We stayed 21st April to 24th April, beautiful room, very clean, close to all amenities, breakfast was very good quality. Margaret looked after us very well during breakfast. Only thing I could fault is the bed was extremely uncomfortable and very hard, when looking we noticed there was a board under the mattress not sure why, but mattress was extremely uncomfortable. Walls are very thin and you can hear every conversation in the next room and every floorboard upstairs creak and doors banging. Overall a good stay, but unfortunately due to poor mattress quality and lack of sleep will not be returning. Rate 8/10.

Booked to stay at this Guest House a couple of years ago due to its proximity to the railway station but had to cancel due to Covid.This time we took the car so we thought we’d try again and are pleased we did. The property is immaculate as are the rooms which are also very comfortable..We stayed in room5 which is a decent size as is the bathroom. Holly Lodge is in a great location close to all the amenities and a 5 minute walk from the Information Centre where many of the tours depart from.It’s is only a 20 minute walk straight down the road to Bowness where it is a little more lively and has more bars and restaurants. You also get to start the day off with a great breakfast and plenty of choice. The staff we met were all lovely. You must try this place.You won’t be disappointed Fully recommended

地理位置：湖區碼頭附近的酒店，很近，走到岸邊也就5分鐘，湖邊很多天鵝鴿子可以喂。勝在地理位置。 房間：不算很大，和倫敦酒店比起來還是大一點的，設施算是比較新，酒店有泳池，小朋友也可以去。 酒店早餐：還算豐富，外國早餐花樣不多的… 交通：湖區火車站做599還是559可以到酒店那一站，千萬別坐錯方向，否則要在山裡逛1小時…別問我是怎麼知道的…好在山裡風景很美，幾個小鎮可以看看

I booked this stay for my husbands birthday. I have stayed at a few spa resorts and to be honest I was left underwhelmed by the experience. We had a 'dirty towel ' in the room which smelt dirty and had stains on it. I did get it changed and the lady was very apologetic. If tgat was it then it would have been fine however the service in the bar was atrocious. We went to the bar on Saturday evening. We had to wait 10 minutes to get served which was fine but then from asking for our cocktail order we had to wait a further 25 minutes. The poor young boy on the bar was new and didn't know how to make cocktails so he had to wait for Leah, to take over. That would have been fine except Leah was flirting with 2 men at the bar from a wedfing party and kept us waiting 25 minutes from placing our order to actually receiving it. Then I know it is petty but when you are buying a passion fruit martini you sort of expect the half passion fruit. But no. Not here. There wasn't any. Neither were there any cocktail straws to drink it - only full sized strangers?? Apart from the dirty towel the room was mediocre. Please can someone from management lie on the sofa bed in room 275? The springs in the mattress have gone and my poor daughter had to endure a night on what was excruciating. I think a bag of spanners would have been more comfortable. Please can the manager just check thus out? Finally as I said I have stayed in a lot of spa resorts and though this is a beautiful location the attention to detail let's it down. No tissues or slippers in the room and we booked for 3 but only had towels and gowns for 2. For the price I expected more sorry.

Woodlands is a very nice place to stay and would definitely recommend it to any of my friends. The location is excellent for walking into Windermere

Enjoyed a lovely 2 night stay. Room was clean and tidy, bed very comfortable with good quality linen. Large bathroom with hot powerful shower above the bath. The decoration and furniture are traditional and look well suited to the building. My only negative is probably a plus to most people who come here……I don’t like dogs in the dining room. Not the hotels fault, but I’m not keen on dogs sniffing around my legs while I’m eating. The place is easy to find and the parking is excellent.

We have just returned from a 3 night stay for our anniversary. Beutiful building grounds well looked after. Great parking facilities, great location Staff are warm and welcoming and certainly not stuffy which is sometimes a problem when staying in a country house. Bar is superb beautifully decorated comfy with a lovely open fire crackling away. Our room, room 1 is a four poster room with views of the mere lovely old room not best location directly adjacent to stairs but none the less we loved it. Food we ate at the hotel on 2 evenings in both restaurants and the food is fantastic not a huge menu but something for everyone. Breakfast was great and we ate alone every morning 🙈🙈 due to being early risers. Location is also great bus stop at end of driveway so gateway to the lake district at your door we parked the car up when we arrived and never used it the rest of the time. The beutiful Highland cows at the end of the drive is a lovely welcome and we stopped by daily for a chat. All in all we had a great warm stay with lovely welcoming staff great food and drinks within lovely surroundings we will be back.
