#summerdestinations My summer vacation in Bergamo was truly delightful! This charming city in northern Italy offers a fantastic mix of history, culture, and stunning views. I started my visit in the Città Alta (Upper Town), where the entrance to the historic city walls is free, and the panoramic views are simply spectacular. The funicular ride up to the Città Alta was just €1.30 and gave us amazing vistas of the city below. I also explored the Basilica di Santa Maria Maggiore, where the €3 entrance fee was well worth it for the breathtaking interior and historical significance. Wandering through the narrow streets and enjoying gelato at a local café made the experience even more memorable. Nearby, we discovered the Accademia Carrara, a wonderful art museum with a €10 entrance fee and a fantastic collection of Italian art. Bergamo is perfect for a leisurely exploration, with its rich history and vibrant local culture.
