Late night driving past and we stopped over for a night to rest. Hotel is big and rooms are very spacious. Car parking available next door in a public car park which links directly to the hotel lobby.

The name “Central Hotel” is a bit misleading because the city center is not nearby. It’s perhaps walkable, but the street to the center is not inviting for a stroll. The hotel is across the street from the train station, and next to a city park which looked lovely. The front desk staff recommended a restaurant nearby which was delicious. Our room was oddly configured, with a twin bed at opposite sides of the room reminiscent of a dorm room.

We reserved 2 nights in this Beautiful boutique Hotel in central Zagreb The hotel is perfectly kept and offers meals in a very nice Restaurant also a Spa offers Thai Massages Our room was Luxury contemporary decor one of the best beds and pillow selection i ever experienced generous coffee / tea facilites and bathroom amenities In all luxury furnished room hall and Bathroom out only complain is that airconditioned is turned off in winter months and rooms lack of good ventilation even outside temperatures could be freezing Breakfast and coffee were excellent and Degustation menu for dinner was quite good and served in a beautifull setting

The room was ready by 11:00am so I could check in early and leave my luggage. I have a safety concern and it is that the code to access the main door is the same one to your room door, so unless everyone has a different code for both the main door and their room door (which is the same), any of the other residents can basically access your room since everyone shares the same code. The location is very good, very close to the main attractions. At times, there was a strange noise coming from the patio. Overall, decent experience.

Ich kenne das Hotel schon seit vielen, vielen Jahren, seit sicherlich 2005 und habe dort sicherlich schon einige Dutzend Mal genächtigt. Zuletzt vor etwa 2 Jahren. Aber so abgewohnt wie das Hotel heute ist, verdientes nicht mehr den Namen WestIn, denn es entspricht nicht dem hohen Niveau, welches mit dem Namen Marriott verbunden ist. Als sogenannter ”Prefered Guest” wird mir nicht, so wie üblich beim Einchecken die Creditkarten Sicherheit abverlangt, nein, es wurde der Sicherstellunsgbetrag gleich in voller Höhe abgebucht. Beim Check-out wurde der gesamte Rechnungsbetrag nochmals in kompletter Höhe abgebucht. Erst nach vehementer Reklamation wurde mir der Sicherstellungsbetrag wieder gutgeschrieben. So ein (schlechtes) Service habe ich noch in keinem Hotel erlebt und schon gar nicht bei Starwoods- Marriott, wo ich bereits mehr als 200 Buchungen hatte. Das Zimmer und insbesondere das Badezimmer mehr als abgewohnt. Allein die Kleiderbügel würden in einem 3* Hotel bereits im Abfall landen. Auch mit der Sicherheit nimmt man es in diesem Haus nicht sehr ernst. Der Aufzug kann von Jedermann benutz werden. Es wird keine Zimmerkarte abverlangt. Somit kann jeder von der öffentlichen Garage bis zu jedem einzelnem Stockwerk ungesehen die Etagen aufsuchen und hat freien Zugang zu allen Zimmen. Meim Wunsch, ein Zimmer mit Blick auf Altstadt wurde auch nicht entsprochen. Somit ist für mich alles klar. Ich werde nie mehr im Westin Zagreb nächtigen. Sicherheit Null und abgewohnt mit Investment Stau.

I stayed at this hotel during a business trip to Zagreb. Centrally located and perfect location. All staff were extremely professional. From reception to the restaurant staff were very welcoming, helpful and friendly. The room was spacious with a superb bed - slept so well. Very nice shower too. The absolute highlight for me was the breakfast. You can order eggs any which way you like. Tried some various unusual options and was not disappointed. Fresh juices / croissants/ etc. Best breakfast I ever had at a hotel. Highly recommend and for sure will stay here again.

