Coral Cave

Coral Cave is located in the Ratchaprapa Dam. It is a cave on the inside of Khao Sok. It has the same characteristics as Nam Lod Cave or Tham Thalu. It is a cave with water flowing through it all year round. The cave is pitch black and has stalactites and stalagmites. The reason it is called Coral Cave is because inside the cave there are small stalactites and stalagmites that look like coral in the sea. It looks strangely beautiful, like being in the sea. From the initial survey, the strange stalactites are not coral like in the sea. But it may have been formed from the sedimentation of concentrated limestone water mixed with the special air. Therefore, the stalactites look like coral. From the stories of the villagers, it was found that this cave used to be under the sea. The stalactites and stalagmites in the cave have become like coral. They also found fossils of single-celled marine animals that are approximately 250-400 million years old in the limestone, which is believed to have been an ancient sea.
