Bifeng Temple in Chengde Mountain Resort.

Looking at the ruins in the Mountain Resort, imagine the grandeur of the past. Chengde Mountain Resort is the largest royal garden in China, twice the size of the Summer Palace and eight times the size of Beihai Park. The landscapes that we see today are mainly concentrated in the palace area and the lake area, and the mountain area, which accounts for 80% of the resort area, is currently lackluster and there are not many attractions. In fact, there were many large temples and Taoist temples in the mountain area of the Mountain Resort in history. Today I will introduce Bifeng Temple. Bifeng Temple originally had a stone bridge, a mountain gate, a Heavenly King Hall, left and right bell and drum towers, a main hall, a sutra building, a Ganwei Book House, a Congbi Building, and a Huixi Pavilion. Every time Emperor Qianlong came to this temple, he would take its stream water to make tea. Every morning at the hour of the rabbit, officials in the garden would ring the bell to tell the time. At present, only some stone architectural relics remain, and a pavilion has been rebuilt.
