Hotel berhampiran Yufuin Hot Spring, Yufu

The hotel is located about 7 minutes walk from Yufuin station. It is not so close to the walking street and so not so noisy and crowdy. The staff are polite and can explain to us in English. The room is big and they will serve you the tatami bed at 6pm. There are 2 public onsens, one for men and one for women. Only 1-2 people were using when I went in. I didn't book the dinner and breakfast there because there are many foods in the walking street. The view of the balcony is good too. I drank beer and sat very comfortably to look at the night view that night after taking the hotspring. What a life!

5階建ての旅館です。創業１１１周年を記念して、ラウンジでビール一杯無料のサービスがありました。湯布院温泉の中では老舗の旅館です。フロントスタッフさんの接客対応が丁寧•親切でした。湯布院と由布院の違いにも適切に答えてもらえました。宿泊したのは５階の広い和室。カーテンを開けると、眼前に由布岳が迫っていました。バスルームはユニット式でなく、風呂•トイレ•洗面台がそれぞれ独立。夕食は夏の大分川会席コース。どの料理も美味しくいただけました。特に、印象に残った料理は、黒毛和牛ほうば味噌陶板焼き。温められた味噌はほうばの香りがして、ほんのり甘い味が牛肉によく合う。絶妙な味におかわりしたくなるほど。朝食はブッフェ式。だんご汁をはじめとする、大分県の郷土色豊かなメニューに満足できました。ゆったりとしたスペースがある温泉大浴場は内湯が二つ。ジェットバスと香わり湯のルイボスティ湯も。露天風呂は庭に向いた側に自然の岩を配している。湯温は少し熱め、ぬめり感がある。内湯にはなんと！湯の花が。温泉成分が結晶化した湯の花が湯舟に咲いていました。温泉がいい証です。こちらの温泉旅館に宿泊できて、夫婦旅のいい思い出となりました。

This is perhaps the best onsen hotel I have been to. The reception staff was greatly welcoming and explained everything you need to know about your stay. The lobby atmosphere is one of the best I have experienced. Quiet and calm with lots of cleaned area. The room I selected is Japanese style, in which this establishment executed superbly. The number of smaller rooms inside my room surprised me. There was a room for the toilet and another room for the bathtub. Also, they offered a chair for you to sit in front of the sink. That's unusual but great. And the bedding on the floor was comfy enough for a good night's sleep. But perhaps the best feature of this hotel is the onsen section, which is situated on the fourth floor. Everything inside the onsen was perfect. The temperature of the onsen bath, the choice of an outside onsen area, the cold-water pool and the sauna with classical music playing softly. Wow! This is a place I would definitely return to one day!

My buddy & I stayed at 山のホテル 夢想園 (Yama no Hotel Musouen) in mid-March 2023. From food to room service, everything was perfect. The food served was plated with such elegance, and tasted delicious. The outdoor hot spring is awesome with a magnificent view of Mount Yufu which made people want to soak in at all times. The staff is very welcoming and friendly as well. We will definitely love to visit again. We strongly recommend the hotel.

以前から泊まってみたかった由布院。豪華観光列車ななつ星を手掛けた水戸岡悦治さんのトータルデザインでリニューアル。旅館ですが、椅子やベッドがあり、シンプルながら素敵なデザインで、お部屋に人が出入りされるのが好きでない私たちにぴったりでくつろぐことができました。 　食事は、別のお部屋で頂くので、部屋食より気楽で良かったです。お料理は、盛り付けも工夫されていて美しく、おいしく頂くことができました。若い女性スタッフの方に質問すると、料理以外も何でもきちんと答えてくださり、感心しました。食べ物を残せない私たちには、鍋が、一品多かったので、お腹いっぱいでした。旅館は、夕食も朝食も量が多いので、旅館2日続きは年をとると少し苦しかったです。 　お風呂は、時間を決めて、家族で入れるもので、広い露天風呂もありくつろぐことができました。 　金鱗湖や湯の坪街道を散策するのに便利な場所にあり、ショッピングも楽しめて、楽しかったです。 　また、いつか、由布院を訪れる際は、泊まりたいですね。

