for some milk and also mentioned the birthday issue. She only said ”sorry, the room couldn't meet the request” and that for birthdays, they only offer a ”sprinkle” (I assume she meant something like a complimentary drink or small gesture, but the original text is a bit unclear here, and it seems like it wasn't provided). In the end, she didn't follow up on it either. This left us with an impression of unfriendliness; the customer service attitude was rather cold and unwelcoming. Compared to other five-star hotels, the service quality here was quite disappointing. Additionally, the hotel has very few facilities apart from the gym. The hotel's location is also a bit inconvenient and it's not easy to hail a taxi. The room was incredibly spacious, the bed super comfortable, and the linens were top-notch. The front desk staff were very nice, and the WiFi was fast. The view was amazing! Right outside the north exit, you can stroll along the Yarra River to the sounds of beautiful music – it was incredibly chill. If you exit the south door and cross the street, you'll find a 7-Eleven, McDonald's, a great brunch spot, and a steak restaurant. Inside the hotel, there's KFC, Japanese, Thai, Italian, and Chinese restaurants, plus a food hall with lots of delicious and affordable Chinese options that stay open late. We even had some warm Singapore Laksa after coming back from the Great Ocean Road. Taxis are also convenient; the taxi stand is right in front of the waterfall lobby. Many day tour pick-ups are here too, so coming back late isn't a safety concern as you step right into the hotel. Public transport is also good, with tram lines 85 and 96 very close by, and Flinders Street and the Cathedral within walking distance. I feel like I made the right choice! As part of the green initiative they want us to ask for a dental kit and then collect it from reception. Why not leave it in the room and let guests decide if they want to use it. Breakfast is continental and lacks variety. I assume that's what most customers want. The staff is friendly and helpful. No drinking water in the room. My stay at Imagine Marco Apartments in Melbourne this time was even better than I expected!
First off, the location is incredibly convenient. It's just a short walk to Southern Cross Station and tram stops, making it super quick and easy to get to the CBD. The apartment facilities are new and complete, and the room itself was clean, tidy, and comfortable. I could even enjoy a beautiful city view from the window.
What touched me the most was how enthusiastic all the staff were! From check-in, they were all smiling and very proactive in helping and offering tips on things to do around the area. The location was excellent, with the casino only about a 10-minute walk away.
There were a couple of minor drawbacks. The lighting in the room was a little dim, and the dryer didn’t seem to work properly, as our clothes were still damp after running it overnight. The parking fee of $45 per day also felt a bit expensive.

We booked a King Standard hotel for this trip as we have the special rate from Trip.com. Before we arrived we received an email from Trip urging us to write an email to ask for early check in as we also booked an airline ticket thru Trip. When arrived in hotel ard 9.45 am we were offered a room ( with immediate availability ) but with a payment of AUD 50. When I asked for a twin bed room as usually King and Twin Bed will have same rate, but not this hotel. If we were to change the bed style we have to pay AUD 30/night for 5 nights 😅😅another AUD 150. Enough for all the morning communications so we just ignore the bed details and went straight to our room after the payment. On the day we checked out we came to know that the front officer recharged our hotel fee even when Trip.com confirmed that everything was fully paid.
What a money maker hotel!! Front officer told us they will refund us the amount though.
However the room is small and nice and everything was up to international 4 standard but Crown Casino Tower has a much more beautiful and bigger room. Though both have stunning nice view of the Yarra River as in attached.Dari€ 141

The downside of staying at your hotel was that the rooms were too hot and even after turning the temperature down to 16 and turning the fan almost completely off there were no sheets on the bed so one either has nothing for a cover or the far too thick doona‘s. Therefore my daughter Mrs Auty and myself lost two nights sleep. I recently stayed in a 1-bedroom apartment and was generally satisfied with my experience. Upon entering the room, I noticed the bedroom fan was already running, which seemed unusual given it was winter. After checking the air conditioning, I discovered the control panel wasn't working.
I contacted reception, and a technician was promptly sent to inspect the issue. The technician confirmed that the air conditioning was not operational. Customer service handled the situation well by personally escorting me to a different apartment, which turned out to be a spacious 2-bedroom unit. This was a thoughtful gesture and was greatly appreciated as an apology for the inconvenience.
Overall, I enjoyed my stay and was pleased with how the staff resolved the issue. However, the situation could have been avoided if the room had been properly checked before being assigned to a guest. Ensuring that essential appliances are functioning prior to check-in would help prevent similar inconveniences in the future.

