Econo Lodge - Waynesville

Waynesville|2.35km dari Museum of North Carolina Handicrafts
Waynesville is about half-way in-between Asheville NC and the road into Great Smoky Mountains National Park. As such, it is nice city to stay in for those who want to visit both places, or need a place to rest while headed to either. The latter was the case for me and, even though I was just looking for little more than a bed with a roof over it, I was pleasantly surprised at what a good value this was. First thing to know: the road to this motel is easy to miss -- after exiting from Highway 74 and going north on Highway 276 towards Lake Junaluska, you turn left almost immediately onto Phillips Road. There's a traffic light at this intersection; and you'll see a Little Caesar's pizza store there. Continue on Phllips until you get to Collier Lane, on which is the driveway to this place. Second thing to know: the driveway is pretty steep, and will probably not allow large trucks or RVs to drive up. If you can make it up in your RV, fine; but don't say I didn't warn you! My room featured full bath, phone, AC, radio-alarm, microwave, fridge, iron & board, coffee maker, hair dryer, and TV with scores of channels. It was quiet, clean, & well-maintained. Most rooms had balcony, with chairs, permitting views of the town & the mountains behind it. Staff was professional & efficient. Free amenities include parking, wifi, pool, and a continental breakfast buffet. The highway exit has several restaurant chains. This is good value for the amenities provided in such a beautiful location.

The woman at the desk at night was very friendly. The location was good and I was really looking forward to seeing the view in the morning but unfortunately it was foggy in the morning and we could not see a thing. The pool is outdoor and was still closed for the season. Our room was very big. We had 2 beds and a sofa bed. The room did smell awful. It was relatively clean otherwise. The chairs had cigarette burns. It does appear that they have done work on fixing it up. I liked the art in the room. It was just lacking in some details. Beds comfy and pillows good. The breakfast was basically non existent. A tiny prepackaged muffin and coffee was about it. When I first walked in, I did not even realize that they had breakfast out. This added no value to the room cost. It was a fine stop over.
