Beijing Police Museum

Beijing Police Museum Beijing Police Museum is an industry museum, affiliated with the Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau, located at No. 36, Dongjiaominxiang, Dongcheng District, Beijing. The museum adopts a combination of chronological history and major thematic exhibitions to comprehensively and multi-dimensionally showcase the arduous journey that the capital's public security has gone through, as well as the significant contributions made by the capital's public security in maintaining the capital's stability, protecting people's safety, combating illegal and criminal activities, and upholding the dignity of the law. Beijing Police Museum officially opened to the public on July 1, 2001. The building covers an area of more than 2,500 square meters, with an exhibition area of 2,000 square meters. The museum is divided into four floors of exhibition halls, displaying more than 2,000 pieces of cultural relics and collections. It features exhibitions such as the Public Security Martyrs' Wall, the History of the Capital's Public Security Development, Public Security Culture, Ancient Security Management, Police Functions, Police Equipment, and Police Exchange. The building housing the Beijing Police Museum is the former site of Citibank, built in 1914 and designed by the American architect Murphy. The architecture reflects the Western ancient classical style, with a simple and solid building shape, and is an excellent example of modern bank architecture. In 2001, it was announced by the State Council of the People's Republic of China as a national key cultural relics protection unit.
