Great Hall of the People visit tips: 1. Book tickets 3 days in advance on the WeChat official account of the Great Hall of the People. Set an alarm for 5pm, fill in your information, and keep refreshing the page until you get a ticket. If you are bringing an elderly person, check if they are over 60 and therefore eligible for free entry before booking to avoid wasting your time (don't ask me how I know this). 2. Take Subway Line 2 to Qianmen Station and exit from Exit A (make sure it's Exit A). Don't believe the map that shows Exit C is closer. The map may show it's closer, but in reality, there are barriers everywhere and you have to go up and down stairs and pass through 4-5 checkpoints. It took me over an hour to queue. 3. Don't bring anything if you can. If you bring a bag, you have to queue. The no-bag channel is much faster. 4. Don't bring water. Water is provided for free inside. Water is not allowed. 5. There are seats inside, so if you follow the right route, it's quite easy. Only a few halls are open, so it's more suitable for elderly people who are interested in it and children who need to learn about the country.
