The temple built by the King of the Kingdom of Lan Xang

🏡 Wat Sa Bua was built in 1863 during the reign of King Rama IV by King Chantharat and was initially named Wat Kae Nok. Later, it was renamed Wat Sa Bua because the area used to be a lotus pond. 🏠 Later, Lady Chan, the wife of Somdet Chao Phraya Borom Maha Prayurawong (Dit Bunnag), renovated it. When roads and railways were constructed, the temple's area was divided, making it smaller as it is today. The important and interesting features within the temple are as follows: 🏠 The Ubosot was built in 1872. It is a two-story reinforced concrete building with front and back porches. The western gable is adorned with a depiction of Narayana riding Garuda. The door and window frames are topped with castle-like spires. Inside, there is a replica of Phra Buddha Chinnarat, and the walls are decorated with murals. Outside, there are old boundary stones carved in the style popular during the reign of King Rama V. 🛕 The bell-shaped chedi is situated on a lotus base. It has a two-tiered garland supporting the bell and a single-tiered lotus base. The throne is octagonal, and the spire is adorned with a lotus pattern. 🏕 The gable-roofed kuti has an inscription stating that it was built by Mrs. Sittisarn (In Mrigadat) in 1935. It is a hall-shaped building with a wooden roof adorned with decorative elements.
