I had the opportunity to visit Sochi at the beginning of this year. It ended up being one of my favourite trips so far. I was lucky enough to have a local friend that showed me around. I came back home a few kilograms heavier (don’t blame me). The food was incredible, but my favourite by far was borscht and shashlik, shashlik is kebabs cooked over a fire, almost similar to bbq. Our days consisted out of coffee, good food, tasty desserts and beautiful scenery. I felt truly immersed in the culture after spending nearly two months there. I like these kinds of “slow travels”, that way you can really get the feeling of the country and its people.
