This is our first trip in there. It’s amazing as well, next time we must reserve it again

Great location. Small rooms. Poor food. Good bar. Great views.

一個別墅，有好幾層，我們住在閣樓，辛虧接待員幫我們行李拿上拿下的。早餐幾個人圍坐一桌，按份上餐

Great location beautiful Victorian house, full of old features, bedroom was modern and clean , bed was luxurious and very quiet, staff were Great, grounds good for walking and scenery was excellent, only a small gripe,smell of smoke constantly downstairs due to log fires but looked lovely, food ok not a great choice for breakfast but adequate, had evening meal on first night , very poor only warm, and not much on plate for £29 ,wife asked for extra mash £5 and got 2 spoon fulls ,would have given it 5* if not for the food, also had a small problem with bill over charged by £100 , until I pointed out that we didn't have breakfast on our leaving day and had been charged for 8 breakfasts instead of 2 After all this would still go back

Fantastic, huge room with a view of the lake. Considering its an old building the hotel was nice and warm. The tasting menu was fantastic and worth the money. Breakfast was also great. All of the staff were really friendly. We couldn't fault anything and would definitely stay here again

We were given an afternoon tea for two voucher as a wedding present. When I went to book I saw that they also did a teddy bears picnic style afternoon tea for children, so we decided to take our son for a treat before he went back to school. We were warmly greeted by William who then went on to serve us. He was so lovely and super knowledgable in all of the afternoon tea items; he and Abin who also served us made our experience even more special! As for the afternoon tea itself, I’d go as far as to say it was the best we’ve ever had! There was plenty of food with lots of variety of both savoury and sweet. We will definitely return!

My husband and I visited for 3 days for a quiet relaxing joint birthday celebration (50yrs ish!) We found the hotel to be exactly what was advertised on their site, being friendly, welcoming, comfortable and professional. The room was a little small (room 6) but had everything we needed. The only negative was that it was very hot. We worked out that the heat was coming from the bathroom so kept the door shut and the window open making sleep possible. The shower was amazing! So much power and instant hot water, we loved it. The staff were all very helpful and friendly, the food was delicious and the house and grounds were immaculate. We would definitely return.

My wife and I stayed here recently and were very happy with our stay. All of the staff were great, especially Connor who we spoke with in the bar area, and Matthew who we spoke with in the Arboreal restaurant. Both were very friendly, professional and helpful, they definitely helped make our stay nice. I unfortunately was ill on the second day but they were very understanding and accommodating. The hotel was lovely and clean, nice and cosy and very greating in reception with the open log fire! Good selection of beers and wines in the bar/restaurant. Our room had a view of the lake which was lovely, when the weather allowed, you could see it very clearly. The food, from breakfast in our room to eating at Arboreal was lovely. Kudos to the chef/s, as it all tasted great and you could tell the effort they put in each meal. Sadly as I was ill on the second evening I could not eat all the food at Arboreal, but it makes me want to return and try the full tasting menu. Regards location, I think it's great. Unfortunately I am recently disabled and so cannot walk far, but from previous trips to the lakes can tell that it's situated great for walks, close to the visitor centre also. I don't have anything bad to say about Merewood, hotel, room, food and especially staff were all great. The only thing to note, there is no lift. We knew this beforehand and still wanted to stay, but something to keep in mind if severly disabled. I definitely recommend staying here or at least visiting for food and drink.
