The 'Capital Museum', abbreviated as 'Shoubo', is a large comprehensive museum located on Fuxingmen Outer Street in Beijing. The museum was prepared in 1953 and opened in the Confucius Temple of the Imperial College in 1981. The new building opened in 2006. The new building has a construction area of nearly 64,000 square meters and is an architectural artwork that integrates classical and modern beauty. The museum is divided into basic exhibitions, fine exhibitions, and temporary exhibitions. The basic exhibitions include 'Ancient Capital Beijing: Historical and Cultural Chapter' and 'Old Beijing Folk Customs Exhibition'. The fine exhibitions are divided into halls for Buddhism, porcelain, bronze, calligraphy, painting, jade, etc.
