Perfect stay for one night before departing from BSL airport. Had been on Viking River Cruise so left at 11am to tour the historic Basel, Switzerland. Arrived at hotel around 2:30pm. Had an excellent lunch at LaCave. All in french so they had to help us interpret. Had a huge room, coffee maker, TV, nice hot shower, books, robes & slippers available. Dinner at LaCave was excellent. Madelines at night time with tea in room all complimentary. Staff at desk very nice day, evening & night. Helped with shuttle to airport in very early monring. No breakfast at that hour. I would definitely stay again and recommend to all my traveling friends. Rate was good and included trip to airport.

The rooms are absolutely fabulous. I had booked the basic room and it was huge. Really affordable as well for the location. Although, it is still around 20-25 min walk away from the main tourist attractions.

Schön gelegen oberhalb Lörrachs mit Blick in die Schweiz liegt dieses familiengeführte Hotel mit nur zwölf Zimmern, von denen wir ein Studio mit Schlafcouch für drei Nächte gebucht hatten. Kostenfreie Parkplätze direkt vor dem Haus machten An- und Abreise einfach. Das Zimmer war ausreichend groß, individuell geschnitten, mit. Balkon und modern eingerichtet. Es gab ein separates Schlafzimmer und viel Stauraum. Leider war das Bad nur mäßig sauber, neben den am Boden verbliebenen Haaren der Vormieter störte vor allem der Schimmel in den Duschfugen. Eine Zumutung auch das Schlafsofa, das jeglichen Komfort vermissen ließ. Im Zimmer war außerdem der Feuermelder abhanden gekommen. Das mitgebrachte Frühstücksbuffet entsprach nicht den Ankündigungen auf der Hotelwebsite, die Auswahl war eher nicht reichhaltig, der versprochene Lachs fehlte ganz. An zwei von drei Tagen wurden uns Frühstückseier verschiedener Zubereitung angeboten, an einem Tag gab es nur gekochte Eier. Bei höherem Gösteaufkommen wurde das Buffet nur schleppend wieder gefüllt. Alle wirkt eher lieblos, sehr viel Plastikabfall durch Portionspackungen, das geht anderswo viel nachhaltiger. Service beim Ein- und Auschecken tadellos, im Restaurant zwar freundlich, aber nicht besonders aufmerksam. Insgesamt ein gutes Hotel, dessen „kleine Macken“ sich mit wenig Aufwand beheben ließen.

Novotel was a nice place to stay for our overnight in Basel. Easy check-in and check-out so we had no problems at reception. Our train left very early the next day so they kindly prepared our breakfast to take away which included 2 sandwiches and 2 bottles of water for each person. I can't say much about the facilities since we didn't get to explore but the hotel was a convenient location to get to Basel SBB. The reception staff also helped us book a taxi which we were thankful for as fewer trams went around the city so early in the morning. We were also given a Visitor Pass to travel around the city so the trams were free and we got a discount at the museum we went to. The only downside was there wasn't a convenience store nearby or maybe there was but we didn't get to see one immediately. Thanks, Novotel!

It's located besides the river. Approx 10min walking from the Basel sbb station. Since it's a budget it's pretty compact in size , just have enough space for 2 people. As you can see no doors for the bathroom. However it's cleaned and we had a nice view from the window. Good for a 1 night stay.

Good location if you are traveling on public transport. We came from Colmar by train and the hotel is only a short taxi ride from the station. It is not an area for cafes, restaurants etc. as there is nothing around. There is a tram just up from the hotel and you can take this into the heart if the city. We didn’t as it was only an overnight stay and we were too tired. We contented ourselves with a snack from a machine in the lobby. The room was small but for one or two nights not a problem. Bed was comfortable, water hot and WiFi good. We left too early for breakfast so can’t comment on the food. The young lady on reception was very helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely recommend for short stays. Great value for the price we paid, AU$97.

