Perched on a hill overlooking the serene Phewa Lake and surrounded by the rolling hills of Bandipur, the temple is small but magical, and the journey to get there is just as enchanting. The trail starts in the charming village of Bandipur, winding through cobbled streets and lush greenery. The climb itself is short but steep enough to get your heart pumping. As I made my way up, the views unfolded bit by bit, teasing what was to come. Reaching the top felt like a reward in itself. The golden glow of the setting sun painted the hills, valleys, and distant Annapurna range in hues of orange and pink. Watching the day fade from the temple’s peaceful perch was nothing short of mesmerizing. But it wasn’t just the view—it was the quietness of the place, the distant sounds of village life, and the simplicity of just being there. As the sun dipped behind the mountains, I couldn’t help but feel grateful for moments like these. Thani Mai Temple isn’t just a hike; it’s an experience that stays with you long after you’ve left.
