An Akihabara Maid Cafe Guide

Maid cafes are an absolute must try if you’re visiting Tokyo, but the overwhelming amount of them can make it hard to know where to start. To help, here’s my top 3 maid cafes located in Tokyo’s Akihabara: 1- Akiba Zettai Ryoiki A.D.1912 There are a few ‘Akiba Zettai Ryoiki’ stores in Akihabara, all themed around cats who turn into human maids, and each one is based on a different time period! This 1912 cafe features gorgeous Victorian inspired decor, dainty tableware, and more traditional maid costumes. Combine those with the cat ears they give to each customer, and it makes for a completely unique experience! 2- Magical Girl Maid Cafe Magical Lollipop This magical girl themed cafe was the cutest and the most social maid cafe I visited! The place is small and most guests are seated together at a bar area, making it easy for the maids to chat to the customers while they work. And they were eager to talk to me even though I don’t speak any Japanese! 3- Maidreamin Akihabara Main Store You can’t talk about maid cafes without mentioning Maidreamin. They’re by far one of the most popular maid cafe chains, and you can tell why! The store has an air of experience and professionalism, inviting in many tourists, families, and children.
