Adakah Rakyat Malaysia Memerlukan Visa untuk Melawat Australia?
Ya, bagi warganegara Malaysia perlu visa untuk melawat Australia. Untuk lawatan singkat (pelancongan/perniagaan ≤3 bulan setiap masuk), pilihan biasa ialah:
- Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) – Subclass 601
- Mohon melalui aplikasi “Australian ETA” sahaja.

🗂️ Jenis Visa untuk Rakyat Malaysia Melancong ke Australia
Berikut jenis visa/permit paling relevan untuk rakyat Malaysia yang mahu melancong (atau lawatan ringkas) ke Australia:
Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) – Subkelas 601
- Untuk lawatan pelancongan atau perniagaan jangka pendek.
- Mohon hanya melalui aplikasi mudah alih “Australian ETA” (Android/iOS).

I booked the cheapest twin room on the 26th floor, offering a direct view of the Bell Tower from above. The room was incredibly spacious, probably over 50 square meters, and even had a bathtub. While the furniture was quite basic, the front desk service was absolutely excellent. I also visited the gym. The building itself is a former Sydney Post Office, so many people come to take photos. Even after leaving a note asking for fresh towels, they only provided one clean towel for a double room. There was no weighing scale in the room, and the body lotion in the bathroom was empty – I had to write a note to get it replaced. Overall, my impression is just average. This was the best hotel of our entire trip to Australia! The room was really spacious with high ceilings, making for a very comfortable stay. The water pressure in the bathroom and shower was excellent, so showering and washing up were a breeze. The hotel's location is superb; just behind it is George Street, which is Sydney's CBD, making it super convenient for shopping, getting groceries, and catching a train. The breakfast selection isn't huge, but there are plenty of fruit and bread options, fresh juice, and a good variety of coffee. The staff are very friendly and engaging!
**Highlights 🤩**: There's a water and ice dispenser on every floor, available 24/7. We didn't need to buy any water during our stay, and you can choose between water, half ice, or full ice 🧊.
**Pros**: Excellent location, incredible ocean views, and the service quality of a seasoned five-star hotel is definitely still present.

This was our family's first trip to Australia and our first accommodation. The staff at Swissôtel Sydney were friendly, but it was a bit disappointing that we couldn't check in immediately when we arrived at the hotel around 2 PM. We were able to check in after waiting for about an hour, and the room was very comfortable and clean. The view wasn't bad either; I could see Sydney Tower when I looked up, and St Mary's Cathedral in the distance. I liked that the bathroom was spacious, had a bathtub, and was clean. The bedding was clean and comfortable, and the air conditioning could also be used for heating. The best part was the location. The location was incredibly convenient for getting to major attractions, and there were bus, tram, and subway stations all nearby. We could even walk to the Opera House, and there were many amenities like shopping malls and restaurants in the vicinity. In particular, the meeting point for the zoo tour was right across the street from the hotel, which was perfect since we had to gather early in the morning. I stayed at two Sofitels in Sydney during my Australia trip, and because I was so satisfied with the Sofitel Darling Harbour, I decided to book this downtown Sofitel after returning from Cairns. However, this turned out to be the biggest mistake of my two-week trip.
The hotel mainly uses self-check-in, with two counters in a corner for manual service. Check-in went smoothly enough, but the moment I opened my room door, I was stunned. The room was not the standard type I booked; it was tiny. I wasn't expecting a fancy view, but at least they shouldn't have given me the worst room in the hotel – the only internal-facing room on each floor, facing a large exhaust fan, and on the lowest floor! I couldn't help but wonder if I had offended someone. I called to request a room change and was told that the room type I booked was fully occupied for the night, with only a 'special room type' left on the 11th floor (a room designed for guests with disabilities). I said, 'Alright, at least it's a standard room.' So I started waiting for someone from the hotel to show me the room, but after nearly 10 minutes, no one came. Meanwhile, I noticed that the room type I originally booked was available on various platforms. So I went directly to the front desk to change rooms, and this time it was resolved smoothly. Finally, I was assigned the room type I had reserved. Although the room wasn't large, it certainly looked like a standard 5-star room.
Another thing I have to complain about is the hotel's front office service (excluding the concierge), which was practically non-existent. The so-called 'brand standard' clearly didn't apply to them. 1. There was no apology whatsoever for assigning such a bad room, and no genuine effort to resolve the issue. 2. I called for two forks, but by the time I checked out the next day, there was no sign of them. I've stayed in many 5-star hotels globally, and the housekeeping service here was arguably the most disappointing.
The breakfast, however, was quite good. While it's true, as other guests have mentioned, that there's often a long queue, we were seated quickly on the day we went. The breakfast selection was rich, and although the overall service efficiency wasn't very high, I considered it quite good for this hotel.DariPHP 10,551

The location is obviously perfect, being just a couple of minutes from Circular Quay train station and on top of the wharf for ferries to everywhere as well as just across the road from the Royal Botanic Garden and a short stroll from the Sydney Opera House. A standard Langham pink, this hotel is super girly! We arrived early for check-in and were able to use the 9th-floor spa center to freshen up. Our room overlooked the Yarra River, and the view from the window was incredibly soothing. The 9th-floor pool is also a sight to behold; even though it was winter when we visited, the pool was wonderfully warm and heated at night. Downstairs, there's a whole street of restaurants and bars in Southbank, making dining and drinks very convenient. Only challenge was Street parking if you did not have a car park reservation.

A pity we had full day itineraries, so I did not have a chance to use the gym and swimming pool though they were all covered in the price.