　湯布院の宿泊先は、とても迷いました。もちろん、素敵なお宿がたくさんあるからです。その中から私たちが選んだ宿が、柚富の郷彩岳館でした。決め手は、宿からの絶景でした。 　柚富の郷彩岳館は、湯布院の街の南側、湯布院盆地の縁に当たる場所にありました。ですから、南側には遮るものがなく、正面には由布岳の堂々とした姿が見え、その下の方の盆地に広がっている湯布院の街が一望でした。特に、露天風呂に入っていると、正面に由布岳がそびえていて、私たちの想像通りの絶景の宿でした。 　客室も、パブリックスペースも、素敵できれいです。素敵なお食事処でいただいた夕食も朝食も、とてもおいしかったですし、接していただいたスタッフの皆さんも、感じの良い方たちばかりで、とても満足感の高い滞在になりました。　

這是一個精品酒店，衹有5套房間，小的70多平米，大的100多平米，價錢較貴，但我們入住期間都住滿了。 酒店在一個很有設計感的層層疊疊的園林內，每套房間外面都有綠色的小景。房間內有客廳、餐廳、睡房、盥洗間、廁所、大池子温泉，淋浴間和桑拿間，還有兩個小平台。酒吧裏的酒，小食，冰激凌等都是免費的。還有一小時的免費spa。 早餐在自己的餐廳裏，我們住了兩晚，第一頓晚餐在自己的餐廳用餐，第二晚在酒店的不對外營業的獨家餐廳用餐，日本廚師衹為我們夫婦服務。我們有絕對的私人空間，不會遇到酒店的其他客人。 我們入住時酒店剛開業3個月，還在磨合期，但可以感到工作人員都很敬業，希望提供最好的服務。我們的客户經理兼管家Eliena非常周到，隨叫隨到，英文溝通也沒問題。 問題：1. 房間設計需要考慮客户的安全。如睡房的床在一個半尺高的平台上，雖然有地燈，但夜裡起來容易一腳踏空。另，睡房至温泉、洗浴等areas要下三階台階，台階是水泥灰色的，雖然不高，但也容易被忽視。2. 雖然有玻璃隔門，但夜裡温泉流水及温泉相關設備比較響，第一夜很不習慣，較難入睡。有睡眠問題的住客可以和酒店協商夜裡將温泉關掉，就不流水了。

We have been to Japan so many times and have been very impressed by Japanese hospitality. However, this was the first time we felt so unwelcome. The front desk lady did not have any emotions on her face and she gave the impression that she was unhappy to see us. She sounded really pissed (just short of slapping my hand) when I asked whether we can take the toothbrushes. The toothbrushes were complimentary amenities for their guests and she asked us not to touch it only after we are settled and about to leave the room then the other staff told us to just feel free take the toothbrushes. They were extremely rigid for the meal times. There were nine of us in the group. For breakfast they were only offering us two timeslot for the breakfast however being in the onsen town, I would want to take a bath before coming for breakfast. During check-in we were told that the group wont be allowed to enter the restaurant unless all 9 of us arrive. I was pretty upset that I cancelled my breakfast so that the rest of the entourage could enter next morning. But the next morning, they allowed them to enter minutes apart. I wish they would be more thoughtful and took some extra step to at least try to explain to me that I can be late a little bit late instead of canceling the breakfast when I told them that because I want to use the onsen. Instead of a flat NO in the beginning. Sometimes the tiny extra mile will bring a smile. Language is a barrier i understand but to me this is simply unwelcoming us. We like to come to Japan because the people take pride in what they do during dinner we also found a strand of hair in the food. This was extremely surprising. They did offer a plate of tempura as apology, but this was a little bit uncomfortable by the standard that we have been going through during all our trips in Japan. However, I have praises for their service Staff who tried very hard to explain to us the meal The onsen and the rooms in need of some changes. While I understand the rustic feel of the onsen they would like to give to the guest, however it does not give a very safe and welcoming feeling I have been to other ryokans that also give rustic vibes, but this one gave an extremely rundown vibe. The floor of the rooms are also very ‘sticky’ This is extremely unfortunate as I really enjoyed the onsen water but the whole environment just did not make me feel relaxed. The location although a little further in, it is very scenic. Such a pity that we did not have a good experience.

The stay was perfect - from the moment of arrival. Staff greeted us at the parking & took our luggage. The room was very clean. All the staff were very friendly & professional. We stayed on a less busy night. The ryokan gave us a sense of tranquility, which is a good place to recharge, especially with the in-room onsen. The breakfast & dinner were excellent. Would definitely recommend this hotel. This hotel is quite high on the hill, best to drive it take taxi.

Spend my birthday at Kai Yufuin and it was a wonderful experience. Beautiful scenery, excellent food, and impeccable service. Would love to visit other branches of Kai / Hoshino Resorts in the future!
