We stayed for 2 nights and wished we stayed longer! Room was spacious and clean with an amazing view on the high floor. We had dinner buffet at Weligama Kitchen and food was great! Breakfast served there was delicious with great variety from Western , Asian, Indian but the Sri Lankan style breakfast was the best! Tide Bar is a great place to relax and have drinks with scrumptious snack too. We spent most of our time at the resort and it was very relaxing. The environment was suitable for couples and family at the same time. Lastly, service was top notch, everyone was friendly and helpful. TK and Kalpani from Weligama kitchen always checking on us, Sachinthaka , Asanka and Dharmika from Tides always cheerful and greeting us when we head there for drinks. Would definitely return and recommend to family and friends visiting beautiful Sri Lanka!

This was our first visit to Sri Lanka, which we were looking forward to as part of our winter tour including Maldives, Sri Lanka, Thailand and a return to the cold UK through Oman and Quatar. Our 25 yrs son spoke highly of his experience during his backpacker/surfer visits to Sri Lanka, but we were looking for a higher level of comfort. Cape Weligama is a member of the Relais and Chateaux hotel association. We have a friend amongst the management team at R&C whose advice I sought prior to our decision to book. I personally don’t enjoy Indian spices although my wife loves curry, hence the combination of western and local cooking at the resort was important. The resort scored perfectly well in that respect, overall, the food offering is very good. We had booked a King bedded Master Suite and were allocated one in the eastern beach side of the property at ground floor level overlooking the “family” swimming pool in the “Arthur C Clarke” building of 4 suites. The villa blocks are named after reputed writers, personalities, or navigators, coincidentally my wife’s maiden name is “Clarke”. We were a little disappointed with the view from our ground floor suite, the upper-level suites have more light, especially on the west side of the resort (closer to the adults-only halfmoon shape pool). During the first 24 hours there seemed an absence of senior management presence at the resort, but this significantly changed on our second day when having expressed our disappointment, the assistant Executive Director Mr da Silva met with us and expressed his objective was to ensure our full satisfaction. Since then we received an outstanding level of personal attention to our needs thought our stay. Two days prior to departure, we received a complimentary upgrade to one of the higher elevation villas – this was very appreciated and offered spectacular sunset and ocean views with an abundance of wildlife proximity. Should we return, this would be the sector of the property that we would prefer. The rooms are well constructed with good quality furnishings. Not quite the latest technology seen in more modern luxury hotels, but the internet connectivity was excellent, and everything works. The rooms resemble the earlier Aman properties we stayed in such as Amanpulo in Philippines. There is direct access to a small beach where the hotel has a rustic bar with limited drinks. We sensed that this area could be improved with more extensive cocktails and smartened up. As a guest you are assigned a “curator” or butler who’s role is as an individual concierge and point of contact with the hotel. Our curator “the Brilliant Brenden” was very attentive, and instantly responsive on WhatsApp, not only helping whist in the resort, but also being on hand and contactable during our off-property excursions. Another star performer in their team was Mr Senith, the restaurant manager. Each day we would discuss our bespoke menu, and which place and time we would like to eat. These intimate

Excellent location. Quite nearby to mirissa harbour and weligama. Liked the property. They arranged a candle lit dinner setting nearby beach as it was my honeymoon on request for no additional charges. Liked the beach, the swimming facilities and the buffet for dinner as well as breakfast. Arranged breakfast box as i had to go on whale watching and would have missed my breakfast. Very nice staff. Only thing they can improve is a bit quick on service as we had to call multiple times for getting our room cleaned.

The Weligama Bay resort is out of this world and the photographs on the web don't do justice to the place. Its by far the nicest place on Weligama Bay, because it is right on the beach, you can sit on the patio of the restaurant and watch children play on the beach and hear the calming sound of the Indian Ocean The garden villas are magnificent for families, a hop step and a jump from the pool and beach. The rooms in the main building are also very spacious and very clean and the service is superb. the rooms unlike what you might get in a sterile 5 star hotel have a Sri Lankan ambience and the resort is small. The Restaurant Cutty Sark, has superb staff who will cook you whatever Sri Lankan dish you want. We had five amazing dinners, party of 15 on the verandah overlooking the pool and the ocean. Jaga Bay Resort was fantastic! I arrived in town and the place I had booked did not have my booking and Jaga Bay came to the rescue. This is a family run local business. Jaga the owner supports local children with their education through his own personal donations and those of past guests. I was being a sticky beak one morning as a crowd of women and children were having a little ceremony and thanking Jaga. He explained to me that since the tsunami the hotel and past guests supported orphaned children to finish their schooling. There are only two children left so now they support local children in need. This warmed my heart so much as I saw such genuine support and appreciation with everyone there. I was in Weligama before a friend's wedding and was in desperate need for an under garment for my Sari. Jaga's wife and main office lady went above and beyond for me on new years eve...I managed to find an awesome tailor, personalised tuktuk driver's and first class service...and the best breakfast view! I will always come back here. Thank-you so much!

We, as a family spent a week at this amazing hotel where people are super friendly, and welcoming. Food for Christmas dinner was delicious , and can be organised at any time with fresh fish and fruits and veggies. We fell like a family hotel where all the people working there are really taking care of us. The atmosphere here is very friendly. You just need to cross the street 6 meters to get to the beach where the waves are nice for beginners and also advanced level surfers. From the balcony we can enjoy the sunrise and sunset. The rooms are big and fresh with the air condition. The room service is perfect made daily!!! Celine and Family

Outpost Weligama exceeded my expectations. The facilities and staff were top notch and professionally run. The common areas, including the rooms were immaculate. Everyone was super friendly and attentive to my requirements, from check-in to food to booking taxis. Two things that really stand out were the quality of food at the rootop restaurant and the drinks prepared by their bartender Lahiru. In describing the former, the quality of food was beyond what I expected for a hostel/co-working space. The Head Chef worked in several resorts in the Maldives and in Dubai, which explained the exquisiteness of the food and the presentation. I couldn't believe the quality of the produce, size, flavour and presentation of the meals. The meals I had everyday and on New Years Eve 2024 were equivalent to what you'd expect at fine-dining restaurant in Melbourne, Sydney or Auckland. This was also the same with the cafe. Bartender Lahiru and his team made me and my friend feel very welcome. The drinks he prepared were sublime and matched the quality you'd expect at top bars around the world! I will definitely return to Outpost Weligama in the future!