Housekeeping is arranged from the third day of your stay, and they do a thorough and clean job. When we arrived, we had an issue with our room—the balcony door wouldn’t lock, and the balcony was somewhat accessible from other apartments. Concerned for our belongings, we asked if we could change rooms. The front desk staff were extremely accommodating and kindly offered us a free upgrade to a higher-floor, two-bedroom apartment.
Unfortunately, when we arrived at the new room, the second bedroom was locked and inaccessible. We didn’t bother raising it as we hadn’t booked a two-bedroom apartment and didn’t really need the extra space. However, we are starting to feel that the rooms are becoming a bit... dated. There’s often a musty smell when we check in, and this time, we found someone else’s socks in the dryer—after drying some of our own clothes, which wasn’t pleasant.
A little more attention to cleaning between guests and ensuring faults are properly addressed would go a long way. Sadly, this experience has left us considering other accommodation options for our next stay—something we wouldn’t normally do, as the Oaks’ location is fantastic! It seems the room has not been cleaned thoroughly. There is still dust in several areas, and the kitchen , oven and refrigerator do not appear very clean, as if they were not wiped properly. It also feels like the cleaning was done a little hastily, as I had to request garbage bags, dish soap, and cloths from reception. Service was fabulous. Leslie was absolutely wonderful to deal with, a joy. The apartment was a great layout with everything you need for a short stay. I'm writing this review in English so the staffs can understand what I wanna say. First of all I wanna thank the male staff on duty everyday over the entire stay of mine and the two girls on their shifts when I checked in. You guys are fantastic, very helpful, friendly and highly efficient. My apologies for not remembering your name, but I do wanna give you my heartfelt thanks. However, there was this female staff, seems to be latino or something, on duty when I came back to the property to get my luggages in the afternoon of Feb.22 aat 3:45pm. (I'm sure you can find out who was it because there were only two staffs at the front desk at that time). She was INSANELY LAZY AND RUDE. I asked for my luggages and she took my tags but said to me, rolling her eyes, ”I think the door to the luggage room is open.” She was very hospitable when dealing with the other guests, who were white, before me. I insisted she needs to go get the bags for me, and she said I'll have to wait. I waited, but apparently she didn't have anything legit to do. First of all, the hotel does not have a reception desk. You need to contact the service staff to check in later or soon. If you don't speak English well, do your homework in advance or choose another room.
Geographical environment: 8-10 minutes walk to crown business district (take a 6-year-old child). The Crown business district is full of food, shopping and casinos. There are many supermarkets in the downstairs for a minute or two. You can buy food and cook, and provide daily living supplies. Very convenient.
Room facilities: The hotel is a bit like a homestay. In a comprehensive apartment. You need to swipe the magnetic card to get in and out, which is relatively safe. The overall space is large, but both bedrooms are 1.5 meters small beds. The kitchen has pans, cutlery, a refrigerator, a microwave, and a dishwasher. But there is no seasoning. Cooking a light meal should be OK. Due to the folklore nature, there is no daily cleaning service. There is a swimming pool in the building.
Parking charges, $ 25 a day. Just come in and out. Friends who drive are highly recommended. City parking is too expensive. It's a good deal to take a taxi.
Disadvantages:
1. Give Ctrip. When booking, it was not marked clearly, I thought there was a hotel with a front desk. Stupidly arrived and found out that it was a homestay type. The current homeowner couldn't get through to the phone, and there was no place to stop and jump straight. Later, the host came and said that Ctrip only told us to check in at 5 o'clock, and did not give the host the contact information, so he was not prepared. Check-in at five is my time for Ctrip, but we flew from Brisbane, that is only approximate time. If Ctrip protects my personal privacy, I will not give the owner contact information, but at least I have to contact me Tell me how to check in, let me contact the owner in advance! !!
2. The overall health of the room is ok, but the smell is really bad. It feels like a guest cooking too much. Hope you can do a good job of ventilation.DariPHP 12,720

A) Mohon ETA (Electronic Travel Authority) – Subkelas 601
- Semak kelayakan & sediakan pasport (masih sah).
- Muat turun aplikasi mudah alih “Australian ETA” (iOS/Android). Semua pemohon ETA wajib guna app ini.
- Sediakan telefon dengan kamera + NFC & lokasi diaktifkan, serta e-mel aktif (disyorkan oleh Suruhanjaya Tinggi Australia di KL).
- Isi butiran dalam app, imbas pasport & swafoto mengikut arahan.
- Bayar caj perkhidmatan ~AUD 20 dalam aplikasi (tiada “visa application charge” berasingan untuk ETA).
- Terima keputusan secara digital – ETA dipautkan kepada pasport anda; tiada pelekat visa.
ETA lazimnya sah hingga 12 bulan, kemasukan berganda, maksimum 3 bulan setiap lawatan.
B) Mohon Visitor Visa – Subkelas 600 (jika tidak layak ETA / perlukan tinggal lebih lama)
- Pilih aliran yang sesuai (contoh: Tourist stream (outside Australia) atau Business Visitor).
- Cipta/Log masuk ImmiAccount dan mulakan permohonan atas talian.
- Sediakan dokumen sokongan (pasport, foto, bukti dana, itinerari, surat majikan/cuti, undangan jika ada, dsb.) mengikut arahan di laman Home Affairs.
- Bayar yuran yang berkaitan dalam ImmiAccount.
- Biometrik (jika diminta): anda akan terima surat arahan biometrik; tempah janji temu di VFS Global Kuala Lumpur dan hadir untuk cap jari & foto.
- Pantau mesej dalam ImmiAccount untuk sebarang permintaan maklumat tambahan & keputusan. Visa (jika diluluskan) dipautkan secara elektronik kepada pasport anda.
Tips penting
- Jangan beli tiket/tempah hotel tidak boleh dikembalikan wang sebelum visa diluluskan. (Amalan selamat semasa memohon.)
