Meininger Hotel Zurich Greencity

Reasonable location, 30 minutes by public transport to Zurich centre. Rooms ok, although previous occupant smoked inside, so a stale smell of smoke lingered. Purchased air freshener to get rid of it. No towel change or room refresh for the 3 nights I stayed. Staff on arrival where very nice, but I have to say largely unfriendly and unhelpful in following interactions. Counter staff particularly unhelpful on 03/04 September 2023, when asking simple questions they were visibly irritated at request for info for simple questions and assistance with genuine need for help. Obviously don’t care about the fine art of hospitality. Generally a disappointing experience after enjoying other Meininger Hotels. Perhaps I would get better treatment if I was male or a 20 something female.

The kids loved the cool bunk beds and free foosball game in the lounge area. Because it wasn’t crowded, the kids had the game to themselves. What was disappointing: the shared kitchen wasn’t properly maintained. An irresponsible person used the kettle to boil milk and there was a lot of milk residue stuck to it. Pretty disgusting actually. It couldn’t be washed off and When we alerted the staff, they said they had only 1 kettle and couldn’t replace it. When we go in the evenings, there was a huge pile of utensils by the sink, looks very messy. Wish they at least station one staff there to keep an eye on what goes in the kitchen and keep it tidy.

I love this hotel. It’s new and cool and a great value for Zurich. It’s particularly good for larger families—we had two bunk beds in addition to the double bed. Each bed has a light and usb chargers. We’ll always come back wherever we’re in Zurich. My only complaint is the parking—20 francs for private or you could pay the public rate. There’s not much of either.

Can’t beat the price for a family of five, and no complaints whatsoever! Clean, comfy beds, easy checkin, spacious rooms. We would stay in this hotel every time if it were a chain! There is even a huge shared kitchen on the ground floor, so you can save on dining out if you want.

I'm amazed by the hospitality of the staff in the hotel. The place has all the necessities needed in a stay. Rooms are clean too. Near the train station. Grocery nearby. I would definitely choose meininger in my next visits to Europe.

The hotel was clean and seemed updated. Beds were fairly comfortable, and the area was quiet at night. Breakfast had many options and the kitchen offered sack lunches for a fee (they need one day notice in advance). We even used the laundry facility, which was clean and easy to use through a phone app. Staff was very friendly and helpful. While not in a particularly lively neighborhood, we appreciated the calm and found the basics nearby (grocery, restaurant, transit). A quick and easy train ride to and from Zurich's city center. Getting to and from the airport required one transfer, but was still fairly straightforward. If we had more time, we would have loved to explore the expansive park across the river. Would stay again.

We traveled recently to Zurich, enjoying 1,5 days in Zurich center and 1 day in a Switzerland mini tour. We were satisfied with our choice for Meininger Hotel because of the incredible value for money when compared with other Zurich hotels prices and the possibility of staying 2 adults and 3 children in the same room (something very difficult to find in the majority of hotels worldwide). We also liked the nice location, with beautiful surroundings, outside Zurich centre (but at a short distance), close to a train station and a freeway entrance. As we rented a car to visit Lindt Home of Chocolate, Luzern, Interlaken, Gridenwald and Lauterbrunnen the location of the hotel was great. Breakfast was very good. The hotel park (25 CHF/day) was also good. We only disliked the smell in the hotel corridors, please fix that.

This is a newly built hotel located in Greencity, a quiet suburb, a 9 minute journey by train from Zurich HB. The hotel ticks all the boxes. It is exceptionally clean & modern with staff who attentive but unobtrusive. I will definitely stay here for my next visit to Zurich. Congratulations to the management & staff.

I love here very much, the room is beautiful and quiet, well-structured, and the service are nice, helpful, and friendly, totally over expectations. Have had a really great stay experience and slept very well. Deserve 10 stars and super recommend.