Der Aufenthalt im Hotel Stadt Lörrach war im Großen und Ganzen in Ordnung. Die Zimmer sind recht neu und der Saunabereich ist sehr schön. Allerdings wird in diesem Hotel das Thema Service nicht gerade groß geschrieben. Unsere Zimmer wurden teilweise nur einmal während des viertägigen Aufenthaltes gereinigt. Als wir das reklamiert haben, bekamen wir vom Housekeeping die Antwort „ ich hatte Urlaub…“ Die im Hotel stationierte Bundespolizei störte uns nicht, allerdings müsste auch Sorge dafür getragen werden, dass Speisen am Frühstücksbuffet wieder aufgefüllt werden… Auch auf unsere Nachfrage hin, hieß es „Pfannkuchen und Croissants gibt es leider nicht mehr“ und das schon um 8:30 Uhr. Vielleicht wäre da ein guter Ausgleich die Sauna für Hotelgäste kostenlos zur Verfügung zu stellen, ebenso andere Kleinigkeiten, die man von 4 Sterne Häusern gewohnt ist: Badeslipper, Flasche Wasser zur Begrüßung u.ä.

This hotel is in an area in a very busy shopping center. Traffic was horrific. Once there, we find out that we must park on the 6 th floor of the parking garage not attached to the hotel. Then poorly and missmarked descriptions guided us to take our luggage down to the 0 floor(but there is no 0 button on the elevator), go through the shopping mall, go outside and then enter another area and go up to another 6th floor to registration. The front desk said oh yes they knew everything was poorly marked and laid out but didn't seem to care. They said the traffic is always bad on weekends. It took over an hour to go 1 km, up to the top of the bumper to bumper cars in line parking garage, find space on crowded shopping elevator, go down to street, thru the mall and up to 6th floor registration. Lots of road construction in the area as well to compound. The rooms are very spacious, clean and nicely lit.

AAlberThis is a nice little Hotel with a number of studios/appartments that are perfect for families with children. The service is great and friendly (typical for the South Baden folks) and we enjoyed our stay.
The only downside is the ”tactical” location of the premise in an industry area, but strategically the location is perfect to take visits to Basel or into the Elsass or Markgraefler Land.
It is an advantage to have a car, but even without car it is ok, since the tram to Riehen and Basel has a stop about 10-15 Min. walk from the Hotel.
We will definitely stay there again.

I travel a lot and usually dont care about the exterior of the Hotels but the inside and staff is important. Worker at the desk was very polite and skilled when i checked in. When i entered the room... abt 300 Euro a night! To say its old to say nothing - like in the old good USSR times in Moscow, Sankt Petersburg, DDR side of Berlin! 40 years ago, what a nostalgic feeling, smell of old carpet, never cleaned AC. Had to open window to get fresh air insine. Paint art on the wall by Natalie Goller - Innenraum Rußland. Was für ein Zufall! For 300 Euro a night! First evening at the Restaurant i choose Wiener Schnitzel with salad and French fries 🍟. My first Wiener Schnitzel ever and never ever if this piece of smashed to 3 mm dry pork was the real Wiener Schnitzel then sorry... Only good thing was the salad. At the hotel restaurant For 300 Euro a night! Breakfast was outstanding, nothing special at the hotel restaurant For 300 Euro a night! Asked in the morning if they do laundry the answer was - no, but whae i asked again at the desk in an hotel for 300 Euro a night the lady called someone and repeated what he heard on the other side of the line - laundry is the responsibility of the guests. Chose the hotel as it was in an excellent location for us as we love to travel. I wanted to see the Rhein again in Germany my son wanted Switzerland so the perfect compromise. Everything was great. The rooms were clean and spacious, staff on reception were helpful especially the male member of staff. Very polite and helpful even when very busy. I didn’t have breakfast so can’t comment. There’s supermarkets/shopping centres/ buses and trams on the doorstep and the nicest views on the Rhein.