Found this place on *********** and what a find! The room was clean and very comfortable with lots of nice touches like toothbrushes and toiletries. The soundproofing was good enough to muffle the trams that run all night through the central square outside the windows. There’s a minibar if you need it. Breakfast is excellent prepared by the wonderful Vlasta who spoke perfect English and was very helpful and friendly. Her advice on what to see in Zagreb and how to deal with Croatian trains was invaluable. She warned us that the train to and from Split is often late or cancelled so we changed our plans to return a day early from the Dalmatian coast. Luckily she was able to reserve the same room for us to stop overnight again in Zagreb. The second stay was as good as the first.

El hotel esta muy bien ubicado .Cerca del centro de la ciudad (veinte minutos andando y en linea recta) por lo que no tiene perdida La habitacion en la que me hospede ,era limpia, igua lde limpio el cuarto de baño ,silenciosa , y buenas vistas al exterior.El desayuno muy bueno.Al igual que la cena (que en mi caso fue bufet libre)

PPengguna TetamuGood location close to the main square and large shady park. It's a very busy street but this room was on the back side and quiet, they may not even have any rooms on the street side. This was a private room with a double bed and shared bath. Shared bath was small where the sink is but shower is roomy. Always was clean, and shared by only a couple of rooms. Didn't see the dorm rooms. There are also private rooms with private bath offered. At the time of this visit an organized breakfast wasn't offered but cold cereal and fruit was available 24/7 in the common kitchen, and instant coffee 24/7. The espresso machine required a staff member to operate and the desk isn't staffed except during the day generally. There's a sitting area with couch and chair and a dining area with tables and chairs. There was no air conditioner in this room and it was unusually hot in Zagreb during the stay. At night with the windows open it was comfortable, but very warm otherwise in the room during the day. Very nice owners.

PPengguna Tanpa NamaEverything is nice except the fact that this is the first hotel that I've been to that the housekeeping came by so early. They will leave a note by the door saying that you are supposed to contact the receptionist to ask for them to clean (everyday if you miss them). Which is what I did, but then one day they still didn't come by and clean (not sure why). I think the system could have been better by maybe having two side of door note so the housekeeping will also know if you want your room to be cleaned or not.
The rest I can't really complain, breakfast spread is good. Location wise is a bit off but walkable to tram stops, again depending on where you are heading to.

IItripI'm not a frequent hostel-goer, but my stay here was less than impressive despite the high praise it often receives. The 11-person dorm felt cramped, featuring creaky wooden beds placed too closely together. The bedding and air quality left much to be desired. On the plus side, the facilities were decent and relatively clean, including a bar area that seemed underutilized both by guests and outsiders. Considering the £20 per night price tag, there are plenty of other options in Zagreb that offer a better value for the same cost

LLaffertyWhat began as a suspiciously underpriced, gorgeously designed, epicentrically located property with heart and smiles for days...turned into a psychotic, abusive nightmare, like something straight out of Rosemary’s Baby.
Never in all my days, in all the hundreds of properties and thousands of nights in everything from backpacker hostels to five-star suites, have I been subjected not simply to bad service (fixable) but outright and unrepentant hostility, harassment and torment by the staff. Unbelievable.
As the gentleman and professional many know me to be, I in good faith detailed the infractions, called for a GM meeting, recommended simple solutions, had multiple follow-up meetings, and presumed the offending micro-tyrants would be disciplined and neutralized. They weren’t. It only got worse. And worse still.
Think, stalking, door slamming, man-handling my iPad (verboten), shorting guest change when paying by cash in the bar (witnessed multiple times), having aggressive security called for eating in an otherwise public area five minutes beyond a theretofore unknown “rule,” asking me repeated and pointedly “how long I would be staying...” you get the idea.
So, in the end, I cancelled two weeks of reservations (which would have been expanded to 6+) and protested with my feet. I left.
A day out and I STILL feel emotionally winded, unsure of what I just witnessed.
All I know is that if my behavior to a client or guest even approached this, I’d be – and should be – terminated on the spot. This was not the decision of management.
But maybe it’s me. Maybe this is Croatia’s version of adventure travel. Not enough to make me fall out of love with Zagreb...but close.

