This is our first trip in there. It’s amazing as well, next time we must reserve it again

The room is small, the bed is small, the facilities are old, and the children have to pay separately. Overall, it's average

The hotel is very beautiful and the service is good.

A villa with several floors. We stayed in the attic. Fortunately, the receptionist helped us to carry our luggage up and down. Several people sat around a table for breakfast and the food was served according to the portion.

We recently stayed at Merewood Country House Hotel and had a very pleasant time. The location is truly something special -perched above the lake with breathtaking views that immediately make you feel at ease. Even with the weather not quite on our side, we still ventured out and thoroughly enjoyed the peaceful surroundings. The hotel itself has a calm, unhurried atmosphere, and the staff were attentive and friendly throughout. Our room was cosy ,a bit on the snug side,but clean, comfortable, and well looked after. The hotel feels fairly intimate, particularly in the bar area, which is quite small, but that adds to the charm for those who prefer a quieter stay. The food overall was very good -well-prepared and enjoyable. If there’s one small suggestion, it would be to offer a better selection of snacks or lighter bites, especially for guests relaxing in the lounge. Also, the black coffee wasn’t quite to our taste (a bit harsh without milk), but that’s really the only criticism in what was otherwise a lovely experience. Do note that the WiFi doesn’t reach the rooms, which might be a downside for some, but it’s available in the shared areas and worked fine there. In the end, it’s the setting that steals the show , those views are absolutely unforgettable, and they more than make up for any little quirks. We have just returned home after celebrating my daughters wedding at Merewood. It was perfect. We had full use of the hotel from Friday until Sunday and from the moment we arrived until we (very reluctantly!) left, every member of staff made us feel comfortable and relaxed. They were so friendly and went "over and above" to ensure the weekend went without a hitch. The setting is beautiful, the rooms were lovely and the food was exceptional. Each and every one of our guests commented that it was the best wedding they had attended. I cannot thank everyone at Merewood enough for all of their hard work, but must say a special thanks to Tegan and Rhiannon (the wedding coordinators) who were superb. I highly recommend this venue and will most certainly be back to visit very soon. Christine Shields

Our second stay at the Merewood following our wedding there in 2024. Upon checkout in 2024, we were offered a package to celebrate our anniversary which was booked immediately! After a year of waiting, we were not disappointed. The hotel is just as beautiful as we remembered and the service is still excellent. The food at the Merewood is exceptional. We ate at both the Grill and the Arboreal and had no complaints about either. Upon arrival, we also had Afternoon Tea which admittedly, I have never been a fan of. This has completely changed my mind as there was so much variety and it was presently beautifully! The staff are a real credit to the hotel. I would like to particularly mention to Adam who I spoke to prior to our stay over the phone and then several times during our stay. He is so friendly and welcoming and can’t do enough for you. In addition to Adam, Claire looked after us for breakfast and was brilliant. She not only looked after us but also our two dogs who loved her. Amrit was also great and really knowledgeable about the food he was serving. I did not manage to catch everyone else’s names however, they equally contributed to our stay! Overall, a fantastic stay and we will definitely return again without hesitation. The Merewood will always hold a special place in our hearts and I encourage anyone looking at reviews to definitely visit and see for yourself why it is so great.

Returned to Merewood to celebrate 52nd anniversaries with friends. Adam and his colleagues were so helpful, from the fabulous upgrade to stunning lake view rooms to ensuring we had all we needed for a lovely stay. Many thanks to all.

We booked a table at Merewood to celebrate our wedding whilst on our mini-moon. The service from all staff was of high quality, and the food was absolutely amazing. We would definitely pay another visit and recommend others.