It seems the room has not been cleaned thoroughly. There is still dust in several areas, and the kitchen , oven and refrigerator do not appear very clean, as if they were not wiped properly. It also feels like the cleaning was done a little hastily, as I had to request garbage bags, dish soap, and cloths from reception. Service was fabulous. Leslie was absolutely wonderful to deal with, a joy. The apartment was a great layout with everything you need for a short stay. First of all, the hotel does not have a reception desk. You need to contact the service staff to check in later or soon. If you don't speak English well, do your homework in advance or choose another room.
Geographical environment: 8-10 minutes walk to crown business district (take a 6-year-old child). The Crown business district is full of food, shopping and casinos. There are many supermarkets in the downstairs for a minute or two. You can buy food and cook, and provide daily living supplies. Very convenient.
Room facilities: The hotel is a bit like a homestay. In a comprehensive apartment. You need to swipe the magnetic card to get in and out, which is relatively safe. The overall space is large, but both bedrooms are 1.5 meters small beds. The kitchen has pans, cutlery, a refrigerator, a microwave, and a dishwasher. But there is no seasoning. Cooking a light meal should be OK. Due to the folklore nature, there is no daily cleaning service. There is a swimming pool in the building.
Parking charges, $ 25 a day. Just come in and out. Friends who drive are highly recommended. City parking is too expensive. It's a good deal to take a taxi.
Disadvantages:
1. Give Ctrip. When booking, it was not marked clearly, I thought there was a hotel with a front desk. Stupidly arrived and found out that it was a homestay type. The current homeowner couldn't get through to the phone, and there was no place to stop and jump straight. Later, the host came and said that Ctrip only told us to check in at 5 o'clock, and did not give the host the contact information, so he was not prepared. Check-in at five is my time for Ctrip, but we flew from Brisbane, that is only approximate time. If Ctrip protects my personal privacy, I will not give the owner contact information, but at least I have to contact me Tell me how to check in, let me contact the owner in advance! !!
2. The overall health of the room is ok, but the smell is really bad. It feels like a guest cooking too much. Hope you can do a good job of ventilation.Breakfast

Permohonan laman web rasmi: https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/, Anda boleh log masuk ke sistem ETA di laman web rasmi Jabatan Imigresen Australia untuk memohon.
A) Mohon ETA (Electronic Travel Authority) – Subkelas 601
- Semak kelayakan & sediakan pasport (masih sah).
- Muat turun aplikasi mudah alih “Australian ETA” (iOS/Android). Semua pemohon ETA wajib guna app ini.
- Sediakan telefon dengan kamera + NFC & lokasi diaktifkan, serta e-mel aktif (disyorkan oleh Suruhanjaya Tinggi Australia di KL).
- Isi butiran dalam app, imbas pasport & swafoto mengikut arahan.
- Bayar caj perkhidmatan ~AUD 20 dalam aplikasi (tiada “visa application charge” berasingan untuk ETA).
- Terima keputusan secara digital – ETA dipautkan kepada pasport anda; tiada pelekat visa.
ETA lazimnya sah hingga 12 bulan, kemasukan berganda, maksimum 3 bulan setiap lawatan.
B) Mohon Visitor Visa – Subkelas 600 (jika tidak layak ETA / perlukan tinggal lebih lama)
- Pilih aliran yang sesuai (contoh: Tourist stream (outside Australia) atau Business Visitor).
- Cipta/Log masuk ImmiAccount dan mulakan permohonan atas talian.
- Sediakan dokumen sokongan (pasport, foto, bukti dana, itinerari, surat majikan/cuti, undangan jika ada, dsb.) mengikut arahan di laman Home Affairs.
- Bayar yuran yang berkaitan dalam ImmiAccount.
- Biometrik (jika diminta): anda akan terima surat arahan biometrik; tempah janji temu di VFS Global Kuala Lumpur dan hadir untuk cap jari & foto.
- Pantau mesej dalam ImmiAccount untuk sebarang permintaan maklumat tambahan & keputusan. Visa (jika diluluskan) dipautkan secara elektronik kepada pasport anda.
Tips penting
- Jangan beli tiket/tempah hotel tidak boleh dikembalikan wang sebelum visa diluluskan. (Amalan selamat semasa memohon.)