PPengguna TetamuI recommend this hotel as it is very well placed to wander around Zagreb. It is clean, very good breakfast and the staff not just friendly but very helpful. When you have had a wonderful holiday it is always easy to write a good review but my review is based upon yes a lovely holiday but it had to be cut short by five days - I got quite ill and had to return to London. The response by staff could not have been better or more kind. Not only did they help me get organised to leave but they also waived the cost of the 5 days. They did not have to do this but chose to help and support me. So I cannot speak more highly of this Hotel and its staff. And thank them so very much for making this difficult time more manageable fr me. So this review in not simple about the physical attributes of this very well placed hotel but evolves from the leadership and priorities of the Hotel and staff to fundamentally serve its customers. BBartek W. SowińskiBittersweet stay at Speeka. Bad weather first 2 days and few mayor sites still closed due to earthquake in 2020. Hostel is located at 3-lanes main street so prepare for the traffic almost 24/7. Windows are old so don't stop the noise. 1st two nights I slept in room number 9 and there were two other cranky beds making so much noise with every move made. Then I moved to nr 6 and it was much better.
Staying there you need to be also prepared for coffee, tea and hot water shortages. And those shabby walls make an impression that the owner doesn't want to invest too much in renovation. Good thing is that hostel is in walking distance from the old town and everything is actually very closed.
People are nice and helpful, thanks to the lady at the reception I managed to print a ticket for 2Cellos - without it I wouldn't enter cause they don't have scanners to read a ticket on smartphone screen. But the concert itself was also sad, maybe cause of those strings sound. I don't know what happened but most likely will visit Zagreb in a few years again and stay at some better place.

ÉVITER, JUYEZ. Le monsieur de l’accueil m’a volé 40€ et je pense que tout le monde est dans la combine. Explication : J’arrive le matin avec mes affaires à l’auberge, je vais à l’accueil je lui demande s’il y a un local à bagages. Il me dit oui mais la caution c’est 45€ moi choqué je lui repose la question et me dis oui oui c’est 45€. Je rentre de mon après-midi et je reviens à l’accueil. Celui qui m’a volé n’était plus là ( heureusement pour lui). Il y avait deux personnes, je lui tant les clés et ne me rend que 5€. Je lui ai dit : j’ai donné un billet de 50€ et il m’a rendu un billet de 5€ en me disant que la caution était de 45€ pour les clés du casier ( local bagage). Il l’appelle et le VOLEUR DIT que j’ai donné 10€. Ils regardent les vidéos de surveillance, ils voyaient bien que j’ai donné 50€ et qu’il ne m’a rendu QUE 5€. Me disent qu’ils ne trouvent pas l’argent et qu’ils n’ont pas d’argent. (Je ne comprends pas que dans une auberge on n’a pas de monnaie). Un peu plus tard, je leurs dis que je vais voir la police, ils me disent maintenant que sur la vidéo de surveillance on ne voit pas le billet alors qu’au début il m’avait dit : oui on le voit que vous avez demandé 50€. Auberge à éviter vraiment. À la fin j’ai payé ma nuit même pas de dédommagement pour les causes d’un employé (ou l’équipes) incompétent, menteur et voleur. Même pas d’excuses ce qui m’a prouvé que tout le monde était dans la combine, une petite excuse ne fait de mal à personne quand on est en tord surtout soi disent être l’auberge la plus ancienne de Zagreb. 60€ la nuit (la nuit + le vol d’un employé qui est sous leurs responsabilités) et moi qui croyais faire des économies c’est raté. Quand tu es jeune, se faire voler 40€ ça fait très mal. Je peux vous dire, je sais aller dans des auberges et ils m’ont jamais demandé une caution pour des clés de casier. Si vous avez un employé responsable qui fait son travail c’est 5€ de caution. Mais bon faut avoir de la chance où être entouré ( moi, j’étais toute seule). De plus dans ma chambre il n’y a pas de prise à côté du lit, vraiment point négative quand tu es dans un dortoir. Monsieur (ou l’équipes) qui m’a volé j’espère du plus profond de mon âme que vous allez mal dormir.
